I'm 64 and would love to do this. (Wish I had started younger.) It is NOT a dying art. More are wanting to get into blacksmithing now than any time in my life. People still want hand made items and pay well.
I'm just today setting up a brake drum forge and railroad track (makeshift) anvil to make a couple of knives.
    I admire this man.

Blacksmithing is a lot of fun and you can make more money than other trades, because you can make stuff and sell it and even do welding. A blacksmith can make $100,000 a year.

Very nice video, too bad they got the temperatures wrong. The temperatures in the "forge" as it is called in English, can reach temperatures up to 1800C (very bright yellow color) The work temperature for the smith is about 1200 to 800C

Hey Garry! Thank you for your video! One little remark though. I am not sure if you are German or Bavarian. In Bavaria, including in lower Bavaria a local shortcut for "Joseph" is "Sepp". Given my personal experience that I never heard "Zeb" as name, I might guess she called him "Sepp". Still... Thanks for the video!!!

Well, it's not the hot end, and if it is a little warmer than the average guy could handle, it's because he's got really tough hands that have gotten used to picking up hot things. I was that way when I welded, not so much now.
