People still want hand made items and pay well. I'm just today setting up a brake drum forge and railroad track (makeshift) anvil to make a couple of knives. I admire this man.

Very nice video, too bad they got the temperatures wrong. The temperatures in the "forge" as it is called in English, can reach temperatures up to 1800C (very bright yellow color) The work temperature for the smith is about 1200 to 800C

Given my personal experience that I never heard "Zeb" as name, I might guess she called him "Sepp". Still... Thanks for the video!!!
Well, it's not the hot end, and if it is a little warmer than the average guy could handle, it's because he's got really tough hands that have gotten used to picking up hot things. I was that way when I welded, not so much now.

Got news for you- as early as 1300 a lot of the work in "old world" shops was done with a water-driven hammer.
