- ■ COLORADO, DURANGO: In the Walmart community, there is one location everyone dream of spending the night in; The Venice of Walmarts in Durango Colorado. Adjacent to the Animas river, this really is the creme de la creme of parking lots to park up for the night in.... or so I was told by Mr Louise.
But first we had to get there. That meant driving the RV over a road that at one stage went above 9900 feet. Coming down on the other side Louise spotted a sign which said scenic waterfall. I objected to stopping as I was ready to kick his ass in the McDonald's RV McNugget eating championship we had planned for the afternoon but he would not listen.
So off we went on what turned out to be an exceptional little hike in the Rocky Mountains.
I love how with harald's videos you never know what you'll get. The title is 'venice of walmarts' but there's a hike up a waterfall, a chicken nugget competition, and a storm 😂

My father had that campground built in the early 1970's along with about 1000 other such Campgrounds under the "United Campgrounds" franchise.
This was Dad's favorite of all the campgrounds.
"The Standard of Excellence" was the company logo and the sign still stands tall! A flag pole was at each campground as, Dad was a veteran of WW2. He had it raised each morning at each campground.
Thanks for sharing, Harold! You brought back some wonderful memories for me!

I think these videos show a great example of why Harald has been so successful in general life. When most of us think enough is enough and are quickly satisfied he carries on through and pushes the limits. Sees it right out until the end

Haraldo's heavy breathing on the hike reminded me of when my wife and I visited Colorado's high country. Near Estes Park we pulled over on the highest highway in the world and the path was full of senior citizens from a tour bus gasping for air. We snickered at them but within a quarter mile on the trail to the look off we were gasping too. Living at sea level we really weren't prepared for the high elevations. Our friend Haraldo never complained. True Viking spirit! When the going gets tough - the tough get going! "Thank You Thor!"

Oh man, I love watching your all the videos. Since, you have gape to upload your Nepal tour videos after leaving Himalaya hike video, I have been watching your US tour videos. Watching your videos, I regret that why I did not have my lots of WORLD Tours videos during my Cruise Ship Job. We used to have 108 days World Tour Cruise starting from Miami, crossing Gatun Lake Lock, doing around Australia, Asia, South Africa, Madeterian, Europe and various Islands of French, British and US so on and back to Miami. We used to visit Alaska every year (Novembee to January). Can you believe that I completed 14 years (from March 2000 to March 2014) repeating every year almost the same Itenirary 4 months to 10 months onboard and 2 months off. I miss those moments and now I regret myself for not having even single video of those wnderful moments. This one is funny & entertaining...just FYI most people rv'ing try and get parked between 3-4 pm not doing a ton of hrs drive time we do this when possible but if we are later on the road we usually walmart park for the night lol or if we have a reserved spot we just pull in & park it & get with the office the next morning ! Can't wait for more adventures ! I must say that climb today was steep but my legs get weak watching you stand on a cliff edge for a pictures lol !

I traveled all over the USA by bicycle and I met a lot of great people in Colorado. When I was in Oregon I was cycling with a Brit for a bit and he told me about a place called Guffey Colorado where he stayed at for a couple days. Guffey Colorado is a very eccentric town with a cat for a mayor.
