  • This is an Italian tune from the early 1500's (also written "Pavana alla Venetiana) written by lute-player Joan Ambrosia Dalza and arranged by Kim Robertson. It blows my mind every time we get to play music that's centuries old; talk about a long-lasting legacy! There was the warmest, rich-colored sitting corner at an AirBnb that we stayed in that seemed perfect for this tune.
And right along that theme is the wonderful Historic Carousel in Albany, OR, that we visited while on our way to the AirBnb. It features a restored antique carousel mechanism (from 1909, donated by the Dentzel family) bearing all kinds of animals, each one dreamed up and designed by individual sponsors and hand-carved from wood by volunteers -- many of whom were taught how to woodwork by the carousel's team! The carousel currently offers free tours into the woodworking shop to see the current animals in progress and view some antique carousel animals from as far back as 1890.
This is a wonderful place to visit and the team is so kind to offer tours and so much information for free -- please give them a visit and support this cool legacy attraction by riding the carousel, purchasing from their gift shop, or donating! You can learn more about the carousel here:

A beautiful song! I wonder if I could get paid a fortune to test merry-go-rounds all day. :)

Wouldn't that be a dream job?? They'd probably need to hire a few people for that so they could manage everybody's schedules with... rotating shifts. *ba dum tssh!* 😂
