Alright John. REALLY enjoying this solo explanation series. I'm trying to improve my knowledge of music theory and these videos really help put it together.
Another band I missed back in the day. Great tune, nicely sliced and diced by John. Found an interview with John Perry from April 2020, interesting guy. He says about fond memories with the Only Ones, "Fond? The Only Ones?!? Can't speak for Peter but everyone else was relieved when it split up. Great bands aren't always that much fun to be in."
Hi John, just subscribed to you page and you play my favourite punk song, with my favourite intro of all time...fate springs to mind..Love it!! 👊👍just getting together with a couple of friends re creat some of these punk classics. Any recommendations for a guitar to use for, pistols, buzzcocks etc? I'm using a Yamaha pacifica with 2 EMG humbuckers at present. Regards Mick
From someone who's struggled to play even the chords to this for 43 years, never mind the solo. John - that was beautiful.
Break actually begins in the final A chord with a pick scrape down the 6th string that ends on the open E bang on beat 1.
