- Larry is not homeless and doesn't profess to be, but the 80-year-old man's panhandling around Woodland Hills has made him a polarizing figure. Details: abc7.la/2ps3MWy
I would say he pays about $2000 a month including taxes and association fees. Yep He needs more money one way or another. In this area, there isn't much help for seniors. They don't have low income apartments for seniors in this area available because of such long waiting lists. Also, if he had two heart attacks, he may not be able to work at this time. I don't like seeing young people panhandle but this elderly gentleman really needs it, and I support him. Best of luck to you sir
I too supplement my ssi with panhandling....ssi payment are less than half min wage and i havent seen a significant increase income ever, my check is about the same as it was a decade ago.
The only thing i can do as a disabled person other than ask is without.
Do people help you out?
I'd give Larry a dollar.
He comes from a generation that should know better. Don't tell me he needs money, if he's buying wine and beer.
Well they dont just give it away!!!
This man isn't lying he is struggling Social Security is worst than welfare and we who work pay into it and get bs to live on plus medical you pay for and medicines that are often more expensive than what you can afford without working. Lets be real who wants to hire a 80 year old man and offer 10-11 an hour! Its a slap in the face 30-50 dollars a day isn't a lot and I would give it to him! He isn't conning anyone and its sad he likely worked 50-60 years and cant afford the basics . Woodland Hills is not cheap, food, utilities and basic stuff adds up. Poor guy so what if he drinks a little here and there! God Bless you and this folks is the reality of retirement we all want to live a long life but we likely wont beablbe to afford it and will die from lack of basic funds, No one should be punished, He cant get welfare more than likely and low income and section 8 is hard to get , I feel for him and we are all likely to one day meet this same fate!
He probably does $300-500 or more a day that is a upper middle class area
Have a heart, people . . .. I speak from experience, if one is panhandling, whatever their circumstances, it's embarrassing and humiliating . . .. I don't care if its because of mental illness, addiction, or just down on one's luck, if you're panhandling you're desperate and people should have compassion
I tried panhandling before just to get propane so I wouldn't have to use electric heaters, yet got zero dollars and that was years ago, things steadily have been going down from there, house falling apart, I worry about that short in the electrical box though, windows and doors boarded up and in the negative at the bank, I just wonder when it will get better if it ever will! I don't like the true scam artists out there, I can't even find assistance or feel like looking cause I got depression since things are bleak in my life, I have lost hope in nearly everything cause of it! 😮💨🥺😭
God bless you Larry.❤
much love to Larry , it takes a lot out of a man to beg
Isn't making money from having youtube videos monetized along the same lines as panhandling since people are just posting things they have fun doing that doesn't contribute anything necessary for the betterment of the world?
@@DailyTheme I've been considering going to NYC during months when the weather is fair and panhandling and the only reason I want to is our government just gives away tax money to pay debts that people should work to pay off. Plus this government takes money from certain people's social security to the tune of 2/3 just because they worked in the private sector long enough to get social security but then they worked for a state job such as rest area maintenance and paid into a state retirement fund and also worked enough years to receive it. It isn't like people plan to do just that but if that is the circumstance then they'll only receive 1/3 of their social security yet they were forced to pay into both systems. The government calls it WEP and it was enacted in the 50's. It doesn't apply to today's world especially when the government is giving away tax money.
Amen leave him alone
Alot of people are hurting this is what the elderly have to do.but it's sad that people are saying it's ok for Larry but everyone else is a Bum.
i think it is a great option for people. There is all kinds of discrimination
