My top tip to anyone who starts collection is to get one all-around fragrance and then save up around $150 while also creating a list of their most desired perfumes (after they have smelled it at a store, I do not recommend blind buying) and the last step is to wait for amazing deals (there are always deals online but I'm talking big savings upwards of 50%) that way you can get the things that you want for less price.

Awesome picks Monika! A few fragrances I would recommend for newbies starting out are:
    1. Coach for Men (any occasion)
    2. Versace Pour Homme/Signature (Office wear)
    3. John Varvatos Artisan Pure (casual wear)
    4. D&G The One EDP (date night)
    5. JPG LeMale (night out/party)
Btw, all these sum up to be less then $250 and they're great mass appealing, compliment getters and most have decent longevity so there you go!
I see a Monika video, I click the like button! Love from Costa Rica! ❤️👌🏽

    I hope this helps someone...
you should know that i'm just 19 years old so my picks are kinda "childish"
1- montblanc starwalker for an everyday scent (if you are in the mood for more go with sauvage or Y from YSL)
2- prada l'homme for the office (if you are confident enough you can pull out a leathery one like farenheit from Dior)
3- Invictus / Eros for clubbing (One million lucky is not for everyone but it's a good pick too)
4- l'homme ideal edp for dates

    4) D&G Light Blue eau intense (EDP) - Summer
    5) Versace Dylan Blue (EDT) - Everyday
    6) D&G The One (EDP) - Winter
    7) F By Ferragamo (EDT) - Just to spray all over my wardrobe, bedsheets, pillowcases etc - This one is the cheapest and doesn't last at all
    8) YSL la nuit de l'homme (EDT) - Date nights/events
    9) Armaf club de nuit intense man (EDT) - So that I can try what's close to Aventus by Creed without paying the big bucks

As a beginner I would go in this order to save money and for value per ml:
    1. Club de nuit intense man, smells super similar to Creed Aventus, lasts long and can be an everyday signature fragrance for $30
    2. Aqua di Gio Profumo is just so incredible and nostalgic of the original Aqua di Gio, but last much longer and is perfect for office/work setting. $100
    3. Versace Eros is just so addicting to smell for a night out with some clubbing or lounge time. It’s sweet with vanilla, mint and is so fresh and sexy at the same time. Women LOVE this scent, but fair warning it’s loud and proud, definitely not a office or everyday wear in my opinion. $50
    4. YSL del’homme is just so nice and sexy. It has cardamom and lavender, which are some of my favorites notes. I’m a huge cardamom fan and this cologne is definitely a crowd pleaser and perfect for date night or going out to eat with friends. You definitely swap it out for like Azzaro wanted, Azzaro wanted by night, or Spicebomb extreme. But it’s just a great addition if you’re a collector. $80

  • @SG-wj2qj

I’d try and cover all my bases.
    Ideal,
    Summer, Spring, fall & Winter
And all occasions, cool and warm weather formal, dates and clubs.
Blue De Chanel EDT: would cover summer and spring, and could be used for warmer formal uses. It’s also applicable for dates in warmer weather. (100ml @ $90 usd)
Guerlain IDEAL Homme EDP: is ideal for the cold weather. Winter and fall are covered, this could also be a interesting choice for a date fragrance and it’s completely applicable for a club. (50ml @ $40 usd from fragrancenet)
Last,. Now that we have everything covered except a cool formal fragrance. It’s also nice to have something special.
Dolce & Gabbana the One EDP or Dior Homme Intense.
They’re both date appropriate. Cold weather appropriate and very much a elegant scent for formal occasions.
That would be my 3 choices.

If you want to spend 250$, have great variety but don't want to smell like everyone else on the street, you should buy collection-sets from niche houses. It's often 5-8 frags á 8-11ml and it gives you some variety to test, explore, find out what you like and what you hate and so on. Great ones to start with are Parfums de Marly Collection or MFK Wardrobe (each around 160 $). Those frags tend to be very strong so 10ml can last you some time if you rotate.

I started with D&G Royal night (for dates and close encounter) then AdG profumo as an everyday versatile fragrance and the third is Armani code Profumo (winter fragrance).
Now I'm thinking about adding a 4th one and have to make a choice between Spicebomb, Le mâle JPG, Versace Eros, Bvlgarie m'en in black

My forever signature scent was the old school Le Male, but recently acquired Blue de Chanel EDP, and love it. It gets loads of compliments. I'm building a fragrance collection after many dormant years so thank you for the recommendations.✌🏽

Thanks Monika, great to see le male essence getting more love, really enjoying that scent atm, thanks for the recommendation. When I started last year I did think of blue channel and savuage but went for Dylan blue instead for an all rounder as it might not be as popular and does a similar job for me. Big lv mark X

Hi Monika, perfect choices for a starter list with a personal twist. I would recommend all your fragrances except bvlgari aqua as I haven't tried it yet but is on my list for 2020.
6 years into my fragrence journey and I have not got 1 fragrance to rule them all yet Don t know if I ever will.
Looking forward to your next vid.

Great choices Monika !!! I just feel Dylan Blue over Explorer. I started with La Nuit De L'homme (original formulation 8YB02-1), Kiton Men by Kiton, Dior Sauvage, Acqua Di Gio Profumo and Givenchy Gentlemen Only Absolute. Don't start like me is the message I'm trying to send.😂

Great list, Monika, especially including the all-around versatile scents such as Bleu de Chanel! I'm planning on building up my collection with some future scents like Versace Man Eau Fraiche for Summer and Replica By the Fireplace for next Fall/Winter. I also will have to try out Montagne Parfums' Parfum De Cerise as I've heard it's a great clone of Tom Ford's Lost Cherry (my sprayed card from weeks ago still smells fantastic of the real thing, but oooof that TF price).

Great video Monika!!! I would really like a video for a great fragrance collection for us women. I just got 3 fragrances delivered. Ordered online. 2 of them for summer, & 1 for fall & winter. I bought 2 as testers. Saved a bunch!!! All women's fragrances. For me!!! Although my daughters come over & spray themselves. They're my neighbors, but not too close, each house is about a quarter mile from each other. All 3 of our homes. Oh well what are mama's for? LOL

Another great video! I was surprised to see your La Male Essence in the list. That's not one you usually see, but it's really good. I knew for sure I would see La Nuit in there someplace! LOL.
I thought I liked it, but it's clearly one of, if not your most favorite fragrance. You have great taste!
I like pretty much everything from YSL. One of my favorite designer houses.

I'd like to suggest three fragrances, The One by D&G, Tom Ford Noir (Which is very cheap compared to other TF's) and last but not least, Versace Dylan Blue. IMHO, Dylan blue is a very good and underrated perfume and has close resemblance to Chanel Bleu . I even think Dylan Blue might even be better than Chanel.
