Dan and Matt are perfect ying n yang for vocals. It's rare when you have 2 guys that sing in the band that can perfectly compliment the other singer or write and sing a completely different song and it doesn't sound like two different bands. I love it. I just seen them last night for their new album "X" in Orlando and still as good as ever!! Matt kept having amp issues and their ear pieces stopped working and they played seamless anyways. They also had a new younger drummer that was a powerhouse like Dave Grohl back in the day! AWESOME!!! Also don't sleep on Drug Church you'll regret it

I’ve been almost suicidal in my thoughts the entire week (trapped - can’t do that to kid) which frustrates me further. I flip on Alkaline and begin to cry uncontrollably. So beautiful. Skibas hooks and Dans eternally identifiable turns of phrase.. I just couldn’t hold it together. The magic they’ve brought to my life for 20 years has dampened the inner pain and brought me joy and excitement too. If it werr redemption such a bring down, I wish I could tell them how Indebted and impossibly grateful I am for their glue that’s held me together when I was clearly falling apart and through addictions and such. And now they’re helping my 23 yr b old son through his demons and hopefully they help save his life as well.
I love when Dan and Matt sing together - they have such different styles and they are so complimentary. Time will tell what this album is about, but I can't help but love these guys.
Oh, and Blink 182 fans that came here to hate on Matt. Just go enjoy your band. Alk3 was doing fine WAY before Matt joined Blink and they'll be fine after he leaves. I hope you guys find happiness!

I was in my late teens/early 20’s, living in the NW suburbs of Chicago when Alkaline first started out. It was one of the best times for punk/indie, and one of best places to live. So many good shows... Alkaline has been my favorite band for almost 20 years, and the heartskull logo was the first of many tattoos that I got over10 years ago. This is exactly why they’ll always be my fave, this new album sounds incredible and I can’t wait to see them in August.
Heartskull was my first tattoo as well, been listening to them since I was a kid. Saw them in Austin about a week ago for now the third time in my life, and I think this tour was their best setlist. Hope you have a great time when you go.

For a band with two incredible singers, I'm still amazed how infrequently they split vocal duties in the same song. This is a great song on its own, but having Matt on the backing vocal really works for it.
Dan's songs are some of the best. Broken Wing might be my favorite Alkaline Trio song of all time

I can't seem to wrap my head around the comparisons between ALK3 and blink (two totally different worlds)? People do realize Matt Skiba was just doing his job right? He is still a paid professional musician regardless of his current affiliations. Dude is a hard working man, this is obviously his first love when it comes to his musical aspirations. Chill out on the "this is better than that", and just enjoy his talent.

Couldn’t have said it better myself! I love both bands and grew up in the 90s equally listening to both. Blink is light hearted, funny and alk3 is much darker/witty and serious but both talk about much of the same things just different point of views and spectrum.
also as a musician ya gotta switch it up sometimes, it keeps it from feeling stale and helps you grow/learn. however ya wanna put it, y'all can probably smell what i'm stepping in. also i think it's awesome blink chose skiba of all people to join in on the fun
