- It's common knowledge that Halloween H20 ignores the events of Halloween 4,5, and 6. It would be really hard to try and connect the evens of H20 to the "Thorn" trilogy but that didn't stop someone from trying! In this video I break down the "Halloween: The Blackest Eyes" storyline from Chaos Comics.

HONESTLY can we not pretend anymore that Tony TOTALLY doesn't deserve his props for working like a mad man and putting out content non stop while being a crew of 1?? In the next inevitable Halloween reboot, Michael Myers should be fully supernatural, a force of nature without _any_ explanation given. Evil incarnate. I would watch that.

The problem is that people take things from a novelization or a comic book as gospel or as if it was something that was always intended to be part of the story. IT WASN'T, there have been authors who did novelizations who have all said that they generally get a copy of the incomplete shooting script and they are kind of expected to just come up with whatever to fill out the book.
The same with the garbage story people still spout about Jason being a deadite. NO HE WASN'T. Its just that the director knew Sam Raimi and asked if he could use the props in the movie because he literally said "he thought they looked cool". Yet people still claim that Jason was meant to be a deadite.
@@lutherheggs451what are you talking about? We just mentioned one of the drafts for Halloween H20. Nobody said that automatically makes it canon to the timeline. You're taking your frustration out on the wrong folks here
@@lutherheggs451 What @bensneb360 is talking about was in the screenplay and was MEANT to be a part of the story. It's not there because Jamie Lee Curtis and Steve Miner refused to shoot it. Steve Miner didn't even want to acknowledge "Halloween II" but was forced into it when he was reminded that's where the "sister" angle came from and not the original. Moustapha Akkad fought Curtis and Miner on it because he wanted H20 to be a real Halloween 7. He didn't want them to ignore anything. But when the fight went to Disney (who owns/ed Dimension), Disney sided with Curtis and Miner and that's why it's not in the movie. But it wasn't something just "made up" by people outside the filmmakers.

Loomis originally had a family in the first movie. That scene where he was talking on the payphone, he was supposed to be talking to his wife, but Donald Pleasance suggested taking that out. I believe it's still referenced in the novelization though.
You were also correct in your earlier video about how H20 did feature stronger connections to the Thorn trilogy in earlier versions of the script. One of the students was presenting a report about it in Laurie's class.

I can see Halloween 6 and H2O connecting. Laurie faked her death to avoid Michael, but she didn't realize the ramifications and put on her daughter Jamie.
That's what was revealed in the original screenplay.
I still remember when H20 came out and it was a really big deal that Jamie Lee Curtis was coming back. Now everyone does this and it's become cliche to bring back characters from long ago earlier in the franchise.
There are crime scene photos from 4-6 in Loomis office during the opening credit montage. A pair of bloody scissors are shown. The only time sissors were used in the series were the end of Halloween 4 when Jamie stabbed her stepmother and when Michael killed Rachael in Halloween 5. There is also a photo of the doctor who's face was smashed into the metal bars at the end of Halloween 6. The students line about the Frankenstein monster killing everyone Frankenstein loved to force him out of hiding and into a confrontation would only make sense if the rest of the series happened.
When Jamie Lee and Steve Miner made the explicit references to 4-6 go away, they didn't know enough about the Halloween sequels to know those too were references to 4-6.
Yeah I remember being confused when people started posting about all the alternate timelines as I always saw H20 as a continuation of the series set after Halloween 6 but choosing to not directly reference any of the events from that film directly because those were more of Loomis's story. I always thought that Frankenstein speech was a subtle way of acknowledging the sequels and even re-contextualizing them in a way because Michael essentially spent 4-6 killing off all of Laurie's loved ones. Her daughter and the strodes. Rather than doing so for a cult ( which obviously he wasn't that invested in his membership giving the ending of the theatrical cut) he was actually trying to draw Laurie out of hiding. Idk. I always thought that was subtext and a clever way of getting back to basics and dropping all the convoluted plot threads. Resurrection is the one I've always considered non-cannon. Lol

They wanted to mention the events of 4-5-6 in another script but rejected it in the end I think

There's a great comic called A Town Named Dragon where it feels like an 80s slasher movie except the killer is a giant fire breathing dragon
My head cannon says Michael Myers became possessed by an ancient evil curse which gave him supernatural powers. Though I don't think they ever should have tried explaining this. Should just have been a mystery like they never should have explained where Freddy got his powers from.

I never knew H20 was in a different timeline until 2016.
Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. Really liked it back in school as the teachers would put up decorations of spider webs, witches, skeletons, black cats, etc. And the month of October, we could draw spiders and spiderwebs and spooky things in the margins of our homework and tests.
My favorite Halloween comics is 2008 Halloween: 30 Years of Terror, which is a collection of short stories set in the film universe, including one which shows a murder from the point of view of both Michael and his victim.
SO THIS NOT ONLY CONNECTS HALLOWEEN 6 AND H2O, BUT ALSO HALLOWEEN 3. NICE...
"Halloween III" cannot be connected with any Michael Myers universe because in "Halloween III", Myers is a fictional character. They are watching "Halloween" on television, so he cannot co-exist with the events of "Season of the Witch."

I always thought 7 and 8 were connected to the thorn trilogy. The only problem is it makes Laurie terrible for abandoning Jamie.

It could be explained that the murders in 4-6 were blamed on the thorn cult, hence everyone in H20 saying it’s been 20 years

With the Night of the Demons trilogy getting a release from Scream Factory it might be time to look at the differences from those 3. Each movie comes with another version of the film. It's a home run! I mainly just wanna see you do a review of them :)

You should do a special about how other countries rename or add weird taglines at movies for International distribution, like in Spain Halloween 2018 was literally called H40, Halloween Kills was Halloween Kills: La noche aún no termina (The Nigh is not Over Yet) and Halloween Ends was Halloween La noche final (The Final Night)
I would love to see a better attempt at connecting 4-6 with H20. In like a novel or comic because a movie probably will never happen.
Between this and Resurrection? I go back and forth because Resurrection is my guilty pleasure (it’s so bad). I probably lean more toward this comic though
I love these 3 comics . The others One Good Scare is great . First Death of Lauire Strode good and Nightdance just ok.

How about reviewing the army of darkness comics from dynamite? Not a big fan of most of them, but I really liked their first mini series, ashes 2 ashes. And it crossed over with marvel zombies which is quite interesting.

I never even knew about multiple timelines til the 2010s. I always just thought it was obvious that Jamie lost her mother who later was revealed to be alive and admitted to faking her own death. Seemed like at worst, she’s a bad mother focused on the survival of herself and her son.
Totally worthless side note; There is a Halloween Triple Feature bluray which includes Curse, H20, and Resurrection. You almost have to ask why with multiple timelines and all.
