    Most people overlook the genius of the Young brothers ability to make music that was both simple and complex at the same time and still be relevant 40+ years later.
    Malcolm was truly the driving force of the greatest rock band ever.

    This guy's a great rock guitar teacher, really understands the AC/DC vibe and what makes Malcolm's playing what it is. Awesome little interactive jam session at the end there, I'm gonna make use of this when I get home from work and pick up the guitar. Cool idea, wish more youtubers did that interactive jam session at the end of a virtual lesson lol. Great content!

    Get yourself some fat stings, like 11s or even higher and sting them up nice n tight. Think: acoustic. Now dont use too much distortion. Natural boost with volume is best. Basically it should be hard to use vibrato. Lol.
    Best way to practice Malcolm's precision and tightness and groove; play Mal's parts on Jailbreak or High voltage live. He sits on one chord to let Angus do his magic. Sometimes only 2 strings but brings up the tension with his brother so naturally.
    Theyll do this for like 5 minutes or more depending on Angus's shredding.
    And remember Mal will usually play low on the neck with open chords while Angus may play a bar/power chord or variant thereof. Together they sound massive!
    My favorite band of all time. i consider Malcolm young my guitar teacher. AC/DC LIVE video is my Holy Grail of guitar. The famous Donnington show. And Angus has the most beautiful black SG.

      Malcolm dug in and hit the strings hard. I’m guessing the extra pickups simply got in his way.

    • @MrPaulBellingham
      @MrPaulBellingham Před měsícem +2

      There's a train of thought that each pickup affects how the strings vibrate, each will dampen the vibrations so by taking the neck pickup out he's trying to maximise the tone of each string. That ties in with removing the lacquer from the guitar body. Or maybe he kept hitting his pick on it?

    • @Andre_tc
      @Andre_tc Před 4 dny +1

      That Gretsch had 3 pickups. He took out the neck and middle because he didn't use it. Also it's a chambered guitar so there was something about resonance too.
