@@chrisinacio I remember a race, maybe the first one after the halo was introduced, where a car went on top of another car and the tire went above the driver's head. It would have very likely been serious injury if not fatal had the halo not been there.

To be completely honest, Alonso might have been the best driver other than Verstappen all season long. Almost ZERO mistakes, some absolutely mind-blowing saves, and just pure pace (like front row in Canada). I hope Aston Martin are on it next year, maybe for some race wins? We'll see. Certainly a risky move.
Love that they picked KMag's pole as the no. 1 dramatic moment. It speaks both to how everyone secretly roots for Haas as an underdog (not to mention Magnussen's comeback story this year) but also, sadly, to how few truly dramatic moments there were this season. Well done, KMag. You have a podium and a pole. Now let's get that first win!
The best moment of 2022 was Magnussen his pole. It doesnt matter for what team or driver you are, everyone had a big smile when he scored that pole. It was just so funny and great

The really scary thing about Zhou's crash is that the roll hoop seemed to have failed, meaning that only the halo protected him. Reminded me of Diniz's crash at the Nurburgring in 1999.
Zhous crash has resulted in revised roll hoops for 2023. They can no long use the hoop style that Alfa had, although I think all 9 other teams already had the circular ones anyway.
When watching zhous crash my heart dropped. I’ve only been watching f1 for a year and that was the most intense crash I’ve seen live. When I saw him ok my heart like jumped for joy. And watching Kevin get his pole made me so happy.
Wait, what about Sainz’s Ferrari catching on fire in Austria? I remember watching that and genuinely being pretty scared for him when he couldn’t get the car stopped.
That was sad. Especially the way he said "no, no, engine, engine, no, no" and the way he sat heartbroken after coming out of his car. Big Max fan here, but that should've been a Ferrari 1-2 that might've given them some extra confidence boost.
For some people getting pole so many times it feels like wakeup in the morning routine, but for someone getting a pole for the first time in his life is something that he will remember for the rest of his life.
Alonso's comment about Hamilton in Spa and Vercrashen's egotistical behaviour and radio in Brazil were the highlights of the season. The rest of the season was LeClerc fighting his civil war with Ferrari.

I remember watching the British GP live from my home on the US west coast… early morning race so I had made a nice strong cup of coffee. The theme music with Crofty’s perfect voice describing the circuit at Silverstone… the pirelli compounds… the starting grid… By the time the formation lap was underway I was so hyped, and the caffeine was kicking in big time. Lights out and away we go! When the camera switched to show the leaders going into turns 2/3 I could see, in the background, an upside down car sliding very fast into the gravel. Immediate red flag, a shot or George Russell sprinting towards where I knew the crash scene was, but not seeing one single shot of the crash scene, or any replay at all… my heart really started to pound. I knew they weren’t showing the scene because they had no confirmation of the driver’s condition. When they finally showed the replay it was at first a relief, but shocking and scary to see how bad it could have been without the halo. I would say that was the most “dramatic” moment for me. If it was favorite moments I would agree that Kmag’s pole was top three along with George and Carlos’ first race wins.
