The Turkish author Orhan Pamuk tells us why evoking father figures in his latest novel "The Red-Haired Woman" is part of a larger reflection on power dynamics. We talk about his accidental muse, the city of Istanbul, and the East-West culture clash at the centre of his literary trajectory. The Nobel Prize winner jokes about the fact that he still has a bodyguard in the fraught democracy of modern-day Turkey, even though he doesn’t consider himself to be a "political writer".

from the position of writer, perhaps he was really like his career,as for the media and its political position, the conversation would be very dangerous and seems to be designed.

The writer who don't love motherland is not a good writer.

Right. Or maybe he just sees things as they are, and evil as it is. Motherland or not, truth must win out.
