  • Making a DIY pocket hole machine similar to the big blue one. It uses the small Kreg jig you can get from either the Orange (I said "red" in the video) or Blue Home Center. This one is only set up for 3/4" material but that is primarily what it will be used for anyway. I will eventually make an access panel on top for bit changing but I needed to get this done so I can use it for another project.

Great job. Ideas for v2: maybe add a rolling wheel to hold town the working piece and a service hatch to exchange the drill bit.

Heavy is GOOD. Everything feels a lot more stable and solid, when you have some weight for a tool like this.

Thanks for the video, and congratulations on your 2nd grandchild.
I hope you find this comment helpful in that that is its intent.
One of my best friends is British. We often discuss cultural differences, pronunciation, and word usage. He maintains that Americans don't understand irony, or how to use the word ironic. Alanis Morissette's song is his, and everyone else's most glaring example. In the song her examples are coincidence, or bad luck, but not ironic.
Using a pocket hole jig to help make a pocket hole machine is mearly a coincidence, and a brilliant use of a tool to make an upgrade of the tool itself. For something to be ironic the opposite of the intended result must occur, and, to be truly ironic, the irony would mildly humorous.
An example of irony could be that if the pocket hole machine build had failed due to the use of pocket holes.
Two of the most incorrectly used words in American English are ironic, and literally.
Again, I only intend this to be helpful. Your video's have good pace, content, and are a pleasure to watch.

You are absolutely correct...I didnt even realize I did that. Oftentimes we use words incorrectly because that's the way we've heard it so many times even though we know it's incorrect. Good catch...I'll have to be more careful in the future. Thanks for the constructive criticism and thanks for watching! Cheers!

I've watched yours and the original version but my question. Is there no way of making it smaller it just seems overly big for just a drill to be inside not knocking it in any way. It looks amazing but I'm going to try draw up plans for a smaller version as I work in a shed lol 😂 congratulations grandad 😉

that's a wicked build Randy mate.. Watching here in Ireland.. U got skills man. I'm trying to do a job on my cheap ass Table saw. It's a decent saw but the top is shit. That's the truth. The top isn't level at all so I want to put ,my own top on it from good 18mm Plywood. Do u have any advice for me bro? The saw has these little trunions that the blade housing sit into on which were connected to the old Table top. They look tricky to connect back up. My saw's blade housing has this weird top bit which means the blade can still cut u when it's fully retracted. I wanna change that which means I will lose maybe 5-8mm from the 80mm height but I don't care about that. I wanna be able to be safe as heck without worrying about my hand hitting a blades that aint completely hidden.
This was a great Pocket hole jig build. Those machines look awesome anyways so for u to build one of ur own means u are pretty decent at this woodworking game bro..Salute to u and best wishes with Grandchild #2.. Happy New year to u all there

muhtemelen, ama mesele bu değil. tamamen başka birinin tasarımını alıp kendiniz için yapmakla ilgili ... ve gerekirse, ihtiyaçlarınıza göre değiştirmek ... yaptığım. şerefe!
