    For Calathea- is it worth leaving the humidifier on at night so the humidity stays at 40 or above? (Gotta love winter..! 😮‍💨)

    Can you please help me? I know the temperatures are dropping because of the time of year and the humidity is dropping, so I got a cool mist humidifier. I just use regular water from the fridge, but when I water my plants I use purified water, I now see I might need to use distilled. Anyway, I've noticed leaves browning which has never been an issue for me before. Do you think it could be because of using normal water, not distilled, in my cool mist humidifier or because the general temperature is getting to cold? Please help, I've never used a humidifier before and I'm not sure I'm using it right. Thanks!!!

    My calathea's new unfurling leaves are already crisping up. What could be the cause of it? But the adult leaves are just normal and healthy

    • @GoodandPlanty
      @GoodandPlanty  Před 4 lety

      could be either a lack of humidity or the water you’re using. whenever i use tap water instead of distilled my new growth comes in crispy. hope that helps!

    What would you say an idea humidity percentage inside a home that is comfortable for both plants and those who are living within the home? Im thinking about getting a humidifier, I would love to get some more tropical plants but I want to make sure that I have a better environment for them first. Thank you!

    • @GoodandPlanty
      @GoodandPlanty  Před 3 lety +1

      I would say around 50-60%! It can be hard to keep larger rooms that humid, so some areas might be 40%.
