I never was a big fan of the R-Type franchise, but this R-Type Delta blew me away! It's hard as hell, but I love the game so much that I always keep coming back to it to have my ass kicked!

Same here. I'm replaying R-Type Delta right now (after 20 years) and it's just on the edge on being frustrating, but I love it. Reached Stage 6 yesterday and I won't stop until I finished it again.
I remember someone stole this game on me....... I thought I'd never find another copy but, I tracked one down and I still shove it down my underpants every night to keep it safe!
It's easily my favourite shmup of all time. R-type Final couldn't match up...

Great video and lovely modern emulation for the Psx,but many games are missing (mostly 16bit arcade ports ofcourse) to show that its shootmup library is really amazing.

Damn, lucky! I kinda skipped that console generation and was PC gaming so I missed out on all these sweet games. I own a region modded PS1 now, but very few titles.

Just as it is with JRPGs, the PlayStation should be known for its shmups and fighting games (2 genres I’m a big fan of), like the Sega Saturn is.
Imho - Zanac best. Compile gods stg.

I usually dislike smoothing filters for old games, specifically 4th gen or previous, but it looks good on PS1 games, I guess because they were usually so grainy.

No Sexy Parodius, Mobile Light Force, Parodius, and a few others that's missing. Harmful Park is one of the best. Sexy Parodius is great as well.

Raystorm and Raycrisis look incredible for PS1 games.
The games are running awesome. If you are playing on ePSXe, would you care to share your settings? Very smooth gameplay on these settings!
Yeah I'm using ePSXe and it was a very hard task to get a smooth gameplay. I found out that the problem was caused by the audio plugin. To get smooth gameplay you have to use the "P.E.op.S. Sound Driver 1.10" plugin! It solved the problem.

The game is a horizontal Shoot-'em-up just like G-Darius.
The game had a flying shop inside the level that you can fly into. Then there was a screen with a shopkeeper and you could buy upgrades.

I can't find any information on the Two-Tenraku game.. does it go by another name too?
both with airgrave are really unknown games even in japan actually. so expect scarce information on those games

In terms of design and gameplay raystorm and raycrisis have to be the best. Einhandr is a beautiful looking game, but the american release is at least 5 times more difficult than the japanese one

the saturn ver is the most similar to arcades which is called the ST-V(sega titan video) which is literally a saturn but with carts instead of cds

well you can but some games dont work perfectly, for example, if you play Shienryu on ps2 on a ps3 the game plays but there's no background music. I believe this also happened with the ps2 console. most games generally play perfectly

I starting to think PlayStation works better as console for 2D games rather than 3D.
is the opossite the ps1 was weaker on 2d beacuase of the lack of RAM lots of graphics and frame missing
but on 3D ofcourse theres no way the sega saturn cannot handle einhader and raystorm exclusives titles for the ps1
@@xtremegold2950 RayStorm isn't a PS1 exclusive! It was also released on the Sega Saturn and known as Layer Section 2. Unfortunately, just like what you'd expected from the Saturn, it's a Japanese exclusive. The Saturn version has more content than the PS1 version (which gives you another two free airships and another two free power-ups), but this version runs at a horribly slow pace and has some blurry graphics. It's basically something like the difference between the PS1 and Saturn ports of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

Hey where is Parodius: Fantastic Journey & time bokan series bokandesuyo(the more original and fun smup). Cool collection but the graphic filter you use ruin everything.
Tengo 3 maletines llenos de juegos en la epoca que grababa juegos y te puedes creer que no tengo casi ninguno de estos shooter que ademas son mis preferidos? Claro, grababa los que mas se vendian, y por eso mismo me quede sin tener estos. Tengo juegos super raros japoneses, pero estos no. Asi que los buscare haber donde los puedo encontrar.
Los primeros no me parecen tan buenos, una consola de 16 bit como SNES los puede correr fácilmente.
