One of the hardest things to do as anglers is break down a new body of water. This is one of the top questions that I get and so I decided to make a video series devoted to this one thing.
Not only do I believe that I will become a better angler because of this, but I believe you will too!
BassFishingHQ is dedicated to teaching people how to catch more and bigger bass. I will go over different bass fishing tips & techniques that will put more fish in the boat or on the shore. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned tournament angler, my goal is to help you catch more bass.

I like that you posted even if you didn’t slay it on the water. Too often do CZcamsrs only post when they have amazing days. That sets most people up for disappointment. Not only that, you kept your spirits high and didn’t give up. You analyzed what happened that day instead of saying “I don’t know what went wrong”. Learning from a day on the water is critical to improvement. Good work 👍🏻

My favorite part of this video is the fact that you failed to reach your goal but made it and let it realistic. In my opinion television and other CZcamsr’s are starting to ruin the real expectations of fishing - catching on every cast, or catching 50lb bags, etc. Thanks for keeping it real.

I like this idea for a series. It's great to see your process and strategies for breaking down a lake. My favorite part was when you mentioned how pinch points are obvious, yet great places to search for bass. I'm not fortunate enough to own a bass boat, so I do a lot of bank fishing. I lost my dad in 2021 and he is the reason I LOVE fishing!! I’m the gal ( grandma) in a kayak. My shoulder cant handle paddling anymore so I just bought a small boat with a motor. I always love when the guys on the lake with all their fancy gear, fish finders, etc and they are asking what my magic bait is because they are watching me reel them in out of a little red kayak. I also say….” Dad gum it “ because my dad always used that expression! I’m watching how you handle your baitcaster reel because I just purchased my first one! Love when the lake is glasslike❤ where you are fishing. I also talk to the fish I catch.

I cannot express how much I appreciate your sharing the lake break down thought process. Your teaching style and explanations are great. I also appreciate you are not completely focused or reliant upon your electronics. You were using all the tools available which is a great example to all beginner/intermediate bass anglers such as myself. Probably the most useful thing I gain from experts is how quickly they will move on when fishing is slow. I see people running banks all day in the same locations week after week regardless of the time of year and I see people patrolling and sitting on the "community off shore hot spots". I am hoping to one day to put it all together where I can go beyond the local knowledge and find fish is less well known areas of the lake through a process of elimination combined with educated approximation on location and depth while using electronics to locate structure, cover, bait and fish. Although this day was not an active bite it is nice to know that even the experts have a slow day from time to time. Your channel is a must see for me.

Tyler if you ever feeling too discouraged, just take me fishing and you’ll realize how good you are 😂. I have more tough days than good days, but we always come back for more. If it wasn’t for channels like yours I’d be even more lost

What a great video. What made it great for me is that i have old school skills to find fish. Just a striker 4 nothing fancy and get jealous of people that have great boats and equipment. It show me that old school way with all the equipment doesn't always produce fish. You rely still on temp. Visual. Barometric Preasure . Water color, time of year, and fishing knowledge to get the job done along with your equipment. Makes me feel more confident that i am not doing anything wrong. Thanks for showing that video. Fishing is truly fishing. Love your videos

Much like my less than fruitful fishing days, it's always a learning experience. Being that I struggle a little too often with new bodies of water, the best part of this video for me was that it reassured to see that even someone with as much fishing knowledge as you isn't always shredding it every single experience. Just started fishing last year and I'd like to say I'm self-taught, but that wouldn't be true because your videos have been guiding me along the way. PB so far is a 5 pounder from a pond earlier this year, but I'm looking forward to more of your content that'll help me pump up those rookie numbers. Keep em comin!

want to say you are truly one of my favorite fishing creators
You are very genuine and passionate about bass fishing and you don't only have allot of knowledge about it
but you also know how to break it down and teach it in a way anyone can understand which is talent in itself.
So I would say I like how you explain your thought process in your vid.
It's easy to see you take pride in what you do

I love these kind of videos. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I like your mind set about what to fish and how long to do it. Post frontal is tough for anyone. At least you were out on the water enjoying life.

I have fished for at least 50 years of my life(probably more). This year I have made a real effort to catch bigger and more large bass in the exact method you were illustrating. Pre-spawn into spawn and have come home skunked more then any pervious year. Being a plastics, worm fisherman and learning to try more then 3 or 4 lures. it is humbling to see a honest hard fisherman encounter the same things I have for the past 4 weeks, but with a little more luck. Given you caught 3. 69 and still trying to learn everyday!! Tight lines and good luck.

Because of you, Brother, I gave arc trust my trust I ordered two catalyzes to lancer pros, one Thorpe series, Money Maker, and one Brandon Carr, Brad, I love them I got them paired beautifully with a regal, spinning reel a Revo, X, and a Corrado and a Shimano SLX for the treble hooks on the medium rod, so I’m not ripping the hooks out of their mouth or Rippin lips away or are the roads are butter bro and you always keep it real in your videos and that’s what I like about it even if it’s a fail or miss or something you misinterpret like a pit boss, you know that skeet Reese was behind it, but he said something different, a different angler, and I commented, and you corrected it!
But what makes your channel and you who you are , who you are because you keep it real tie you are a good man and I love how you set up competitive moments within your own practice system that pays off and competitive moments no matter how the competitions working do you wanna friend local tournament or a local derby help youngsters out, take care of brother I would love to win and so with a lot other people that watch you take care brother I wish you the best man and stay safe😊 God bless

You show the good and the bad and I appreciate that...

Awesome video Tyler. I definitely appreciate the transparency of this video. It goes to show, that even anglers that have been doing this for years have days that some of us experience quite often. I had two outings where I got skunked before catching my PB, so it's super important not to get discouraged and always remember to have fun. As always, thanks for the content!

This is my home lake. 4 years ago I could consistently catch 5,6, and even semi-regularly 8 lb bass. Now, I'm lucky if I catch anything at all. Like you said, the north end of the lake is also much different than the southern end. It's generally deeper, but I've caught all my northern fish in shallow water. The southern end is shallower, but I only get bites on deep structure. Doesn't seem to matter much what the weather or season is.

I have two favorites.. actually seeing a fail. That's real fishing. It felt like me some days, even on my home lake. Some would have edited or never shown all the work (and fun) in that day of fishing. It's refreshing to see someone keeping it so real. The other favorite is seeing where to get your hat lol. I'm heading over there now!

Developing confidence in an array of techniques to target fish as they are “moving” depending on the specific conditions encountered on any given time of day or body of water. Much peace y’all.
