  • @dlcarburetor
    @dlcarburetor Před 2 lety +15

    Good run-through of the features. Looks pretty good for the price. What's missing here is the depth of audio processing that will give the ability to tune a system fully flat. What I mean is, a 15 band graphic EQ is limited. A single band parametric EQ only let's you fix one problem area. A very good DSP will have 30 band graphic EQ and minimum of 10 parametric EQ filters. I would pay double the price of this for the same interface design but with more processing. in some cases the ability to program via an app or PC is a must. However, sometime simple is better. i like the simple all in one design of the 2.8X. I am not bashing this DSP unit. I think the price is affordable and I'm going to get one for use on my workbench for testing.

    you are very knowledgeable about the device itself and how to work around the settings, but you explained in the input parametric eq wrong, specifically the Q-Factor the tighter or the lower the value the more that will affect neighboring frequencies and the looser or higher the number the the less that will spread and affect neighboring frequencies. if you want to cut 63hz frequency or boosted without affecting 50hz or 80hz you will choose a higher number... but if you want round out more evenly and lower or boost everything around the 63hz you will go with a smaller number.

I don't know if this one has one and I didn't think about that so my bad, anyways I always use the subsonic filter on the amplifier anyways.. no need to use it on the DSP ,but yeah now that I think about it, it would be cool to have just a dedicated subsonic filter on a DSP.. I guess you're right....and the bandpass that I am speaking of I usually use on my mids and highs anyways, so once again and as I said, it's always a learning experience now for myself....

    yo, the larger the q, the more narrow the bandwidth is bro. 1 octaves = 1.414. 2 octaves Q = .667 the lower the Q, the broader the bandwidth curve of frequencies become, affecting more frequencies. the higher the Q, the more narrow the bandwidth curve of frequencies become, affecting less frequencies

    Seriously, every single video I watch just skips over the save feature, and I've watched several. Does it even work? I have tried to save and all I get is some stupid screen where they want a name input. I can't get past this to the actual save. Could you PLEASE tell me how to do this? I emailed the manufacturer this question and cue the crickets. I can't find it on google, YT, the manual, or anywhere else. PLEASE HELP.

      There is no saving - everything is saved as soon you set it! You can save different profiles but when you are doing adjustment whatever is set is saved already! even if you unplug the units all the settings will be saved when you turn it on back again.

    nice to see a DSP that doesn't require a laptop to use! having said that, there are things that could be better. ditch the stupid EQ presets, and use the processor power for more EQ bands. if you want SQ, a digital input of some kind is needed. a port for an (extra cost)external display would be a nice, allowing you to set the system from the driver's seat. all in all, looks excellent for the price.
