hi i would definitely take that washer off the float needle holder because it will play havoc with your carb mixture, and stop the flooding to get the float height right i put a small pipe on the pilot jet and bend it up to the button on the float bowl cover hope that helps in any way, but looking very good, with kind regards Adrian.

Great video! I had the same problem with getting the choke cable to fit. It seemed like it was just too short, the cable. So you cut the outer armored cable shorter? Thanks..

do yourself a favour, if you're going to replace jets on an old AMAL carb that has done a lot of miles or you're un sure of its history replace the needle jet, its made of soft brass and over time does wear, giving a rich mixture, the stainless needle not so much. Also get genuine parts from burlens like you have as there are three different types of needle jet for monobloc , concentric and mk2 concentric....some ebayers dont know the difference and will send you anything.

I have since replaced this carb with a new (correct for year) concentric, still running a bit rich even with this (video in playlist).
I have an A65 cam fitted so engine is not stock and more experimenting with main jets is required.
