  • Creating a simple calendar in LibreOffice Calc is not very difficult. You just need to follow these steps:
    1. Open a new spreadsheet and select the cells from A1 to G7. These will be the cells for the days of the week and the dates of the month.
    2. Go to Format - Cells and choose the Date category. Select the format that you prefer for displaying the dates, such as 31/12/2023 or Dec 31, 2023.
    3. In cell A1, enter the formula =DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),MONTH(TODAY()),1). This will display the first day of the current month.
    4. In cell B1, enter the formula =A1+1 and drag it to cell G1. This will display the rest of the days of the first week of the month.
    5. In cell A2, enter the formula =A1+7 and drag it to cell G2. This will display the second week of the month.
    6. Repeat step 5 for cells A3 to A7 and drag them to cells G3 to G7. This will display the rest of the weeks of the month.
    7. To add some colour and formatting, select the cells from A1 to G7 and go to Format - Conditional Formatting. Choose Formula is from the drop-down menu and enter =WEEKDAY(A1)=1 in the formula box. Click on Format and choose a background colour, such as light red, for Sundays. Click OK.
    8. Repeat step 7 for Saturdays, but use =WEEKDAY(A1)=7 in the formula box and choose a different background colour, such as light blue.
    9. To add some borders and alignment, select the cells from A1 to G7 and go to Format - Cells. Choose the Borders tab and select a border style, such as thin lines, for all sides. Choose the Alignment tab and select Center for both horizontal and vertical alignment. Click OK.
You have now created a simple calendar in LibreOffice Calc. You can adjust the size of the cells, add some titles or headers, or change the fonts and colours as you like. How to create a simple calendar in LibreOffice Calc. LibreOffice Calc tutorial.
