    Nice, that's massive kitchen for a campervan, I'd be happy with that in a studio flat.
    I love that fridge, was hoping to get one of their dual zone ones eventually but the facebook group have convinced me to convert a domestic one to 12v or just use on the inverter which will save me a ton of money cause those things are soo expensive.
    Can't wait to see how you do your bed now.

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  Pƙed 3 lety

      Aye it’s definitely looks massive with all the counter space, but the bed will fold down from the other side on to it from the back doors to the electrical wall cupboards. Basically a humongous kitchen counter top in the bed is up and far smaller one when the bed is down. I’ll be making a video about the bed when I get round to it so you’ll be able to get a full understanding of at then

    This is probably too late after video production for you to see it... But... Did you consider turning your worktop into drillium? Eg drilling holes (i think about 25mm diameter) two thirds of the way through the worksurface in a lattice pattern.
    My thinking is it would reduce the weight where the strength isnt needed. But would keep the look of the chunky solid surface.

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  Pƙed rokem +1

      I am familiar with drillium! From a of my friends drilling out internals of kayaks to make them lighter. As for this worktop I’ve seen people router out 40mm to take some weight out. I went for 28mm but because it’s a cheaper oak butchers block I’d worried about taking too much material out because of the warping. But it was a weighty part of the van

      @@MispronouncedAdventures thanks.
      I'm on the hunt for some suitably sized seconds/offcuts for my work surface. I have some resin casting ideas to incorporate too, so the complexity of drillium as well might be too much.
      Ps ... Love your videos.
      PPS ... Your voice sounds so much like Sean Conway. With the awesome beardage as well I sometimes wonder who I am watching.

    Great video. I’m just coming up to this stage myself and have the same worktop in mind.
    As for losing the steel ruler, I’m currently misplacing things on every job. The more that goes in the harder it is to find 😂

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  Pƙed 3 lety

      I’m really like the wood top, even more with the slightly darker shade from the oil as I wanted that wood to be in a bit of a contrast to the other bits wood. Scary cutting into such an expensive bit of wood. Usually it’s a measuring tape which goes missing for days at a time. I’ve started to learn to keep my pencil behind my ear I don’t lose that anymore

    Hi.
    Really loving your build.
    I have a classic ‘72 Vw Bay Window camper, and as lovely as it is, it’s just not really as practical as it was, so thinking of selling and buying a bigger, more modern van like a high top tranny or similar.
    My question is to you, and forgive me for being vulgar, how much from start to finish, from an empty van, would it cost me to do a similar conversion like yours, cooker, fridge etc included?
    Great vids your doing.
    Stay safe.
    Regards.

    Can you get to the gloe plug under the fridge

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  Pƙed 3 lety

      As in the glow plug of the heater mounted under the fridge platform? yes. It’s a bit of a pain. But the remove the fridge and then bit it sits on for access and maintaining the heater if need be

  • @David_11111
    @David_11111 Pƙed 3 lety +1

    How will you service the heater ?

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  Pƙed 3 lety +1

      Generally I don’t as it’s unlikely it’s ever going to need to come out, If I’m unlikely I might have to one day clean the cylinder or replace the glow plug. If that’s the case I need to remove the 4 screws holding in the fridge and then the screws holding in the fridges frame, I on purpose didn’t glue those joints so if potentially I need to access the Heater I could
