    Canados isn't a brand you hear about alot anymore. I was going to say this yacht feels like a Swedish spa with all the wood amd light colors. Tons of room, nice layout and beautiful decor. Impressive yacht in many regards. A real charter magnet.

  • @grondhero
    @grondhero Před 11 měsíci +5

    That's a sweet yacht. I like how the 'private owner's area' is actually private and not one of those where you can approach it from outside the owner's room as well.

    • @YachtAddiction
      @YachtAddiction  Před 11 měsíci +1

      The ensuite connected to the private foredeck was really cool in my opinion!

      @bryduhbikeguy Před 11 měsíci

      Uh...There's stairs from the 1st deck up to the main outdoor dining area right outside the bedroom doors.I'd guess that the owners decide when they allow people up though.

    • @grondhero
      @grondhero Před 11 měsíci

      @@bryduhbikeguy The owner's private fore deck does _not_ have any access to it other than through the owner's room itself. 9:50

    Writing as a chef and boatowner, that's an inadequate galley for a vessel with up to ten guests who'll be expecting a very high standard of food. Very little preparation area, a poor working environment, clearly given little thought by a designer distracted by other factors. Not untypical though, sadly.

    • @josephbrown363
      @josephbrown363 Před 11 měsíci

      Not seen the galley yet, but with that many bars, I think the need for fish fingers and chips would be secondary.

    • @ourfarmhouseinspain
      @ourfarmhouseinspain Před 11 měsíci +2

      @@josephbrown363 Well Joseph, I think you're probably right. This vessel is designed for the 'weekend on the boat with friends' crowd, isn't it, and will likely rarely leave the marina. I recall my own boat being moored for a time in a marina in Palma, close to a Ferretti called Afticra, an acronym. I asked a maintenance engineer about this, and he admitted to the same curiosity. The owner told him it stood for ' Another Fucking Thing I Can't Really Afford' . Truly brilliant, and completely unforgettable. Regards

      The galley works best for a relatively light, Mediterranean cuisine I think. lol

  • @philipmason3218
    @philipmason3218 Před 11 měsíci +3

    Thanks for bringing this one to us. It looks like the builder has tried to go for a bit of everything. Calling her an explorer is a bit of a stretch. The galley is way to small for long periods aboard, the same goes for freezer / refrigerated consumables. I'd prefer a couple of extra hands as well, she's a big boat requiring a lot of attention.
    I like the yacht, but it seems to be a jack of all trades, master of none.
    Very nice video, thanks Tony.

      I don't consider a GRP hull to be a true explorer yacht either.....but that's a quibble.

  • @johnschieffelin3226
    @johnschieffelin3226 Před 11 měsíci +3

    Thank you for the thorough video. I must admit this Canados yacht left me scratching my head. The massive open aft deck on the Canados is usually reserved for holding an array of big tenders on exploration yachts, but this boat uses it for a huge lounging area and a huge dining area, mostly open to the sun. The yacht has both a big aft tender garage and a side-opening tender garage so there is no need to store tenders on the aft deck. The size of the aft deck seems excessive for lounging and dining for the size of the yacht and most people today do not want to sit in the sun for long periods. I am also not impressed by placement of the owner's cabin on the top deck. A second socializing space in addition to the main salon is really desirable for most yacht owners, and this arrangement takes a second living space away.
    Next, why does an exploration yacht need a planing hull and 20- knot cruising speed? A planing hull is quite inefficient at displacement speeds, and the triple engines required to push this 143-footer gulp vast quantities of fuel and cramp the engine room. Most yacht owners looking for a true explorer yacht want an efficient displacement hull easily pushed by modest twin engines. The hull and power plants of the Canados do not seem ideal for true world voyaging. Perhaps this yacht is meant for owners who like the explorer yacht "look" but in fact use their yacht for high-speed Mediterranean harbor-hopping.

      Thanks for watching and I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. This is definitely a unique design that I think you either love or hate. The aft deck in particular will either be perfect for someones needs or it will be an area of disdain for others. The good news is there are many great options out there! Some people seek out something unique or specific and others want something more generic but satisfactory in all areas. I am always looking to tour a wide variety of designs and styles and it was cool to see what they came up with.

      The high dash speed is useful for hightailing it back to home base after a week spent pootling along the shore, a few hours at a time. It maximises the time spent Out There and ensures less time is "wasted" getting Back Here.
      The triple screws keeps the draught low and lets you get up close to the shore. Hence the trendy marketing name "explorer". At least they didn't call it "expedition"...

  • @visionist7
    @visionist7 Před 11 měsíci

    It's a very low key interior which some will prefer. I like glitz myself but there's a lot this boat gets right. The giant open "party deck" aims to maximise space where it's needed; few yachts are about indoor living. The inside dining table is just for decoration usually. Here it could be used for conferences with the TV.
    Rainfall showers for all the crew is extremely unusual even on a megayacht. First time I've ever seen it.

    Just add some pew stik safes and many pew-pews, lots of fishing gear maybe a chest freezer or two and a davit on the rear for hanging game and stay at sea for a year hunting & fishing the world. (maybe add a side by side or two with all that rear deck space)

    Hey Tony, nice deck but they are sacrificing a lot of space. With a 143 feet (42 mts) you should be able to do a lot more i,e the Mengi Yay video shows how to really use spaces even though is a two deck (a shame)..but like you say before its up to the owner how he wants it...thanks for the video

    They call that a captain's cabin? Pityfull small and not even a window. Tiny and awkward galley, and only room for 6 other crew, which isn't nearly enough for a 43 meter yacht. Not really inviting either (in my opinion) for guests, rather dismal in fact.

    • @grondhero
      @grondhero Před 11 měsíci

      It's very plain because it's brand new; hence all the 'shell posters' in the rooms. No one's going to keep them; they're there as place holders. Personally I don't like the wood stain, because it looks like unfinished lumber to me. A slightly darker wood with light carpeting and covers would look better for my tastes, but it shouldn't be too difficult to let the imagination see the potential.
