Robert Durst stands trial for the 2000 murder of friend Susan Berman. The trial began just before the pandemic in early 2020 and was halted two weeks in. The restart happened on May 17, 2021, with the same jury panel.
The defendant’s wife Kathleen McCormack Durst went missing in 1982. Evidence and testimony would show that Robert Durst killed her, the prosecutor said. The defendant allegedly told Berman it was an accident and asked her for help. She served as his alibi.
Berman, 55, was shot execution-style at her Beverly Hills home in 2000, and the prosecution suggested that it was because of what she knew about Kathleen’s death and disappearance. As defense lawyer Dick DeGuerin would have it, however, Durst is innocent. His client only came across the body, panicked, and fled, he maintained.

His shark eyes beading back and forth. I cannot imagine how scared Kathie must have been. She was living in a horror show. My heart goes out to her and her family!
Durst has some nerve disbaraging his wife, she was doing something with her life unlike him who never worked a day in his miserable life.
Anyone notice that by the end of a day of cross examination Durst "forgets" he is deaf and no longer needs to read the questions, but can hear the prosecutor. It is just another ruse to take time to think through his lies and also frustrate people or get sympathy. He is "The Picture of Dorain Gray." If you don't know the movie go watch it.
He also heard his defense attorney perfectly well and answered quickly....
Don't forget that this is the same court where OJ was acquitted.
Does that make a difference.

This man didn't even worry about eliminating a witness, ie Susan Berman. He took the lives of people he no longer had any use for and when there was expectation of them costing him money. What a worm. Make him squirm.
The irony is that if he had just given Kathie the $250K he would have saved millions and millions of dollars in attorney's fees and he would have his freedom! What a stupid stupid diabolical man!
It's clear. I know the type. He tells you that you are not good at anything, you will not finish what you started, you are not careful enough with him, you are guilty because you breathe, because he pays EVERYTHING. And if you shut up or take care of your business, you've escaped. if you want to change something about him, if you complain to others, if you revolt, you take it one on your face or you can even be ... dead. because his anger, when he starts, if he feels betrayed in his "justice" becomes endless. Then peace is installed ... and nothing.

The jury must be sick to death listening to his constant bull hour after hour. He needs a good slap.
@@hilaryfarrow2683 Yes! He is naughty! I know by heart this kind of individ. I have one perfectly the same, also Aries, 25th March in my house. Never he accept to allow get out his violences. I am happy to get all money in house and i stay all day out! But he became violent from nothing. With other women is so fancy. They are mad about him. "what a kind and protective man do you have, they say!". This kind of personality is very dangerous, with many faces, never attached, never involved. Never admit a separation!
@@hilaryfarrow2683 I was trying to get in my house an other cat. I have two and he decided that it's enough. When i came in with that cat, he took one of mine and he trew her violently out in the street, she hit my car. The both stay far from him from that event. After, he was immediately calm. My God, Mr. Durst killed those people!
I got rid of mine years ago. Now he’s dead Karma . But I can spot one a mile off. And Durst is a classic wife beater, despite what he wants you to think. Someone on the jury will pick this up. Best place for him is in a box.
The fact that Kathy was able to attend medical school and earn honors in this mentally and physically abusive marriage shows she was even more accomplished than average. This man was very threatened with her having her own money as a doctor because she could live a very nice life without him...and with a new guy,
I wish there was video of coverage of the Galveston trial...did it too seem like a slam dunk case for the state? We all know how that turned out. Also, the Durst team must be playing games to the fullest extent. The last week or two you can really tell the judge is getting fed up with them. His tone towards them seems to have changed substantially.

It was never a slam dunk in Galveston. There were no witnesses and he claimed self defense which is hard to disprove. His lawyers did a great job and he was (IMO correctly) acquitted. He was also an excellent witness. This time around is very, very different.
Interesting. Appreciate the feedback. Yeah. Seems like he's just being completely dismantled in this trial.
My question about the Galvaston trail is how did he get when he cut the man body up and put in a lake. That was weird.

Every time Lewin asks bob a question, you can see bobs mind working to come up with some BS reply. Bob cant give a straight answer. Would an innocent man lie as much as bob does? Granted, Lewin is taking the long long way round lol, but he does come up with some diamonds now and then when he catches boberto in one of his lies. Funny how bob will be honest when he is not in court, like with the DVD commentary for All Good Things with Jarecki, but then in court he will down play or alter his version of events. "yeah i pulled her hair" "no, i pulled her coat and hat". LMAO. There seems to be no direct evidence to convict bob and so i dont see bob being charged, but god damb is there a mountain of things that suggest he killed kathy & susan.

I hate the defensive tactic of disparaging Kathy. We all know she's dead and most likely died at his hands. He's a monster 👹 and needs to take what he gets and stop perjuring himself.

This prosecutor just comes off as arrogant.
I think it can come across as arrogant but I think his motivation for his line of questioning is similar to Juan Martinez line of questioning except that this prosecutor's style is slower and a bit more thorough so to speak. First, I think he's treating Durst in this fashion because he's fully aware of Durst's compulsion and ability to manipulate information and so he is exposing bits and pieces of prior manipulations and lying. Second, I think this line of questioning is meant to expose how ludicrous his answers/explanations are especially in light of what you learn regarding his personality and past actions.
I disagree however when you spend years and years preparing for a trial & know the facts inside out like Lewin does, you get to be a little arrogant. Especially when you’re cross examining a heinous liar like Durst.
