- Welcome back to the Blossom Crochet tutorial channel! I will show you how to crochet THE most incredible stitch! This 'Half Spiked' Granny Stripe is a great dense project and super easy to work up once you get going - just a TWO ROW REPEAT! It's absolutely STUNNING when worked in rows of contrasting colours.
I'm using Ice Yarn Picasso Rainbow and a black contrast.

The colors you’ve chosen are absolutely gorgeous! I love working a pattern that carries the yarn up the side so there are fewer tails to weave in. I don’t really mind the weaving in, but I feel that the project is more secure with less knots joined.

a super simple and effective colour stitch. I’m using it for a flat rectangle that will be folded in half and stitched together to create a doll’s beanie. Love this

Love it love it love it!! The stitch and the contrast of the colors, it’s absolutely beautiful 🤩❤🤩 and another plus is that by alternating the colors every two rows, you can save time in weaving the yarn. Any suggestions for a simple border? 🤔

Just started a baby blanket using your tutorial and love the way it is working. I found it best for my tension to use a size larger hook for the chain and foundation row. Any suggestions as to a suitable border for this please?

Yes, definitely! It could make a rectangular or triangle shawl using these stitches 🌈
@@BlossomCrochet I would love a triangular one. I could do a rectangular one from your instructions but don’t know how to turn it into a triangle.
While I avoid working with black, because, well, I can't see it. Being that the black would mostly be grannies, I could do this. It really is a stunning contrast.

It is indeed Ice Yarn! 🌸 Any border would work so long as you used a round of UK Doubles (US Singles) first, to cover the yarn being carried. :)

What black yarn are you using? I’ve bought the Picasso but my favourite yarn is Scheepjes Chunky Monkey and it’s too thick, I think.
I used a black Aran weight yarn and that seems to pair up nicely with the Ice Yarn 🌈🥰

I’d work a round of U.K. double crochet all around and then you can build any border you like on top of that 🌈 I’m think I may do moss stitch - alternating between the two colours ☺️

Yes absolutely! You can use any yarn that you like - I just liked the bold contrast with these two shades ☺️🌈
Are you chaining one and turning work
Hi Kathy, no, I’m not chaining, I just turn my work and then work that starting stitch straight into that first stitch from the row below 🌈
How many chains did you start with on the blanket that has the black in
It was just a sample piece but I chained 39+1 with my 4.5mm hook ☺️
What's rhe rainbow will you used please??

This looks similar to the half spike granny stitch. Not sure though.
How do you get the ends to be even
The top and bottom? I finish on a row of traditional granny stitches and then add a row of U.K. double crochets - that way the top and bottom are pretty much the same 🌈
How about some left-handed directions

Hi! Love the colours you showed in the beginning! 😍 However, it is hard to follow you because you aren’t showing where you are crocheting into one of the stitch. And you didn’t say the additional chains after doing the multiples of 3. I gave up on this and found someone else on CZcams who has done the same pattern.
Adding three additional chains isn’t necessary when working this stitch pattern which is why I didn’t do that in my tutorial 🌸 Sorry to hear you couldn’t follow along!
