I think I bought this game with the Christmas money we were given to buy others presents. 🤣 This was the only fighting game I owned for the SNES and my friends had MK or SF2.
My brother and I rented this once. I don't think we got past stage two or three. One thing that makes this more difficult than it needs to be is that you MUST use the level four beam to finish off the monster. That fits the aesthetic of the source material's genre well, but for a fighting game (where you usually win as soon as the opponent's health is depleted) it adds an extra step. That said I do love all things kaiju related, serious, corny, high budget, and laughably (hey the zipper is showing) low budget.

I only ever played the PS2 game, just called Ultraman but it was a lot of fun. And this looks fun too.
