- This whole concert is magnificent and I am loving the editing and re-mastering process, song by song. Eventually, I will have reach the end, but in the meantime, I hope you are enjoying the results. Lucky is just what we need in these times.
"Back to My Roots" is one of Lucky Dube's early hits. This exceptional performance captures him just as he just as he was peaking in energy and excitement on his second tour of the U.S. Shot at Bay Street, in Sag Harbor, New York in the summer of 1990, this concert features 90 minutes of non-stop motion and sound-not just from Lucky, but from all the members of his wonderful band, The Slaves, as well. In this song especially, we need to big up his background singers, Thandie Sikhutshwa, Ntombi Mtshali and Bhere Shandu.
Give thanks to the Step Lively crew: cameramen Earl Solomon, Stafford Ashani and Lee, as well as Preston Powell, the staff and management of Bay Street, and the great sound techs. Could not ask for a better live mix.
Thanks as well to Richard Siluma for his assistance and to Lucky for his accessibility and the brilliance and exuberance that we all love and miss so much. Rest in peace with eternal blessings, Lucky. - Hudba

We africans did not celebrate him enough..... My legend you live on
The dead aren't really dead, they just sleep.
I had no idea how great this man was until it was too late. I rewatched one of the documentaries last night on him in which he spoke a great deal about his birthplace, grandmother, his early life, and much more. How many languages did he speak? He seemed mild mannered, clever, articulate, softly spoken, and unassuming. He talked about "the rest of my life" several times, little knowing there wasn't much of it left. It's a crying shame, he should still be with us.
Am still loving the king of reggae in Africa LUCKY Dube 🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬💯💯
Ayoo if you proud to be African let’s gather here.Outter Zimbabwe 🇿🇼

Lucky Dube is a prophet of Jah, his music lives forever, I am a Nigerian, no day can pass without me listening to his music. Thank Jah, I used his music as my phone ringing tune.
Brasil, saudações!!
Is Jah short for Jahweh or whose Jah?
I love this music so much
@urimbotjekuue YES it is if you like! RASTAS believe that Jah is inherent in each individual and people seem to think Jah is short for quite a few words, basically God but someone more knowledgeable than me will know.
