    Thanks for the review mate. Purchased one over the weekend when they had it on special for $599 plus $150 gift card. Would love to see a 12 month update when it comes to it. Fitting ours in the back of the canopy of our ute but for now just testing it out ourselves at home to make sure its all smooth sailing before mounting and locking it all in place.

      Mine is still going well. Can't fault it so far. The dual zone settings are my favourite part. The freezer has been super handy.

    Hi, thanks for the review. This fridge and the brass monkey 85L fridge at Jaycar, RTM are identical in just about every feature except for the door. The BM has a side latch. The LG Compressor is the same, the internal layout is the same, the controller is the same. Letting you know With setting the fridge temperatures, you either set it for the freezer as the master temperature setting and the fridge is the slave. This means the set temp of the freezer will stay between +/-2 degC of freezer temp and the fridge temp will vary OR you set the fridge compartment as the master the set temp of the fridge will stay +/- 2 oC and the freezer temp will vary quite a bit. All fridges are like this as there is only one refrigeration system in the unit I purchased the Brass monkey version and have been testing it over the last few days. I put a power meter on it to see the current draw per day. With outside temp around 20degC it uses 24-25Amp/hrs per day and the working current draw is around 3.5amps (12V system). It'll be interesting to see what it is when it gets hotter. Further features- To turn the lights off for night mode hold the on/off switch for 3 seconds and the set lights go out. - The freezer box can slide out to make it one large fridge if you don't want the freezer (Haven't tried this so can't confirm as I want a freezer) - The BM fridge is bluetooth enabled, download the Brass monkey app and you can see set temps and make changes on your phone. Hopefully it'll be a good fridge, time will tell I guess.

    Leaks water in our bus, guessing it's defrosting and just leaks 2 bottom and out door. Lights are very bright and can't turn them down. We put a sock over it. Good 2 have a freezer.

      Do you know there is a way to turn the display off when the fridge is on? We don't have much issue with condensation but we live in a drier climate. Still love this fridge.

      Good review, did you get to the bottom of the current draw on 12volts? 2 amps at 240v can't be correct as that's 480watts which is 40amps at 12v. It only has a 15 amp fuse. Could be missing something but.

    • @AllThingsOutdoors
      @AllThingsOutdoors  Před rokem

      @@shaggamuffin supposedly it draws around 4 amps on 12 volt and 2 amps on 24 volt. The external 240v power supply only outputs 24 volts also for sake of efficiency.

    Hi, thanks for the review. But with all these comments regarding power use it gets confusing with amps amp hrs watts and the different voltages.. running on 12v with 200w solar, average sunshine, 100ah battery. How bloody long would it go for??? 3 days?

    • @AllThingsOutdoors
      @AllThingsOutdoors  Před 8 měsíci

      There are a whole range of factors that could impact power consumption. Ambient air temperature, installation, your temperature setting, air flow over the heat exchanger. If you weren't topping up the battery and in ideal temperature conditions I would say that the battery would last anywhere from 24 to 36 hours. If you get optimal sun on your panels you could extend that our to several days.

    • @garygibson7779
      @garygibson7779 Před 8 měsíci +1

      Yes , I get that there's a lot of factors but when comparing different brands, it'd be great if they could stick to 1 standard for power usage cheers

    Thanks for the review. So how has it been going for the last year? Still working well or?
    There is still next to no info on these but ones come up for a good price so tossing up whether to get it.
    Seems like it may have been discontinued?

    Hi! Do you have an update after a few weeks? I notice they’re back on special at Anaconda and I’d like to pull out the crappy old gas fridge in our caravan. Thank you 🙏

      Hi I just bought one yesterday and it seems to be fine. I changed the door to make it open the other way & it was very easy. In the video the guy says something about needing another power source off his waeco, disregard that. I bought an Anderson plug y junction. 1 end to the fridge, 1 end to the supplied 240v power adapter & the other end to my 12v power supply. ( I rang ezytrail and discussed this with their technical team before doing this) That way the day before you go caravanning, plug the 240 lead into an extension lead and it will run it without draining your battery’s. Also he said his is quiet, mine is a little noisy. Nothing too bad but you can definitely hear it running. My freezer took about 20 mins to hit -18 and fridge took about 1 hr to hit 4 degrees. So far I can’t fault it. I also removed the 4x bottom rubber feet which now makes the fridge overall height 782mm

    • @AllThingsOutdoors
      @AllThingsOutdoors  Před rokem +1

      @@jakehoole860 I'm not sure what your 12 volt system setup is like in your caravan but just be careful with running an external power supply into the system like that. You can potentially introduce unprotected voltage into your caravan's 12 volt system. Maybe think about installing a one way diode on the 12 volt line from your caravan battery to your fridge to stop potential being introduced to the wrong side of your circuit protection. My Waeco power supply you mentioned in your comment has built in circuit protection where it cuts my caravan supply to the fridge when it senses 240 volts thereby preferencing 240 volt to save battery life and also protect against backflow.

      @@jakehoole860 Thank you! Just one thing though, doesn't the 240V adapter supply 24v into the fridge? Could that be a drama feeding back into the 12v system?

      I managed to purchase a dometic coolpower MPS 50 on clearance the other day from anaconda. Had an issue connecting the Anderson plug with a 12v plug. Instead I connected the fridge Anderson plug to a “KT Cables 50 AMP Heavy Duty Connector To 3mm Forks” from Supercheap Auto. You can screw the forks onto the C terminals of the MPS 50. Has worked perfect since.
