I’ve learned so much from you and much more to learn. Just want to say regarding selling your items, don’t be shy about asking for the price you deserve and don’t be manipulated!
Then if you feel like throwing in a bonus that’s your choice.

    Cool vintage stuff!
I’ve gotten a few oddball things similar from a guy. Tons of thin little wires like that, but some good gold recovery: fingers, backplanes, potentiometers-many silver plated, but some even gold plated potentiometers. Very nice.👍

Thanks for the vid. Totally understand your outlook towards the scraping game. People dont seem to get time and stuff involved yes its free. but your van petrol tools advertising. That cost lots of money. I love seeing the old vintage cards. I get that excitement looking at them. Them gold pins. Wow 😂

old machines work with old tapes of long lost mums dads granny grandad lost brothers sisters who people in family's never get seen things are not all about vast money but people set up studios to bring them back to the eyes that never saw them, I think that alone is a good reason to be abled to mend mixed media anyway good luck in all you do mate

at 3:43ish. when you're looking at those amazing spidery looking gold capped ICs, you read off a 4 digit number, 7435. That's a date code for sure, 35th week of 1974! Ollld schooool.

As people have said they are transistors if they have 3 legs. As well the large egg shaped ones drilled down into heatsinks are also transistors
I saw you hesitating when you were looking at those. The tall ovals as i said are always transistors!

Hey Ben, so happy to see a video from you this morning. At 19:50 once you decided to turn it in for irony aluminium I would break out as much of the backplane board I could for the recovery. EDIT: Too funny how 2 guys thousands of miles apart come up with the same idea at 59:30. I love the older backplanes. The connectors can be run through a milling process like IC chips. Have a great week my friend.

Great vid. Been wondering if you've heard of Mint recovery in Sydney? Think it's the first of its kind in Australia. Might be the best way for you to get all that value out of all the items you've saved over a decade and might even be worth a road trip up the highway. If you ever do it, it'd make an awesome video.

the reason you dont sell a lot of stuff mate is as soon as you have been inside or pulled cards with mole grips seeing bits you like there worthless your better sell the full unit interested collectors will make an offer and like your resellers need to make there cut on it so as someone making all that old stuff work . Lets face it your getting them for nothing , the guys mending these things can spend up to a year making them work, "some even longer" to make a turnover giving you there full value of making it work were is there mark up... you go to vintage selling sites but there will not tolerate stuff messed with. THATS WHERE THE REAL MONEY IS card pullers no one wants them , and mate that not said with anything against you , its when you mention vintage you need to respect the buyer like any other sale when you want regular buyers
