No version of McGregor could handle Do Bronx, we've seen Charles be dropped by more powerful fighters and better boxers, yet he always comes back to finish them. Also, the reason he takes so much damage is because he doesn't move his head, even if he only slightly develops this skill, he'd basically be invulnerable given his recovery. But I agree with you that Conor's only chance is a flash KO. Unfortunately, Charles has pretty decent kickboxing, he's taller and therefore functionally longer, and his clinchwork is the best in the division, which is to say nothing about his groundwork which has given him two UFC records. Honestly, I think Charles would hold his own on the feet, and certainly finish Conor on the ground.

@@zuko7655 Charles will give Conor the most problems because I think the current version of Charles is just that good but his one and only weakness being his lack of head movement and suspect chin plays right into McGregor’s biggest strengths. Especially since Charles is a come forward fighter and Conor is a counter puncher. Dustin gave him more issues since Dustin is better standing up than Charles and Dustin is a back foot fighter. The first fight he beat Dustin since Dustin came forward that fight because he was pissed at him. Gaethje given a good leg recovery will be an easy fight since he doesn’t have to worry about grappling in fact he might even try to clinch with Justin and he’s a better striker overall than Justin. And he’s a lot more dangerous. Compare both their fights with Cowboy. If the leg recovery isn’t 100% Justin can beat him with the leg kicks. But remember Justin lost to Eddie and Conor made Eddie look like he didn’t even belong with Conor. Islam is an easy stylistic matchup since he has a glass jaw and you have to keep in mind Conor is the only person who fought Khabib to ever put off offense on his own on the ground with elbows which hurt Khabib pretty good round 1. Against Islam that would be more meaningful. And since Islam needed Khabib to coach him on how to do a kimura against a featherweight striker with double digit losses on short notice with no wrestling/grappling training I could see Conor defending submissions and landing elbows and making it to new rounds where he just has to land the one punch. Islam doesn’t have the same level of head movement that Khabib did so it will be a lot easier. The version of Conor who fought Khabib or Dustin 2 or Dustin 3 would beat Gaethje and Islam and have a decent shot against Oliveria.

Let’s not believe he deserve it.Its not about who/how you beat a guy just just before… MMA MATH DOES NOT WORK LIKE THAT ! Before Gaethje fought khabib, he was 4 and 1 in last 5 fight. Not to mention he did it in a year and half. While that of Cornor last 5 fight before he is suppose to skip the queue, he was 2-3. It took him 4 and half year. The only reason cornor should get to skip queue to sell PPV which lightweights are doing just fine so no need for desperate action. What is the major difference between Charles last 10 fights in ufc fights and khaibibs last 13 fights in ufc?
It's Same div, same time, both got the belt and defended it, Charles has 9/10 finishes and Khabib had 6/13
    Khaibib beats
    McGregor Ghethje Porier Iquinta..
Charles beat Lee Ferguson Chandler Porier..
Honeslty if he beats McGregor and goes onto best Justin , regardless of the order of the 2 I think he is above Khabib...
The only criticism is loses on his resume, but when you fight almost 3 times the amount of top 15 opponents then the other guy,
The fact khaibib was undefeated is still impressive but it doesn't grant him any more then what he done, no other sport is calculated Ultimately by having less loses then more wins, tempted to say boxing is maybe a exception but honestly,
If Floyd lost a fight or even several fights but also got the same 50 wins he got,
he is still one of the greatest of all time
however If he walks at say 25-0,
Even if at that moment in time he is the best in his class,
he couldn't of just walked with that record of maybe a handful consisting of a few top 5 fights and titles with 20 record builders,
and then ever claim to be the greatest of all time.
Being undefeated while having legit longevity at the top is another story like Jones, but even so look at ppl like GSP Aldo Silva etc they still make the GOAT list for almost everyone, regardless of losses, its the actual meat of the wins, belts, finishes agaisnt top level opponents the heights they achieved over their career that certified them.
but now seems like cause khaibib was undefeated and many ppl desperately want to call him a goat, they are starting to create these new narratives like the quality of opposition doesn't really matter for 90% of Ur career just Ur WL ratio, and winning 10-8 rounds and getting a big decision win is more dominant then actually finishing them.. and Charles can never be a contender for goat cause he took to many loses when he was fighting top 10 UFC fighters when he was 22... As if he just stayed in Brazil regionals and stacked up 20-0 agaisnt far far far easier competition then came in and went on this 10 fight run he would be 30-0 right now and probably the clear goat?

Gaethe v Oliveira isn't going to sell nearly as many PPV as Gaethe v McGregor. Fighters calling out Conor for the past few years have mostly sounded pathetic. Either for a title fight or for the "honor". Truth is there's no point in contesting a title if the guy challenging would realistically lose to most people in the top of the division. There was a time when Conor was dangerous enough to intrigue me no matter who he fought. Before his injury he already abandoned what made him so great which was his movement. So we're supposed to believe he can somehow remain competitive, let alone win, coming off a bad leg break and gaining a comical amount of weight. It's hard as a fan to get excited for a match when the only promotional selling point is how much money the champ is gonna make.
