      Great video, sweetie. There’s always something to do on downtime, cleaning and servicing equipment working in the barn all kinds of things people don’t realize that you bring out in the videos. You’re an amazing hard-working woman that’s for sure. Keep it up. I hope you get the mower fixed soon.🤗

    Hey Taylor on your new air nozzle put a 2 or 3 foot piece of copper tubing on the nozzle crimp the end down slightly make it easier to get in holes and behind shields and it gets the debris a little farther away from you

    • @cdfps750
      @cdfps750 Před 26 dny +2

      The copper tube has an advantage over the OSHA nozzle. OSHA nozzles are designed to prevent "dead heading" which is when you push the nozzle into something and block the nozzle thus creating full line pressure at the tip. This can be dangerous if the dead heading happens against your skin, line pressure can be more than blood pressure and you blow air inside you which is bad (embolism bad). When cleaning though, it is good to be able to dead head because you can get full pressure behind a clump of dirt and blow it out with full line pressure. The extension is a great idea and most if not all commercial extensions have a bend at the end for getting behind things, but it also helps direct the blowback froom your head. Air is very dangerous because eyes are very fragile and by definition when one is working your eyes are pointed at the work.

      Also pressure washing Also a better way to start cleaning , than doing a little blowing off before greasing well before going out to work equipment .
      Clean oiled chains can last three , four , five times longer than ones that are full of dirt and oil .
      That use to be in the operation manuals when I was young .
      But I'm just an old fart now .

    • @donaldbienski1401
      @donaldbienski1401 Před 26 dny

      Drill a few tiny holes at the end of copper tubing, should prevent dead heading @@cdfps750

    A really good pressure wash/steam clean would make that thing run phenomenally better after you’ve got it all cleaned out with the copper tubing, air nozzle extension

It’s great how you show us all of the details of what you are doing and how it plays a part in the workings of the machine. Another great video, it’s good to get amongst the machinery. The bearings on the rollers on your Baler can be damaged by over greasing as much as not being greased at all. Too much grease pops the seals and allows water and debris to enter the bearing. Your Baler was sold in Europe as a Welger and I was on the demonstration team in the UK from ‘99 until ‘02. We always stressed that those roller bearings only needed one pump of grease, per bearing, per day. Difficult to gauge how much you’re putting in with the electric grease gun but I’d suggest maybe you’re over greasing. Better to do little and often, the bearings will thank you for it!

    Taylor i hate itchy dust i use a long blow gun for stuck dust and i use leaf blower in the field to blow my knotters and all build ups and keep chains, dried bearings lubricated to prevent sparks, i know a girl who almost lost her round baler from sparks and a small fire near darkness she was terrified i had to come explain what happened. Taylor do you have a jug of water in your tractors just in case

    Taylor: love your videos. Bring back so many memories - milking 40 cows in a stanchion barn, two Surge milking machines suspended by surcingles, milk pail carried to milk house to be poured into a 10-gallon milk can through a strainer, milk cans cooled in a spring-fed milk vat, gutters shoveled by hand into the spreader (Dad reminded us not spread downwind!), loose hay, small square bales, small round bales (disaster!) , chopped dry hay (bigger disaster!), shoveling long driveway by hand so milk truck could get to the milk house, and many more!
    Questions:
    Can your closed captioning software be trained to speak farm language?
    Is there even one hay fork on the farm? Saves bending!
    Has Brent ever heard of Razor Crossman, auctioneer?
    Thank you! Ken, from Brunswick, ME

    Good job Tay!! Enjoyed your video--as usual! Cleaning out the baler is an important job. You were right about how the chaff and dust can interfere with baler operations, especially electronic stuff. But it can also start fires. How long would a fire have to burn in the baler to mess it up big time? Not long. And those big wads of hay/dust you pulled out; how long do you think those can smolder undetected? Cleaning out the dust, etc. is a very important maintenance job!
