Inside the REAL Summer Bay House!

- Ever wondered what the real interior of Summer Bay House looks like?
Wonder no more! Photos taken following the 2002 bushfire which destroyed the house, and from immediately following the restoration of the property - posted in 2010 on facebook, publicly available for nearly 8 years.
N.B. this montage isn't supposed to be particularly well put together. It was deliberately slap-dash; more to draw people's attention to the existence of these photos as I know many people have wondered and wanted to see what the house looks like inside.
I could have taken a lot more time to make a nice montage, with text explaining the layout, writing an in-depth backstory to the restoration, making it aesthetically nicer etc. But I feel as a fellow fan (or ex-fan) of the show, it's more important just to share the photos as found, and any questions people have, can be discussed together as fans, rather than deliberately keep them hidden until I decide I'm ready to share, as if I'm somehow entitled to be aware of their existence, but others aren't until I say so. How repulsive that stance would be! :)
So - enjoy!

I lived in that house while they filmed it was so neat haha you'd get waken up at 6am with camera crew all coming up to get ready to film
Awww did you
How intersting, i thought they filmed in the actual house. It's truly stunning.
love the old sandstone type blocks even the chimneys built from them looks like they withstood the heat from the bushfire
It's so cool seeing this.
So many memories!
Looks so strange inside, like a very old mansion.
This is awesome! Thank you
Home and away Monday to Thursday 7pm on channel 7

@@MVK123 why are you being so horrible?
My god I didn't realise the house got destroyed in a bushfire I mean seeing it's now it doesn't look like it was destroyed at all it just looks like the slates on the roof were changed
this is why no scenes took place outside the house for many years.
SummerBayJournal I noticed when was the house done up and is it an actual home r just used for filming
It's an actual home, that's why the interior looks different to what we see on screen.
Oh and it's a beautiful home god it's awful to know that it was destroyed in a bush fire , the summer bay house reminds me of my house well the location
@@SummerBayJournal l thought the house was built by the production team and that it was just basically a shell...are you saying it's a privately owned house that people live in, like the houses in Neighbours?
have always been intrigued to know what the little outbuilding was on the corner of the verandah with its own chimney stack? ..It doesnt seem to be there with the new build???
Not quite sure what you mean, sorry?
looking at the old house from the back there was a small outbuilding on the corner which seemed to be part of the verandah sort of blocked in ...looks like , if ive got the internal layout correct, behind the kitchen, with its own low chimney stack as if it was maybe a second kitchen with a coal ranger or boiler...i used to see it on h and a.....it seems they didnt build it back in with the rebuild...have a look see if you can spot it...
@@buildersi6777 If you mean the part of the building that "stuck out" (and didn't have a verandah around it) then yeah I believe that was a kitchen and laundry room. You're right, it wasn't included in the rebuild, and instead the verandah goes all the way around that part of the house. Instead, a "built in" part was put around the opposite side instead, where previously there hadn't been one, but that part of the house was never shown onscreen anyway.
yes thats what i was trying to say! so it was a kitchen and laundry ok cheers for that i thought so...and yes i have noticed the other part theyve built this time round the other side that wasnt there before ... also gable over the front entrance...it seems that is ornamental and isnt accessed from the "attic" bedroom..?
@@buildersi6777 Yeah it's just decorative. It certainly adds a lot of grandeur to the house but there's nothing up there it's just hollow lol.
How the F..K Pippa cooked in that SMALL ASS KITCHEN🤣🤣🤣Ill never know, haha
SuperPip could do anything!
@@SummerBayJournal Yeahhhhh but,which one?hahaha🤣
