I laughed so hard when, in The Hounds of Tindalos,
the guy who explored the outer spheres and writing the note found in the plastered room is implied to have literally wrote out "AHHHHH" at the last moments, as it is read out as part of the charred notes lmao.
That's one of my favorite tropes in this era of writing. They mix together different storytelling methods in a really interesting way that also end up with really hilarious scenarios like this one if you stop and think about it for a moment.
Thanks for compiling all of your work together in a couple of videos!! I've listened for a long time, but it's still astonishing to see how much you've recorded when it's all together like this!

The Seven Geases is probably one one of my favorite stories, so descriptive and mystical as well as disturbing it’s quite the literary journey. Especially the part where he encounters what essentially amounts to what we could be if we could withstand the cosmic truth without obliteration to our minds.

Librivox is worth checking out they're free, (read by volunteers,) and there's a lot of interesting and quit obscure public domain stuff there, although several other, (monetized,) channels download the stuff that Librivox have produced and try to pass it off as their own.
I actually think that Audible is quite expensive and much of their output pretty dull once you've exhausted their best output, (Ian M. Banks, Pratchet, etc...) but I suppose there aren't that many really good popular writers available to begin with.

The pacing in your story is spot on. The gradual escalation of tension is like a slow burn that culminates in spine-tingling revelations. I'm eagerly anticipating the nightmares this is going to give me!

Just when I've reached 100% saturation in terms of cosmic horror narrative patterns & can't escape having "heard it all before", HB goes springing "The Space Eaters" on us, w/language & a narrative cleverly different enough to make it novel & therefore fun, kinda' like the must-see CH film Glorious (2016). Excellent again, HB!

"Hydra", much like "The Thing on the Doorstep", is one of those stories where the title offers you a false sense of security. Yeah, yeah, we know what a Hydra is... Oh... Oh no. The heads! The heads!!!!

I have answered the call for a second time. A strange voice rings in my ears telling me of these who should not be named. Warning me of that which breaks all human comprehension. My mind tries to form the vast darkness into shapes of recognition. Only to fall short of any detail.
These words echoed from ink to sound. Tied by a thread of understanding; that which has been written should not be spoken. That which has been heard is forever immortal. A Babbling Horror that will never die and forever reside within the recesses of my mind.

Terrific comp (terrific in the archaic sense, too). Return of the Sorcerer has classic vibes. Up there with Lovecraft himself in its building of dread and its imagery. Reminds me of The Thing on the Doorstep.

'The Treader of the Dust' is new to me. Absolutely love that compact tale of discovery and horror. All of this series is brilliant. As a Tsathoggua fan, I'd love to hear a Horrorbabble version of Ashton Smith's "The Testament of Athammaus" some time in the future. It's basically The Terminator, but written in 1932.
