Its actually so cool that LEGO has made sets like this, it almost opens a whole new world of possibilities with LEGO 😃 Also, great video man, informative and entertaining 👌👍
any motor can also generate electricity
You missed something. The battery is so old, it is uselessly dead. The battery is deceased. You need to replace it.
In Germany it costs only 15 $
Those batteries are NiCad (Nickel Cadmium,) they require you to charge them on the wall to 100 % then discharge them to 0% BEFORE using renewable charging or else you destroy the cells and it won't hold a charge.
Any motor can generate electricity, the E-motor was just designed to do so more efficiently than other LEGO motors. Unfortunately it's actually pretty crap as a motor, doesn't have good torque or speed or size, so it's a good thing it's better than any other motor at being a generator, it's otherwise pointless to use.
Next thing you know, Lego releases Nuclear Power Plant sets that actually produce power lol. 😂
I say go steam ya go back to steam trains!!!😂
its a fricking solar panel. clickbait
I actually have this set, i thought that i got ripped off because i couldnt figure out how to use it and i thought you had to have a NXT Brick. Btw it might be a little hard to charge.
It is possible the battery inside the Energy Storage unit is dead, it is 14 years old after all.

Great video!
Honestly Lego should bring back these sets for younger generations and maybe or older ones to
This is awesome! Hopefully LEGO will do a re-release or something similar again in the future. Would love to attempt a solar train ☀️🚅
I have 3 of those sets lol. Did not even know they were so expensive.
At one point the motors will wear out though
lego spike, ever heard of it?
Make a part 2 please! And try to place the windmill on the car, and next time check so the gears work before you try the new stuff. Great video!
Finally, a set with Power functions E motor
