I also just installed one of these. I didn't want my electric trolling motor to shut off(so I could still control it with the wireless remote and bring the boat back, also don't want it shutting off when spot lock is on) so I just T'd it into the main motor kill switch. I wired the MOB power into the purple accessory lead from the ignition so it will only power up when the key is turned...no seperate switch needed and works like factory. Its also on an Evinrude G2. Great system!

Would be even better if it automatically set an MOB waypoint on your electronics. That fly down aspect of drownings is exactly right. I was an OPP officer for 31 years and operated our launch 1 and 2 units in search and rescue. A LOT of drowning victims where found with their pants undone. Pro tip. buy a piece of ABS tubing, when you have to go, stand in the middle of the boat and pee through the tube. rinse in the lake when your done and never balancing on the gunnel.

Seems like it shouldn’t be able to be disengaged at the fob. You could accidentally bump it, turning off the MOB feature. Is that a concern?

No, only thing that will shut it off from the fob once activated is either water pressure or being out of range. Have had it now for 4yrs and have never physically turned it off by pressing the fob
