Yes i was just like the rest bitching deep in my soul how off his kit is but until i played some matches he looks kinda the opposite , yeah we all know lore wise he should be more agressive ( as how ppl react about it) but his kit is more being the one who start teamfights which is something that Garrosh did in general lore wise too... he was always starting war with the alliance for whatever he wanted, but i don't know i'm more of team player so i have no problem with his role as a warrior class blizz could easily make him as the same as anyone who has a big axe (Darius,Axe and so on) so yeah Times Change!

I think Garrosh should have been some kind of bruiser. Tank/damage hybrid.
garrosh is a furious berserker who charges into battle without any armour that could slow him down. i had expected something more offensive, like artanis or varian.
You have a point, but he is also very tough and can take a beating. Him being a tank fits pretty well.

...except Garrosh has been Arms since Cata, and even the instances he fights in novel show nothing of 'furious berserker'. Also, the only instance where he gone figthing unarmored was a Mak'gora against Cairne.

No point of making same hero in MOBA. We already have enough Rushing Melee Dps.
They call him a 'solo tank' here, which seems like they're making him a bruiser rather than an all-out tank. His kit emphasizes his ability to knock around the enemy team, and increased healing + armor at low health (and Body Check's bonus with more armor) means he's actually more powerful the lower he goes. (And healers have an easier time keeping him up thanks to the bonus armor) And as a tanky bruiser with fairly powerful relocation abilities (he throws the enemy team around) he can easily secure kills himself, AND he'll probably lead the team.
In short, Garrosh here is a boss.
Jimmysticks nice description, but in the end that is just sugar-coating mate. In no world is this Garrosh that we see in the spotlight a bruiser, I've had a few games on PTR with him already, and no.. that is no bruiser. He is a durable solo-tank with a lot of CC and play-making potential, same goes for ETC. And he doesn't do any good damage at all, it adds up after a while, just like johannas, but that's it, even muradin has a far far better kit to be considered a somehwat "high" dmg-bruiser. Look, the kit is cool, and everything, altho blizzard obviously ripped off other champions from different mobas, I can live with the kit, it is cool. But that my friend is no proper Garrosh, they could've made him as durable as sonya and give him a proper Arms-Warrior kit.

Hamstring, does little phyiscal damage and slows the enemy for a certain amount of time. Mortal strike! Does a lot of physical damage and reduces the healing received from the enemy for a certain amount of time (the healing reduction could be incorporated as a talent buff). And his last ability could be Heroic Leap, here how the ability works in WoW.

These are just some basic Warrior-/arms-fury (mostly arms based) abilites and talents that we don't have in hots as for now. AND THEY COULD make a lot of adaptation to these or they could make specifically adapted ones to Garrosh that he has ingame as a boss and what not.. the possibilities are endless
This makes me actually miss him in WoW... never thought that would happen.
I expected a Hellscream to be more of a berzerking bruiser than a tank. But this gives me hope that Grom may yet be a potential addition later on.

Which is the problem with Garrosh, using lore. Thrall had built around him a series of advisers who can give him insight into the workings of the world and a past to compare any choices to.
Yet he chose to completely ignore the advice of his advisers. That is what got him killed. Theramore was a case of using a weapon so abhorrent that these same advisers said it was BAD idea. What are the consequences of using such a device that could ultimately tear reality asunder? I mean, it doesn't take an Archmage to figure out that this is bad. Also, there is no better way to prove you are a bloodthirsty monster than to use such indiscriminate tools. And I forget, The Divine Bell....Y'shaarj's heart....Making too many bad choices cements one's place as a villian, regardless of station.
'Lore Microphone' dropped, now to mechanics.
The moveset chosen for Garrosh fits. What is it Fury Warriors do? Make a mess of things and get in your face. To do that, you need armor. A lot of it. You also need the ability to slow down opponents and target primary enemies for elimination. This is surprisingly what his true to lore fighting style mirrors, granted he doesn't rely on armor but his shear tenacity and skill at close quarters combat. It takes wits and strength to impale Taran Zhu on an axe blade with a chain pull, seriously. Taran Zhu is big mass.
+Sean Carrol He did not ignore the advice, they never gave it in the first place. Vol'jin pretty much gave him a death threat, cut all communications and Cairne challenged him to a Mak'gora because he thought it was Garrosh the one who sent orcs to kill everyone at the meeting between the nelfs and the tauren when in truth it was the Twilight's hammer cult. Later on he found out that Magatha poisoned his axe and exiled her.
By the time Theramore is nuked he has no "advisers" left, everyone tucked tail and carried out orders. His highest ranking officers were Malkorok and Nazgrim, Sylvanas is minding his own business and Lor'themar almost left the Horde to join the Alliance.
Despite all of this, Garrosh managed to fortify orgrimmar and streghten the orcs to the point both the alliance and the horde rebellion are needed to stop him. He is a strategist, he designed most of the Iron Horde's machinery, and the goblins made it a real thing, he could've bombed Theramore at any moment, but being the brilliant but ruthless tactician he is, he chose to do so when many of the alliance highest ranking officers decided to go there. Think about it, Theramore is the border outpost, the closest city to Orgrimmar and Thunder Bluff, what if they were planning an attack to any of those cities (since they had already attacked camp Taurajo and besieged the great gate to Mulgore).
To mechanics:
I wouldn't exactly qualify garrosh as a "fury" warrior and the description you have for them doesn't fit; Fury warriors are obviously inspired by the Berzerkers and they are more often depicted as beasts who charge into battle with barely any protection, ignoring the pain and fighting until they dies. This isn't Garrosh, this is his father, Grommash. Garrosh on the other hand is much more composed and tactic during battle, during his first phase he constantly shouts things like "Farseers mend our wounds!" while commanding his engineers to throw you Iron stars all the while more grunts come to join him.
The kit on itself is not bad, it just lack what made Garrosh Garrosh. An iron star ultimate maybe, the Old Gods corruption, things like these is what made him so unique.

Garrosh is without doubt one of the strongest and rage filled orcs, Son of Grom. He seems so passive with his playstyle, more focus on CC (Which is good don't get me wrong) but instead of swinging GOREHOWL it's like he's just casually hauling a normal axe around with little damage.
I agree with most comments, his ultimate's are really poor and uncreative. He has a advanced version of Diablo's toss for a normal ability and then Ults are: Taunt & Twirly axe? Wasted potential for one of the greatest characters from Warcraft guys. At the very least I was expecting an ultimate with pure rage behind it.
No, I just want him to have a more creative kit. He feels way too passive and what honestly feels mighty about him? Serious question. When you put one of the strongest orcs in someones hands you want that guy to CRUSH his enemies.
Giving him a taunt is pretty fitting considering how much everyone in Warcraft hates him.
So, swinging an ax barely half the size of you is considered strong, but smashing the earth with such brute strength that a twin-headed ogre, a prime evil, etc literally flies towards you and then throwing that guy over your head with only one hand over your head isn't? People nowadays (Sigh)
We won't argue the levels of strength in a game where multiple beings would tear the maps we play on into nothing but rubble within ten minutes. But I stand by the fact his kit is still very uncreative. They could have done much more with him, he was Varian's opposite in WoW and the King's kit is beautiful.
I agree. His kit is more about isolation and throwing an enemy out of position. Garrosh is the kind of character to throw HIMSELF into the enemy team. Someone that can spit someone's skull in a bloody battle. He should be a bruiser like Sonya or Arthas instead of a CC combo tank.

Muradin has a talent that is literally called "Dwarf Toss" so i don't think that law applies in the Nexus ;)

I was hoping that his movelist would be a bit more violent... seems really control-tank focused, when Garrosh was just a boiling cauldron of rage. Doesn't seem to quite capture that fantasy in my opinion.

Feel the same way, his model is really impressive and the animations look impactful but this is the first time I have felt that the hero just flat out has the wrong kit. In what world is Garrosh a tank? I get his trait is a nod to hearthstone but Garrosh to me has allways been about rage and fury, just like his dad and the Hellscream name.

Nothing here says "Garrosh". You can put this kit on any brute and it fits. Garrosh is a huge lore figure that has equal amounts of haters as he does lovers, how could you not give him something that only Garrosh could have? One of his Ultimates could've been a transformation into his Y'shaarj form, giving him stat bonuses or altering his abilities. You could maybe make his mechanic revolve around his transformation, becoming more corrupted as he takes damage. Another could've been throwing an Iron Star that'd roll around and wreck enemies it ran over. You could've used a short ranged chain grab like he used against Taran'Zhu, he could've had an Axe throw like he used against Thrall, or have it radiate void energy like in SoO, maybe even make it so that when he throws his axe he can't use his abilities until he picks it back up but he gains a lot of attack speed by punching people (because he's often displayed punching people). He could've had his Warsong ability that increases his allies health by 100% for a short amount of time instead of a taunt. Or something that allows him to ignore CC because of his brute strength. Maybe even take more Fury Warrior abilities as inspiration like Rampage. Bloodthirst is really underwhelming given its animation is a mere auto attack. There's A LOT of stuff that could've been used that wasn't.
Also why does he use his pommel for Warbreaker? Slam that axe hard into the ground like Sion(League) does, that feels way more powerful. In fact, blindly copying Sion's Q would've been so much better fantasy-wise and gameplay-wise. Now he's just pingponging other heroes instead of crushing them beneath his boots like he should.
Also I hate to be that guy but: Decimate is literally Darius's(League) old Q, it even has the same name. Warlord's Challange is a weaker version of Axe's(Dota) taunt. Wrecking Ball is Tiny's throw (I can forgive this because throwing units is a very iconic feature much like Pudge's(Dota) hook, which every Moba seems to have).
Garrosh is one of my favorite Warcraft characters and I'm very sad that he's treated like this :/
A second point: if you want to go full meme like his passive Armor Up, and make him a heartstone hero than go all out. Make his entire kit revolve around building as many armor stacks as he can, like how Death Knights generate bone armor stacks that reduce incoming damage but are consumed. Make it so his abilitites generate armor and that blocking attacks consumes those stacks. One of his ultimate abilitites could've been Shield Slam, where he consumes his armor to deal big burst damage that deals more damage depending on the amount of stacks consumes. Giving Garrosh an interesting risk-reward ult. Or an Brawl ultimate where everyone in an AoE around garrosh is forced to wildly attack eachother. There's a lot of stuff to find in Heartstone's version of Garrosh too.
Zivon Yeah.... it's pretty disappointing. I was so exited about his abilities as he is the first orc warrior that we got. I'm not that sad about it, but it would have been nice to see at least one iconic warrior ability like: Execute, hamstring, berserker rage ect or something more lore inspired.

Not very impressed with his kit to be honest. Is the only reason he has armor up because of Hearthstone? He isn't wearing any armor besides his shoulders. His Q bugs me since he slams the HANDLE on the floor and not the blade itself. Otherwise, this ability isn't too bad. His W is fine. It's a warrior ability, fits his character. All is good. His E sucks weenie. Doesn't fit Garrosh at all. He's a warmongering berserker, not a catapult. His ultimates aren't too bad, but I feel that I would have preferred something different. It's mainly his E that I'm not too happy with.
Of course, this is my own personal opinion.
I got really disappointed with his trait. It could have been anything but they decided to be this exact bullshit from Hearthstone... His E doesn't even deserve any comment and his first heroic is basically Galio's ult from LoL. Imo, they should have made him a multi-class hero with his second heroic being something like absorbing power from the hearth of Y'shaarj, giving him a new set of abilities for a certain amount of time + bonus dmg or something, turning him into an assassin. They had a ton of options for this hero and they chose the worst one...

Well it seems Garrosh and Kerrigan have something in Common in HotS now "Their Kit". Yes their kit are Fun but doesn't Fit them very well.

Kerrigan is one of the Old Heroes to have a wrong Kit
Stukov as well. He infests things and summons marines, but blizzard did a good job turning him into something new.
I don't play the game anymore, haven't since February... but Garrosh looks like the best hero that's been released in years. Not powerwise, but utility and balance wise. He looks like he's actually going to offer something new and fresh to the game.
Lobbing allies and enemies is a fun new take on Stitches and Diablo abilities; and I think that's a good addition.

If u think about it it is like garrosh charging the whole time, u just constantly running through the enemies and throwing them back to die whilst u keep charging for the squishier ones
We don't want a varian 2.0 and quite frank his ult taunt is just copy varians
They already covered all 3 warrior specs (albiet not in depth, but covered nonetheless) with Varian.
So one of the most badass Warrior from warcraft has cleave and taunt as his ultimates? ... Got'cha.

Adri Deca Agree, but you can't target it on specific enemy. Also Diablo Q is making the Overpower the skill you know. Same skill can be different on 2 different heroes.

Well diablo can pick who he wants and has the body block on it plus he can combo it with q and stun
It's more like Stitches gorge without waiting and slowly moving when they hit you with all stuns they have and you didn't make it to place you want.. And that who you ate, will kill you and run away :) This is lvl 30 talented ult every about 20sec . . . nice :D I think they are doing abilities for YT now.
Judging from the targeting reticle, it looks like Garrosh may not be able to choose who he throws, BUT he can choose where to throw them, whereas Diablo is just a 180 degree flip.

Glad to see a new main tank. One of the most satisfying things to do in the game was pushing people into boss stuns and AOEs with Alarak, now we have Garrosh. Throwing people into zombie wall, or roots or any lunar flare or lurking arm will be awesome.

Garrosh was also a Fury warrior...
Varian has only one weapon as well, Shalamayne. It was split into two through Onyxia's magic. Varian just picks up a random shield from the Ragnaros video encounter to tank.
Meanwhile, we have Garrosh tanking with Gorehowl, a 2h axe, that he could have easily used for fury/arms as well.

Audrey WTF IS THAT DAMAGE! I get that you could say that it's just for repositioning like Stitches Q but it's a cone shouldn't it deal just a bit more damage?
I kind of wished that they changed one of Garrosh's ultimates to Mak'gora, a single target ability which sets both himself and his target's health to 30%, also making them invulnerable to any abilities not dealt by either of the two heroes. That would've been great for picking out a healer or interrupting someone's abilities. The level 20 ultimate upgrade for him could be something like "Poison Axe," where he cheats the Mak'gora and deals poisonous damage with each bit of damage dealt to his target. Honestly, I can't see why Blizzard did not give him this, but nonetheless both of his ultimates are still decent. However, they really should have made him more of an assassin or even a multiclass, as Garrosh does not put up with much in the lore. He will become angry, he will scream, and he will berserk. He's not gonna take a few shots and shrug it off, he's gonna go insane. I feel that Blizzard had a massive opportunity to make a unique, appealing new addition to the multiclass category, but unfortunately made him feel like a squishier Stitches. In the future, I'd love to see Garrosh get a makeover for a few of his abilities in an attempt to make him more of a "balls to the wall" type of revenge/payback tank.
FotemoreProductions I liked this idea until poison axe, I mean I know where you got that part but I feel like it would've been better if it was something like: Warsong: gains a damage increase as well as attack speed increase for the duration of the ability (maybe even have it last longer since we are talking about at 20)
Its not unlikely that Blizzard might had such an idea. Problem is that you can make themed abilities as much you want if they doesnt fit probably in the game. I can imagine that Mak'gora would be dismissed because its not fun and frustrating for other players. Its pretty much an instakill without the possibilitie to do something against it.
I originally thought that an ultimate like this would have been a good idea for Alarak (as the rite of Rak'shir).
Garrosh had no idea about the poisoned axe, he later punished Magatha for that, literally throwing her to the Twilight's hammer.
I discussed this idea for a Mak'gora ult with a friend. It got pretty ridiculous but our idea was that he chooses a target and it creates a zone that pushes everyone but Garrosh and his target out that no one can enter or leave for six seconds, forcing a six second 1v1 fight. At level 20, it would cause all nearby players to watch the Mak'gora, forcing a six second stun to nearby enemies and allies. We were also thinking he would have a bleed effect so this move would basically stop the momentum of a group fight to watch Garrosh fight a hero. Here's the fun part, if Garrosh managed to successfully kill the hero he targeted, Garrosh's team gains a damage buff. If he CANNOT kill his target in the six seconds of his ult then the ENEMY team becomes inspired and gains the damage buff.
Perfect; love him!
The next Orc, the bruiser, NEEDS to be Saurfang - we're talking Arms warrior here w/ Hamstring and a Cleave that can be buffed so much it can split a playing field.
He should have a skin where his axe still has part of the taxi attached to it
