The Rolls Royce is truly a car that is tailor made for royalties around the world . If someone owns a Rolls Royce , they're considered as a royalty or super rich . Spirit of Ecstasy is the true embodiment of RR .

I remember this car very well because Andrew lived quite close to my home for a number of years when he was with BFBS in Germany. He called this car Singapore as the first user was H.M. Governor to Singapor.Chassis BLW92.Andrew did a great job in letting restoring the car to her former glory an I like to remember when both of us were chauffered by a soldier with his flag and shield on the roof fixed an listening tio military music. He was a very nice chap who is sadly missed by all his friends.

Jolly good show old boy! I do prefer my own Daimler though to the Roly-Poly! Oddly, I own both British and German Daimlers too. One must dash orf...Tally ho...splendid video.

Great video. I wish there were more videos about the Royal Mews, the Phantom IV cars in particular. Princess Margaret's Phantom IV was sold by a Welsh antique/classic Rolls-Royce dealer a couple years back for around $750,000.
3:41 -- What's the story behind the hood ornament? I've never seen that one!

ragemanchoo82 It is the late Andrews personal mascot, a Welsh dragon (he was born there) holding a shield showing his Coat of arms. While Andrew was in Germany I met him quite often and it was he who taught me to drive a manual transmission Rolls-Royce, actually the one seen here, his 1954 Silver Wraith Landaulet, BLW92. Andrew passed away before his second book Rolls-Royce State Motor Cars was published but which was published. Both books are rare today. RIP, Andrew

I think the Daimler dm420 was the better limousine than the RR Phantom VI because the acceleration, top speed and fuel tank size were pretty much the same but the Daimler cruising would do 21mpg and the Phantom only 12. So nearly twice did the Phantom have to lurk in the unsavoury land of commoners to fill its tank at esso vs the daimler!
