    It is really interesting seeing how things are in other countries. I'm an early childhood educator from Germany (still in training but I worked in 4 different fields during my training, with kids from 1 y/o to 14 y/o) and our routine and daily schedules are completely different than the ones I see in American pre-k's or kindergartens. A big part of out daily routine is so-called "free playtime" where children can play with whatever they want. Most routines look like this: the children arrive and free playtime starts, at around 9 a.m. we have what you probably call circle time where we gather together and greet everyone a good morning, we sing some songs and play a few games, after that we eat breakfast and after breakfast we have free playtime again. during that we do little projects with a few of the kids. Most of the time, if it's good weather, we go outside until lunch. Our schedule doesn't seem as planned out as ours but during the free playtime we do a lot of special work with some of the kids or all of them. But we see it as an very important part of the children education that they can educate themselves during this free time, as they are capable to do so and we're more like assistants to their development and of course we support them with our extra work and projects. As said before, I think it's really interesting how other countries handle things and I thinks it's a great way to learn from both, your own and other countries.

    Watching your videos is helping my anxiety. I was a third grade teacher and now I am being moved to Pre-K. My anxiety comes from decorating and putting my visions to life. I am going to continue to watch your videos and definitely subscribe. Thank you

    Thanks so much! Love seeing how other classrooms work. I teach a blended class of 3-5 yr olds in a private preschool and want to implement a little more “structured” learning centers instead of 2 huge free play blocks. This was helpful trying to transition into a different set up for next year. Many thanks!

    What are your classroom agreements? And what is the good morning song please?

    • @Kristen_Lankford
      @Kristen_Lankford  Před 2 lety

      My class agreements are basically our "rules":
      I am going to use my watching eyes today.
      I am going to use my listening ears today.
      I am going to use my gentle touch today.
      I am going to use my walking feet today.
      I am going to use my kind words today.
      I am going to use my quiet voice today.
      We do quite a few morning songs through out the year. My current choice is by Dr. Jean Rise and Shine
