When I was in Hyderabad, I really experienced how people sincerely accepting these type of movies as their high class movies…I was not even able to watch even the trailer and I tried to convince them those are non sense…but no use…I was really wasting my time!

I feel Telugu mainstream movies (some Tamil and Malayalam star movies too) do put in effort to build the character or the God complex they want to project. If it is a known star like Balakrishna or Chiranjeevi, they just assume the audience are familiar with the hero's traits and strengths from previous movies. It is like they are acting in a series and each movie is an episode 🤐

I was wanting to ask you about your thoughts about Telugu cinema and here you dropped a video already. I don't watch any Telugu films but I wonder how others are able to tolerate such movies. In CZcams comments of trailers and songs of such movies when I expect some sort of criticism, there are tons of praises. 'Oh Man of Masses, What energy.. Jai Jai... Even at this age, he can do this Waah... Waah...' And the way certain things are portrayed like stalking in the name of love feels normal even though we know it isn't the right way. And there is a repeated template where the hero treats the heroine like crap but very respectful to his mother, sister, and other family members or to the villagers who admire that and the heroine falls in love with him on seeing that thereby overlooking the way she has been treated. This was there in KGF 2 if you remember and that's when Mehbooba plays.
Another thing, more than the character it is the STAR that is being celebrated in the form of songs and all: the latest one being 'Jai Jai Balayya' and 'Sreedevi Chiranjeevi' (Shruthi Haasan seriously what's wrong with her? Romancing with men of her father's age? And the other actresses.) One example of stardom is Ram Charan movies. Even though there are less movies, his character names are mostly his own name i.e., Ram, Charan, Konidala, either of these would be there for sure.

First it was a Brahmin based film industry, later people from Kamma caste started to dominate it, after Chiranjeevi who belongs to Kapu caste achieved super stardom, paved way for his brother, son, nephew and other relatives. Even their fanbase is dominated by respective castes they belong.
Casting Jr. NTR & Ram Charan in RRR actually satisfied the ego of people from both Kamma & Kapu.
The possibility of an outsider to become a success in this industry is extremely difficult. Nepotism is very deep rooted within the industry.
Heroines are mostly imported from Northern States or from Kerala. Earlier this was not the case. Telugu actresses like Sarada, Jayaprada, Jayasudha, Vijaya Shanthi were supremely talented and very successful. But for the past 10-20 years the number of Telugu origin lead actresses declined significantly. This issue is also prevalent in Tamil industry.
So you are saying RRR collected 1250 + crore because Ram Charan and Jr Ntr are from higher castes? It became the highest grosser in Japan because same castes? It won oscar not because also of the actors dancing brilliance but because they are from higher castes ? It collected 25 crore in kerala becasue they are from higher castes? Seriously ! In tamil and telugu heroines are from vastly other langauges because its a language that can be easily spoken not like malaylm where only malayalis can speak properly if some one tries to speak malayalam and gets it wrong malayalis will laugh and insult, telugu people don't do that. thats why! They get paid higher in telugu because its a bigger industry!
Audience are responsible for what they see..Look at Tamil cinema..which also had the same recipe until few years ago in most movies..now they are very close to Malayalam in script and ahead in technology skill set.

Maybe searching for logic in movies is a bad habit we malayalees have cultivated thanks to our cinema pedigree. However one telegu movie i thoroughly enjoyed watching was Arundhati.. The premise was of course supernatural but anushka played the protagonist so convincingly that u just feel bad when she sacrifices herself for her land.
People don't look for logic in everything.
Movies require some level of suspension of disbelief.
But it shouldn't break the balance.
KGF, RRR, Bahubali, several Allu Arjun movies were a huge hit in Kerala.
The highest grossing Malayalam movie is Pulimurugan.
Movies have to do it in a convincing way.
Kaduva collected 50cr +, Thallumala collected 50cr+(weak script and story), currently pulimurukan is the industry hit in Kerala. Illaveezha punchira, Thankam,Iratta like good moives are flop here. I think there is small difference between mallu and Telugu audience and not big
