I really love how Sir Tim has confidence in the A380, and also the fact that the superjumbo is able to cope with the environmental pressures. I haven't flown yet, but flying in an Emirates A380 is a dream that has been reassured by Tim and Emirates. Thank you Sam for this beautiful interview
I was flying the a380 monthly pre covid and when you get used to it, it is rubbish going back to a 777. The cabin isnt as noisy as a 777 and the business class product on an a380 with EK is miles better than their 777 product.
@@atikulhussain7614 It depends on the airline and class. I flew on a shorthaul flight with a European airline in the A380's early days, on BA, IIRC. It was a surprise as we were booked on a twin-jet. It was a crew training flight. I was in peasant class and it was nothing special, as you said. Little legroom and tiny toilets. I am sure that biz class on Emirates is a whole different ballgame. At least I can say I have been on an A380. Production ceased in Dec 2021, with the last one being delivered to...Emirates...

I have flown it a few times and always had a great experience !! You’ll enjoy it too. Try to book directly instead of travel agent, sometimes u can get a last minute upgrade option to business at very low price difference. I took it once and oh boy… i was treated like a king with personalized service. And then off the plane, i went back to my peasant life. 🤣

that's why AIRBUS needs to launch a stretched variant of the A380-800 . . . call it the A380-1000 Neo LR with a full 18,900 kms non-stop range . . . if the A380 is to remain in business then the A380-1000 Neo LR is needed . . .

It was wonderful to see, once again, an Emirates A380 fly over my ranch in southern Alberta earlier this week on its way from SFO to DXB. And, I’ll guess that Sir Tim was (like me) a member of BOAC’s Junior Jet Club.

well not really, it has a future and it's very well situated at emirates but for the rest of the world there is no use for this gigantic dinosaur that cost over $30,000 an hour in fuel alone.
Remarkable aviation boss. A true believer of the A380 and that is proven. As an Australian the growth EK pushed here was unbelievable, from A310s and then multiple daily flights to DXB are all thanks to him and his team.

One concern that I have about Emirates is that some layovers for the crew are just 24H. That´s not enough to deal with fatigue and jet lag. While other airlines have 3-4 days layovers. Thats an important question for a next interview.

What an astute man Sir Tim is , he has a wonderful vision for the future . I could listen to him all day long . Having flown with Emirates many times including A380 flights I have to agree with his passion for that particular aeroplane . Incidentally the Super Connie at time 1:10 is VH- EAG , based at the HARS Museum south of Sydney , the only airworthy Super Connie in the World , and a beautiful old girl .

I have a lot of respect for Sir Clark as a business man and aviation leader. He always sounds very articulate, concise, personal and surprisingly funny. I often find listening to C-level executives especially in the airline industry is as dry and boring as eating paper but not with Sir Clark. Let be frank and say that without him Emirates would've been nowhere near it is today. A lot of its success should be credited to Sir Clark. It's sad that he is at the age that he would retire as he was scheduled to retire in 2019. I hope he will stick around for a bit longer. If he ever leaves Emirates and wants to continue to lead, I bet all of the airlines would jump at him. By the way, one point he mentioned in this video that I particularly love is how he wanted the airplanes to fly faster. I'm one of these people who enjoy aviation but prefer to minimize the amount of time I need to spend on an airplane. Frankly, if I can go to places faster, I would incline to fly more.
Sir Tim seems to be an extremely approachable guy. He appears quite relaxed during this interview which is refreshing for an executive of his magnitude. I hope he remains at the helm for quite a while longer and continues to take Emirates to new heights.
My first was a DC-3. I was three years old and was with my parents. The only thing I remembered about that flight was that they had barf bags and into that little brown bag I did just that-threw up! It was something that I was embarrassed about and it was the one and only time I did it. At the age of four, I started flying solo-sans parents. Had that hanging tag around my neck and the stewardesses would not let me off the plane until I could see my uncle on the tarmac waiting for me. Once he was there (remember there were no jetways in 1951) and I identified him and he presented his ID that matched what I said his name was, I climbed down the stairs, jumped into his arms and flew every year to see him and my grandmother until I was 15 years old. So much fun and so many fond memories. Of course, the aircraft changed over the years and since I began driving when I was 14 (at 14 I had to have an adult with me but at 15, I drove my self) but at 15 years old, I drove myself from Houston to Lake Charles, LA to see my Grandmother (my Father’s mother) and then on to Baton Rouge to visit all my Mother’s relatives). The farthest distance I ever drove to see a relative was to Columbia, MO to see my Mother’s sister, my favorite aunt), but after that, she moved back to LA and then I began flying everywhere I went.
41 years ago When I arrive at Dubai AirPort 1980 on May 28th at midnight on the way to Amman Jordan from Colombo by Sigarpure Airline Flight it was a single terminal for Arrivals and Departures. I got down to the tarmac which I have to carry my hand luggage about 100 meters. stayed 14 hours in transit to catch my next ALIA flight to Amman. after that lapse of nearly 13 years I manage to back Dubai several times from and to Europe. but from 2009 till 2016 I was a transit passenger 4 times a year from Johannesburg to Colombo. What transformation has taken Dubai International in particular and Emirates in General? As a person who has seen 5 years before Emirates Airline flies from DXB.WoW, it's incredible, Long live Dubai and Emirates Airlines.

I recently paid extra just to fly on Emirates solely because they use *A380s.* I will do everything in my power (and encourage as many people as possible) to fly with airlines that keep flying *FOUR ENGINE aircraft like the 747 and A380,* because these are the ONLY aircraft that can make LONG DISTANCE flying a true joy!! Not to mention the extreme safety offered by 4 engines! ETOPS = Engines Turn Or Passengers Swim 😆
When Emirates gets the 777x or anyother aircraft will they do a non stop flight from Christchurch to Dubai? Instead of doing Christchurch to Sydney to Dubai?
He is just a wonderful person. He is a living legend. I can confidently say that he is the Stan Lee of Emirates. Someone who has genuine love for airplanes. People called him crazy for going with this business model, but he proved them all wrong. It actually led to the biggest and most famous international airline while also among the most profitable. It is one of the best for passengers as well and played a key role in the growth of the United Arab Emirates as a country.

Loved the interview. Sir Tim Clark always inspire AV geeks. The thought process and clarity with which he speaks says why he is the most successful and respective airline executives ever. Practice response for we trying to go supersonic. Sam, you could have avoided asking about competitor's plan of ditching A380 as we all know the business model and approaches of each and every airline are different. Again that's just me.
Many critics can write off Emirates and can predict their doom with their huge fleet of A380s...but with Sir Tim Clark at the helm...they dont have a vision about the future like he has....the world has been through huge economic turbulent times...but Sir Tim has seen the airline through all those challenges....Emirates is here to stay and be the best for a long long time!!!

well not really, it has a future and it's very well situated at emirates but for the rest of the world there is no use for this gigantic dinosaur that cost over $30,000 an hour in fuel alone.
Remarkable aviation boss. A true believer of the A380 and that is proven. As an Australian the growth EK pushed here was unbelievable, from A310s and then multiple daily flights to DXB are all thanks to him and his team.

One concern that I have about Emirates is that some layovers for the crew are just 24H. That´s not enough to deal with fatigue and jet lag. While other airlines have 3-4 days layovers. Thats an important question for a next interview.

What an astute man Sir Tim is , he has a wonderful vision for the future . I could listen to him all day long . Having flown with Emirates many times including A380 flights I have to agree with his passion for that particular aeroplane . Incidentally the Super Connie at time 1:10 is VH- EAG , based at the HARS Museum south of Sydney , the only airworthy Super Connie in the World , and a beautiful old girl .

I have a lot of respect for Sir Clark as a business man and aviation leader. He always sounds very articulate, concise, personal and surprisingly funny. I often find listening to C-level executives especially in the airline industry is as dry and boring as eating paper but not with Sir Clark. Let be frank and say that without him Emirates would've been nowhere near it is today. A lot of its success should be credited to Sir Clark. It's sad that he is at the age that he would retire as he was scheduled to retire in 2019. I hope he will stick around for a bit longer. If he ever leaves Emirates and wants to continue to lead, I bet all of the airlines would jump at him. By the way, one point he mentioned in this video that I particularly love is how he wanted the airplanes to fly faster. I'm one of these people who enjoy aviation but prefer to minimize the amount of time I need to spend on an airplane. Frankly, if I can go to places faster, I would incline to fly more.
That interview was almost a masterclass in airline management!!
Sir Tim seems to be an extremely approachable guy. He appears quite relaxed during this interview which is refreshing for an executive of his magnitude. I hope he remains at the helm for quite a while longer and continues to take Emirates to new heights.

My first was a DC-3. I was three years old and was with my parents. The only thing I remembered about that flight was that they had barf bags and into that little brown bag I did just that-threw up! It was something that I was embarrassed about and it was the one and only time I did it. At the age of four, I started flying solo-sans parents. Had that hanging tag around my neck and the stewardesses would not let me off the plane until I could see my uncle on the tarmac waiting for me. Once he was there (remember there were no jetways in 1951) and I identified him and he presented his ID that matched what I said his name was, I climbed down the stairs, jumped into his arms and flew every year to see him and my grandmother until I was 15 years old. So much fun and so many fond memories. Of course, the aircraft changed over the years and since I began driving when I was 14 (at 14 I had to have an adult with me but at 15, I drove my self) but at 15 years old, I drove myself from Houston to Lake Charles, LA to see my Grandmother (my Father’s mother) and then on to Baton Rouge to visit all my Mother’s relatives). The farthest distance I ever drove to see a relative was to Columbia, MO to see my Mother’s sister, my favorite aunt), but after that, she moved back to LA and then I began flying everywhere I went.

41 years ago When I arrive at Dubai AirPort 1980 on May 28th at midnight on the way to Amman Jordan from Colombo by Sigarpure Airline Flight it was a single terminal for Arrivals and Departures. I got down to the tarmac which I have to carry my hand luggage about 100 meters. stayed 14 hours in transit to catch my next ALIA flight to Amman. after that lapse of nearly 13 years I manage to back Dubai several times from and to Europe. but from 2009 till 2016 I was a transit passenger 4 times a year from Johannesburg to Colombo. What transformation has taken Dubai International in particular and Emirates in General?
As a person who has seen 5 years before Emirates Airline flies from DXB.WoW, it's incredible, Long live Dubai and Emirates Airlines.

With a man like Sir Tim at the helm it is no wonder the airline has become what it is today. I like the way he did not bite over the Qatar A380 question and his general passion for his job shone through. Also interesting point on the supersonic side of the equation. Great stuff Sam 👍👍
I recently paid extra just to fly on Emirates solely because they use *A380s.* I will do everything in my power (and encourage as many people as possible) to fly with airlines that keep flying *FOUR ENGINE aircraft like the 747 and A380,* because these are the ONLY aircraft that can make LONG DISTANCE flying a true joy!! Not to mention the extreme safety offered by 4 engines! ETOPS = Engines Turn Or Passengers Swim 😆

When Emirates gets the 777x or anyother aircraft will they do a non stop flight from Christchurch to Dubai? Instead of doing Christchurch to Sydney to Dubai?
He is just a wonderful person. He is a living legend. I can confidently say that he is the Stan Lee of Emirates. Someone who has genuine love for airplanes. People called him crazy for going with this business model, but he proved them all wrong. It actually led to the biggest and most famous international airline while also among the most profitable. It is one of the best for passengers as well and played a key role in the growth of the United Arab Emirates as a country.
I wish… I’m Privilege to meet Sir Tim, I have Been applying Emirates cabin crew for 4 years now! But, I know Insha-Allah Sooner or later, I will definitely be Emirates cabin crew!🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿Fantastic interview Mr Sam 🔥🙏🏿❤️
Loved the interview. Sir Tim Clark always inspire AV geeks. The thought process and clarity with which he speaks says why he is the most successful and respective airline executives ever. Practice response for we trying to go supersonic. Sam, you could have avoided asking about competitor's plan of ditching A380 as we all know the business model and approaches of each and every airline are different. Again that's just me.
Many critics can write off Emirates and can predict their doom with their huge fleet of A380s...but with Sir Tim Clark at the helm...they dont have a vision about the future like he has....the world has been through huge economic turbulent times...but Sir Tim has seen the airline through all those challenges....Emirates is here to stay and be the best for a long long time!!!
