I've watched these videos when I was starting as a Coffee Roaster ans now, 5 years after theyro still awesome.
Thank you for showing a couple of roast. This is very helpful
These videos are awesome. There is no way I would be where I'm at with roasting without them. Thank you!
Thanks so much for these vids! So humble and enlightening. Really excited to apply some of this to experimentation on a Quest M3. I have a yemen from sweet marias excited to see what happens!
Derek,
You are the best! Virtually bursting with useful info! Thank you for your very informative videos.
I'm gonna write Santa and tell him I'm a good boy and really want a 500 gram mill city roaster for Christmas.
I'm looking to get the 500g in a few months so I'm happy that you're talking about this roaster.
Really love this channel, thank you so much for all the videos you put out.
Hey Derek, Thank you for the informative/instructional coffee roasting video! I appreciate listening to your thoughts (thinking out-loud) as you are roasting. Both Interesting and invaluable. I look forward to your next roasting video. Thanks DT
I love the videos you guys put out... keep them coming 🍿
Wow coffee from Yemen, I am from Yemen and I love coffee , Haraz is grows one of the best Yemeni Beans.
love your vids derek. i really am drawn to your passion about roasting and my learning curve is very steep at the moment. just pulled the trigger on one of these 500's today and plan on learning as much as i can from you before it shows up here in salem. your teaching style reminds me of my own style, i teach people to fly airplanes and am equally passionate about that subject. actually i just keep them from crashing while THEY learn to fly!
excellent as always. Love my Yemen beans!
Thank you for your teachings
Thanks for the video. Small suggestion: at the end I would have loved a parting picture of the coffee next to each other as full bean to show the stretching and ground to show the differences in roast color. Maybe that can be added at the beginning of a cupping video for them? ;)
Great Job on the roasts on the 500 gram Derek. I've taken your coffee roasting and green coffee recommendations and created some wonderful roasts. The only thing missing with the cupping is the Kouing Amman! Keep bringing out the videos. They are a great help. Can you share your artisan profile on those roasts? - Thanks....... Mike
Great video. Look forward to a cupping video of these roasts!
Please do more videos like this!
Very nice! I'm a taster/roaster from Mantiqueira de Minas - Brazil, I'm learning a lot with you guys! Best Regards!
PS: Your english speaking is very fast
Can't wait to see the cupping vid to see how these two played out !
Our plans for a cupping video were temporarily derailed, but we can report the entire office swooned over both roasts. This is a terrifically good coffee and one heck of a lot of fun to roast and cup.
Love your videos! I hope you keep doing more. Sometimes its fun to just watch, even though I've watched the roasting video already. So, thank you for doing these.
Also, would this roaster be small enough to use in your kitchen without any vent?
Nice work
Thanks
Can you please share your airflow adjustments? I have roasted on this machine and would be curious to know what your settings are.
Thanks Derek. Great control specially in second roast , do you think you can reach second roast with same parameters of second roast ? Am suffering how to apply 4 minutes in millard phase and reach the beginning of second crack .
Thanks for good video. Let me know how to learn my mistake from many profiles. Thanks you very much.
I though the Software took care of all the adjustments. Artisan software I thought was automatic. Great vid though.
Thanks for the video!
I was wondering When you say the percentages for your gas what are the actual numbers that you are using on the dial?
Cosi
Any way to see these artisan profiles, for these roast? Would love to see it as you're roasting.
was the temperature probe looking at drum temperature or air temperature?
Bean temperature.
