- My first attempt at a bottle gourd banjo, made for BHO member Tom Berghan. I'm kinda going out of order with the ones I've finished with this one. One-piece figured cherry neck with scroll peghead, walnut pegs, nut, bridge, tailpiece, and dowel. Goatskin heads with man in the moon sound holes. 26 3/8" scale. Tuning pegs turned out to be a little small due to placing them closer together than what I meant to, but work.
Strings were still settling in when I made the video, so it's tuned somewhere around cFCFG. - Hudba
Together with a guitar that must be amazing.
woww...so nice sounds 😃😃
Sweet tune and sweet banjo!! I just put the skins on mine, so we’re closing in on it. Looking forward to reconnecting with frailiing after 40 year Scruggs-style hiatus, and I’ve got a bunch of your tunes on my list. But, here’s me counting the chickens and eggs aren’t hatched.😂. Keep up the excellent and inspiring work.
YES! You da man, man!!!
Sounds absolutely gorgeous.
The moment I saw this the obvious thought that went through my head was 'that looks like Adam Hurt's gourd!' .. while it captures that vibe it also has its own unique sweetness. Glad I found your channel 👍
Thanks for watching!
Sounds wonderful.
Absolutely beautiful well done
The instrument sounds amazing, I want one... someday
have you made one yet?
Beautiful instrument and this song and playing is incredible. Thanks!!
Gorgeous song
Gorgeous banjo!
Great tune and banjo!
Man as soon as I manifest my banjo playfull dream I'm getting one of you
I just got one
@@cheeseburger8486 how is it? I am thinking about buying one from this man
@@joseph2832 It's actually very nice, it has a warm and soft tone. It's definitely not my banjo of choice but it's cool to have, it's fretless and has a unique look and sound to it. You can do some cool stuff with it.
@@cheeseburger8486 Thank you for letting me know! I love warm sounding banjos and I tune to open F generally to get a lower warmer sound! cheers!
@@joseph2832 I got mine from Barry Sholder.
Lovely sounding banjo and great playing. Can you tell me the source of this tune? I like it very much.
It’s an original tune.
Love love love your picking and banjos Noah. what is your preferred size for a bottle gourd banjo?
Thanks, Jason. I guess those about this size (7-9” diameter lower bout, and around 12” long).
These are gorgeous looking and sounding. Do you have a website to see your inventory and possibly order?
I don’t have a website; however, I do have photos of my previous builds here: www.banjohangout.org/myhangout/photos.asp?id=88519

samuel whiting I usually start at $250, at most $275.
Hey man whats the tuning on this one?
It’s cFCFG (aDADE relative, tuned low)
@@NoahCline thanks man!
This sounds so fantastic! And an original, no less. SMH. Where are you getting your gourds these days?
Not sure how I missed your comment. Sorry about that. Mainly from Wuertz Gourd Farm.
@@NoahCline No worries. I actually bought a pair on Amazon (!), and they cleaned up fine. If I can ever get this neck thing figured out, I'll be in business. Your builds have been really helpful as models.
