    How about a tutorial on how to polish your air gun barrel? Lots of videos out there about lapping Barrels, but nothing specific to air gun barrels that I'm aware of. Also is polishing different than lapping?

    Great Point about marksmanship. Too many air gunners just shoot off the bench and really have no formal marksmanship skills, and never competed in form of riflery.

    Excellent commentary! Sorry for such a belated reply, as I just today accidently happened on this video. As someone, who a year ago didn't even know airguns existed, I'm on an accelerated quest for knowledge and experience. So please continue producing these videos, I will certainly be watching and learning as your newest subscriber.
    Shooting firearms in my early teens and during my military tours, I always applied the acronym "BRAS (Breath Relax Aim Squeeze)" to control my breathing and heartrate. I think so many shooters of all variants, do not know these simple little tips to better shooting.
    And you're so correct that these air propelled devices are truly Amazing! I wish I had got into the sport much earlier. The start up costs are less to be desired, but indeed worth it. I greatly appreciate your expertise and candid breakdown of this sport and its' equipment. Looking forward, to getting current on all your videos, as well as your future upcoming videos. Best of success to you...

    I don't know who you are, or if you are on any of the better airgun forums, but you made valid points that are mostly ignored out there. My hat is off to you.
    I go by KnifeMaker or just Knife of several forums and specialise in slug shooting. How to cast them, how to learn the barrels needs in size and length of slugs and how to lapp and polish bores. All of my guns save one is lapped and polished. The one gun that is not is an Uragan .25 cal.
    I took the gun down to inspect everything as I do all new to me guns and was ready to start lapping. When I slugged the bbl. I was shocked! Beautifully lapped and polished. Other than the striations of he rifling on the slug, not one mark. Not one. Perfectly smooth in both lands and groves. Perfect! At this price point, unheard of. Only AAA as far as I am aware offers this in airguns, and charges north of 300 usd for the service. The top match firearm bbl's charge dearly for this service.
    Another keep point is the hammer of said aG. It is more of a firearm hammer. No sliding cylinder weight uses as a hammer. The Ed Gun uses a similar hamme the the Air Gun Technology Uraga as well. but enough about this one gun. Mentioned the Sheridan. I too had one in the late 50's. Loved the gun. However, they were far from the first pcp (hand pumped or not) to use slugs. The practice goes back a couple hundred years.
    I get a kick out of so many saying that slugs are the "new thing". Well, in the long game, it is the pellets that are the new thing. And they have a long history as well. LOL! (Just not anywhere as long as slugs.Pellets were originally designed for indore shooting in pubs with very low power. A game popular in Europe similar to a modern darg game. They were never intended for long range, or high power. Yes, they have come a long way, but nowhere the capabilities of a slugs with its ballistic advantages, particularly in wind and or long range performance.
    Keep up the good work. and keep polishing those barrels! ;

    So I watched your video about 3 shots in one hole at 263 or 268 yards on the Huben. You made me laugh, because as an ex border patrol agent, and a salesman and sales manager and a graduate of Colorado School of Trades gunsmithing program in the 1980's, i was the youngest graduate at the time.....lol.....so I laughed because your video was totally unrehearsed, and you were not the expert on video production, but all my years of experience of reading people, told me you were honest....lol.....So I already had a impact mk 2 in .357, so after watching your video at 3:30pm, I was on the Interstate at 4:30pm, driving from Gretna, NE to Smithville Missouri to buy one that night from Kelly. I texted him or emailed him when I was halfway there, since most of his sales I assumed were mail order. He texted me back and said OK, I will be here. lol. So I showed up at abut 7:30 and like you I am sorta high energy, lol. Kelly and I became friends rather quickly, and I bought my first Huben in .25. I love this airgun for its ergonomics, how it feels, and it is so quiet. I have shot 50gr cast slug at 920 and shooting very good groups at 100yards between .75 to an 1.0 inch. but i get occasional fliers and I have made many phone calls to kelly and text messages as at first I could not get the kind of groups I was expecting. This led to me doing much research and I have decided to specialize in ammo for airguns (slugs) and so Slugfest Ammunition Company was born. I told Kelly that despite the haters you had on some of your videos, I said my years of reading people told me that you had previous firearms experience and perhaps some machining experience. So anyway, I would love to be able to communicate with you privately, so when you get a chance, email me at severtpeterson402@gmail.com. I loved this video and hope to hear from ya soon.
    Best regards, Tripp Peterson-Slugfest Airgun Ammunition, Gretna NE You can call Kelly, and confrim all of this, he will laugh and tell you I am the real deal, lol. He is just such a good person, and most of all, like you, very real and very honest.

      You are just what the slug Airgun in community needs. In order to make slugs that are exactly the same someone needs to swage them out of one swage. That means a dedicated swage to each box of ammo. I am looking very forward to talking to you. Right now I’m at work I will definitely message you back. The thing is haters are fine those are all Matt Dubber‘s friends every single one of them that has a nasty comments because I called him out during rmac . And I knew that was gonna happen but I had to do it during that competition in order for him to make a comment back to me and make my video explode on how poorly made the Airgun barrels are. The Flyers I was going to do a video on it’s The way they are being swaged. They are all different sizes and different weights. Some have spots were in there not as round as others. I’m new to air…. I’d love to see a series on building an air rifle from scratch. Could you recreate your first build along with links for sourcing the components?
    I’ve learned a lot over the last 10 months with a gauntlet, avenger and now a Texan .308.
    The avenger allowed me to learn about tuning and the Texan is teaching me about unregulated gun tuning (tank pressure vs hammer spring preload).
    And by the way the .308 Texan shoots better than everything I read dating back to about 2017 suggests.
    The gun will print sub 2 MOA at 200 yards using either a 105 grain NSA slug or a 106 grain cast NOE slug. I started casting bullets to support the testing of this rifle. Plus the slug is carrying over 168 FPE @ 200 yds! I’ve been totally amazed. And this is shooting untethered.
    I would love to be able to watch your videos, buy the same parts, learn and see how everything goes together to make a functioning air rifle!
    That would be super cool!!! It would be a great way to share what you’ve learned over the last 40 plus years of doing this…. I’m in… anybody else?
    P.S. if anyone wants to see what I’ve learned about the Texan, I’ve documented it with multiple short videos and provide tuning information used as I couldn’t find many videos on tuning. Take a look. Hope it helps.

I don’t know how far you’re shooting but by the time you get out to 200 yards even if you’re shooting 1100 ft./s you need a really soft lead slug. I’ll shoot a video tonight for you and I watch spring explain some of it. The great part is you can tell her your ammo to your gun depending on what you’re doing. The single greatest improvement you can make on an FX Airgun is to get a Walther polygon barrel. If you’re going to poets you get it with a choke if you’re going to shoot slugs you get it uncooked. You will not believe the accuracy you will get. You’ll shoot a three eights inch group at 100 yards with pellets and under 3/4 of an inch at 100 yards with slugs

      I was thinking about doing my bobcat getting more power. And this will apply to all affects arrogance because they all uses the same valve set up. So I’ll do a video and show you how to easily get a lot more power. Well also have to change the hammer spring but we can’t go to Stiff Because the caulking arms are very light weight. But we’ll figure it out and will get it done

    Nice video, but I don't understand obsession with air guns. Only reason I have big bore air guns and firearms is for self defense. As such air guns are good in that it's very inexpensive to shoot and you can practice a lot almost anywhere. And you can cast your ammo (slugs/bullets) yourself, which would be invaluable when SHTF hits and you can't get firearm ammunition. Other than that, airguns or firearms, makes no difference to me.

    I appreciate this video and agree with you. The price for these guns today cost more than an actual combat ready, AR15 or a Kalishnakov. It's unreal. I appreciate what they can do but the only thing that has stopped from me buying an impact mk3 is, the God awful price. So I look at the budget guns but I simply want to avoid anything made in China. I just can't do it...not now anyway. So I have thought the same way..maybe I can build my own damn air rifle that can actually shoot at 100+ yards.

    Count me in, captain!! I'm just a villager from the north and we have animals we hunt with airguns, most of it is the multi-pumps, and the money suckered CO2. I've watched a lot of videos I've subscribed to and it's awesome to see airguns that we don't have here. PCP rifles. Another thing about accuracy is floating the barrels, also as known to "free float". Oscillating and harmonizing in my understanding is like a bull whip. Plus, the designs and weight is what rifles want. Not the shooter. Got my list of education down. Especially if I want to shoot landed geese and ducks on tundra. 😁👍

    I don’t know about the Huben Gen 1-5? But I do know the LCS SK-19 in .22 and .25 with 2 different barrels….22 has a LW 12 grove and the .25 has a LW Poly barrel. The adjustability in power and precise control is Indian as is the accuracy. That said…I have yet to find a slug that the .25 shoots better than an FX 34 grain pellet. Please…if you know a slug that the .25 poly barrel will shoot…I’m all ears. The NSA38.5 grain I have tried and didn’t group worth a damn at 30 yards?🤷‍♂️🥴💯 BTW the Avenger in .22 and .25 is amazing and well with every worth every penny💯. Yes…at 75 yards is just as accurate as any high end gun I have. BTW the Avenger costs about 100$ to make. Love the Nova Vista Liberty/Avenger Gen 1 just as much. Love all of mine sir too… thank you. Spitting pure facts. Very refreshing when people are real. 👍💯💪🇺🇸 God bless. Mad respect by the way for sharing your knowledge brotha.

    I would like to hear about your knowledge and experience of air gunning. Like so many things you buy, there is a break in period. I am interested shooting about 100 yards. Anything farther the gun and scope are too much money. There so many variables in getting the gun to shoot the way you want. I look forward to hear what you have to say. Thank you.

    • @amazingairguns6350
      @amazingairguns6350 Před 2 lety

      Now you say that’s what these big companies selling their expensive products want you to think that it is too expensive to shoot fire and that is the farthest thing from the truth. You can get a QB chief. And avenger. A marauder. And my video is going to show you how to take the choke off. And I am going to show you how to set that barrel up so you can shoot at least an inch and a three-quarter group at 200 yards. So this is not within your reach as far as money goes. These companies come into this business and they charge $1700 right off the bat for a gun. Because they know people have been trained to think you have to spend a ton of money. FX hides there in accuracy by editing their African videos and not showing you how many times they mess their barrels are the worst. Button rifled barrels are the most accurate if they are prepared right and I am gonna give you everything you need to prepare yours. And if you don’t wanna do it yourself you can send them to me and I will do it for you I’m not gonna charge crazy money to do it..
