- Monster Energy has come out with so many Zero Sugar energy drinks it can sometimes be hard to keep track of them. They come out with so many that they even have some fans of Monster Energy brainwashed into thinking that if they put "new" on a product that it is actually new and they will buy it. Whether they put it into a blue can and call it zero sugar energy, or call it Absolutely Zero Sugar, Monster lovers just eat up these new flavors. So, is this "New" Zero Sugar Monster energy drink really new?

I bought the no sugar Monster with the green top thinking it was the original Monster in a new can. They did a good job with the no sugar Monster , I like it.

I'm a diabetic, but when I was younger I used to love OG Monster (I'm type 1, not type 2 so the drinks didn't cause it lol). I've enjoyed the Zero Ultra series and I like the low carb, but this may be my new favorite, as it reminds me of the OG so much from back in the day.
It really does taste like the original!!!!
As someone who drank a whole bunch of regular monster as a teenager, having this zero sugar version is very reminiscent to me. Love it. My go to right now.

I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on dozens of different energy drinks, and finally settled on strictly getting SugarFree Monster. This video explains why it’s the hardest flavour to find right now, and also worrying because the old formula was the most palatable for me over literally every energy drink I’ve had. I LOVE the energy drink passion though hahaha thanks for the chance to comment on such a niche topic I love lol
Hopefully you like this new one over the blue one, since the blue one is definitely going bye-bye., which is why its so hard to find. The new one though, TONS of it on the shelves near me. They are stocking up on it. In my opinion, they could replace their regular Monster with this. LOL
@@CaffeineMan1 exciting! Canadians get small variety, and I accidentally got their Aussie Dream and later realized it had FOURTY-SIX grams of sugar. No clue how anyone drinks regular energy drinks after the age of 20.
I have drank a BUNCH of original Monster in the past but now I am drinking this! I like it.

When I heard this was being made I was kinda excited for people to have something closer to the original in flavor, since the old zero sugar was pretty notably different. My friend likes the original a lot, but he doesn't like all the sugar, so I'm sure he'll be happy to hear it's closer. I'm not the biggest fan of the original monster, but I'm still excited to try this out.

this is one of my favorites! the old zero sugar was advertised by Monster as "sweet and salty with a citrus twist" if anyone was interested in the difference

Have to agree, it's way more palatable than the original, which can be a sugar overload. The lack of sugar actually helps the flavour I find. Great review.

so there's an American zero sugar flavor, which is blue and has a crazy design, There's a zero sugar flavor for Europe which is also blue but it's different from the American one (same as og monster can but monster logo in blue) , there's also an absolutely zero one same as the European one,there's one more similar to the European zero sugar design but this time it's American which is the lo carb one, there's also an old American version which was absolutely zero but it had a galaxy themed can design, and finally they decided to keep both american and European zero sugars but made a new green zero sugar flavor. kinda confusing right? monster really made a mess with the zero sugar flavor 😂
Hopefully everything else goes bye bye and they stick with the 2 green cans. Regular and sugar free. LOL!

Sugar free monster isn't new not only did they have the absolute 0 they also have the ultra series wich honestly may be the best diet energy drink on the market

First saw it at Harris Teeter. Two for $6. Walmart has a 4 pack for $9. Sam's Club has 24 for $36.78.

Got to say I've been stuck on monster Juices. Mango loco Aussie lemonade and the papillon would be my top 3. But the reserve orange cream sickle was excellent. I will most likely give this one a try myself.
They definitely have some great flavors, like the ones you mentioned, its just always the sugar that gets to me. I stick to the Ultras and every now and again will pick up a reserve. THIS DRINK though, tastes just like Monster. its insane.

The original Monster was one of the first energy drinks I ever had and so is the reason I got into energy drinks. Definitely a lot of nostalgia there so I have my bias for this one in particular since I'm part of the sugar free crowd these days and this zero sugar monster is as close to the og taste as it can get.
They definitely did an AMAZING job with it!

@@moonlightreveries1459 it's supposedly a sugar alternate that has the same flavor enhancement as sugar pretty well identical. However it's much more costly to get so it's rare to find in a lot of stuff
I just love these new monsters, I still can't believe it's not original monster with the sugar, I was learning all about sugar alcohols and was thinking to myself (if only they could use erythritol sweetener in monster energy) so sure enough I saw the zero sugar monsters in the isle and picked it up and checked the nutrition facts and was pleasantly surprised to see it had erythritol and tried it, it tastes pretty much like regular monster, (no bitter after taste) , it's my new go to and replacement for the regular monster. I know it's not super unhealthy to consume.
Such a great job they did and soooo much healthier than the original.
I saw the Gatorade twitch energy drinks they had every single flavor, but I didn't get any , I did grab me a can of swedish fish ghost , so I finally got to try that 🤷

@@rob100289 yeah I've always seen the bags hanging in the aisles of the supermarket , or at the convenience store/ gas station , I'll probably pick up a bag compared it myself , but another thing is I am getting over a cold, so I'm definitely going to get another drink, I can actually full-on taste , I think my taste buds aren't hundred percent right now 🤷
The green zero sugar monster taste like someone melted down Gummi bears and then added some carbonation. I like the blue can better it has more of a bite to it then new one taste like juice it's just smooth and not much carbonation
I tried this out, and like you, I wish I got the original to compare it. Based on my memory, it really does seem the same as the original, but without the bad things sugar brought. It's really impressive how close sugar-free flavors can get.

(picked up a white one to see if it were the same, its not, and the regular is more sweet on the tongue, this is bitter compared.
@@YourDadBitch some people are very sensitive to sweetener taste. My best friend used to hate zero sugar energy drinks, but after drinking more he grew to prefer it. Same thing happened for me. Diet soda usually has aspartame though and that always sucks. Sucralose and ace-k are usually in energy drinks and those are a lot better tasting
I'm rarely spoilt for choice at my local store for sugar free energy drinks. So I hope this one makes its way to some shelves near me. 🙏🏻
It should! They got rid of all the blue cans near me and replaced with the green. They look VERY similar to the OG, so look closely!

I’ve ordered the blue can Monster Absolutely Zero for years and it’s the best flavor profile imo.
It seems like they switched the Absolutely Zero to be called Monster Zero Sugar but still in a blue can, and it seems like the same formula from what I can tell. It is my understanding that they had to rename it to Zero Sugar because Europe says they couldn’t call it Absolutely Zero according to their regulations. I’m not sure if this is true though.
The problem with the blue can Monster Zero Sugar is that it’s so impossible to find. I never find it at any grocery store or convenience stores. I have to buy it in a 24-pack from Amazon. I just wish I had the option to get it at local stores.
Yesterday I walked into my grocery store and saw a new option, the Monster Zero Sugar in the green can. I decided to buy it and give it a try. It tastes pretty good, but still I think it’s a slightly different flavor than the blue can Monster Zero Sugar. I prefer the blue can but the green is okay if I can buy it locally.
Are they phasing out the blue can Monster Zero Sugar though? 😢😢
I also can’t stand the regular green can original formula Monster. It’s yucky, plus I don’t need all the sugar in the original. Plus, what’s the difference with all these other ones like Monster Lo-Carb? I do hope they make these zero sugar options readily available. Monster has way too broad of a product offering, why can’t they just simplify their offering and have those products available in more places? I don’t like any of the weird flavors I see at the convenience stores either.
The blue can sugar free and absolute zero are both going away and going to be replaced by this green sugar free can, so you wont be seeing the blue much anymore... or ever, once Amazon sells down what they have.

I honestly like it! Better than drinking the high sugar ones! Wish the caffeine is at least 200 instead of 160! My new favorite energy drink so far is the New Ultra Zero Strawberry Dreams 🤙🤙

I prefer Monster because it only has 160mg while most cheaper energy drinks try to overdo it like 200-300mg caffeine and I can’t take that much. I hope they stay true to the 160 because I feel like it’s a good balance

Good review. I showed a can of this to a friend that likes original Monster, tells me "fake sugar is worse than regular sugar, do research." Kinda odd. I just don't prefer too much sugar. I do like this zero sugar though, not much crash from it compared to regular Monster. I also miss regular Monster flavor, so this is a good alternative.

I have tried monster several times in the past 10 yrs and ugh the green one always had too much sugar and since my favorite red bull was discontinued. I was sad I got put on a zero sugar diet and tried the green zero sugar now I am addicted I need atleast 1 a day on work days.
I like the new Zero Sugar Monster better than the original because it doesn’t have the after taste the Regular Monster has.

They just launched the new zero sugar in Denmark. It tastes a lot like the Absolute Zero here.. the new zero seems a bit sweeter but they are very close
The Absolute Zero was pretty good. I liked it when I reviewed it but then they discontinued it. Probably becuase they were coming out with this.
When I was a kid I hated diet. Mainly because it tasted nothing like the sugary juice i loved to down. I love the recent motivation of these companies making a no sugar version that tastes as close to the real product as possible. If these were about when i was growing up I dont think I would have been as fat.

I've switched to non carbonated Celsius but I do enjoy a zero sugar white or blue monster on occasion.
Just had this today so good timing 😊. I can see where they would be slightly different side by side, but for me today, I couldnt tell that it was different. Disappointed ... not my favorite taste profile.
Good comparison to each other, but Im not a fan of it personally either.
I tried the new zero sugar monster, to try it to take in less calories than the regulat monster.
I did not expect it to taste as closely as it does to the regular monster as it does.

I haven't had og monster before and only tried this when the green came out. I think you're right about them making it so close to the og bc their confident its the same. I just.. hate og flavors lol. Do you plan to do the Gatorade fast twitch?
The Fast Twitch isnt in convenience stores near me yet, so I'll have to go to Walmart or Target this weekend and look.

Idk if it's just the lighting, but the green seems to be a bit brighter on the new Zero Sugar can compared to the regular Monster can. Overall, didn't expect this to come out of no where. I do like the green top of this can, but I haven't drank Monster for a long time since I'm into the other brands.

It took them years to make their original flavor zero sugar and I know caffeine man doesn’t like monster energy but I would pick up a 4 pack from the grocery store bc it’s not ridiculously sugary only con is high sodium 380mg
It definitely took them a loooonnngggg time... but they got it right! Thats what matters.
If you haven't already, you should review the new Gatorade "Fast Twitch" energy drinks, just saw them at my store today, they have like 4-5 flavors so I grabbed a few. A bit spendy for Gatorade, but could be worth a shot lol.

I like the taste of the reg green better but i also like the green no sugar and it hits harder which is why im still awake at 5am lol. The zero sugar makes me jittery and shaky if i drink it fast, reg green doesnt
I'll see what I can uncover about the ginseng flavor language--- I can't imagine much of a mass difference, ginseng is consumed in small quantities anyway with a huge flavor profile

They've tried a few times with Zero Sugar options, but took them this long to get it right.
If there are 2g cabs, and you have 2g Erythritol, your net carbs are Zero.
You subtract the sugar alcohol from the base carbs...
You also subtract dietary fiber... if anyone wants to know😂

Man I hope this tastes OK. I've been drinking the zero sugar for like 10 years every single day. I did email monster asking if it was discontinued and they said it was rebranded and tastes like general monster. Just like you said in this video. Have you tried the monster strawberry dream? Very good. My favorite thing about monster is low caffeine. I hope they don't ever go above 160mg.

I had it and I didn't like it. This tasted water down, with some weird flavor. I understand why they did it but the OG is the OG and I love my OG Monster Energy. I wish Monster had the Uber monster once again
I've noticed that the blue one has a distinct vanilla creamy flavor when it gets flat. Not a fan honestly

@@mandisteiner5802 my first thoughts on the new formula was “this taste like a diet cola” and I was pissed!! I have since gotten like 10 cans and it’s more of a mystery flavour profile than before. It had to grow on me but it is again back to my main caffeine source. Hope you don’t waste 20 bucks listening to me if you can’t be brought back

I tried Monster Original Sugar Free flavor and it taste amazing without a weird aftertaste and without a sickly sweet taste like Monster Original with sugar which for me is the worst Monster flavor which I tried
Funny you were confusing me at first because I dont think I really ever drank the original zero sugar just remember the low carb one. Then when youre like this new zero sugar taste like the original monster im like yeah it does just a lighter flavor. They want us to think its the original version without the sugar. Im glad it looks like the original but the zero sugar needs to be bigger.

Yo @Caffeineman you should try the new beast unleashed monster seltzers I know you don’t normally review alcoholic drinks but they literally taste just like there monster counterparts.
When I first saw this at Walmart, I was like what is this. Then I noticed it was the original Monster but now in a zero sugar can. I was not too sure what to think of this at first and passed on trying it. I was never really that big a fan of the original Monster and did not care too much for the taste. I started seeing some reviews for this and was hearing it was not too bad, so I decided to give it a try. It had been a really long time since I had an original Monster, so I was not real sure just what it tasted like. After trying it I was like yes now I remember what it tasted like. I think they did a pretty good job getting the taste down, so it still had that same taste but without all that sugar. You can really tell it does not have all that sugar in it because it is not very sweet and syrupy like the original is. I think it was better by not having that really sweet and syrupy taste to it. Still not really a fan of this flavor even without all the sugar but I think it is better.

Agreed! I only compared it to the other sugar free because I was checking to make sure it was the same drink just relabeled. I should do a follow up and see how close the monster and sugar fee are because they tasted close to me … but from what I remembered

They seem very different to me. I’ve always gotten the bluish purple can, and I can taste the difference. There also seems to be more carbonation which I’m not a fan up, and much more buzz from the new free can.
