- I had the opportunity to test out the new Ronin 4D-8k, an incredible new Sensor with impressive specs like 4k-120 FPS Prores Raw and 8k up to 75 frames per second in Prores Raw, dual base iso 800-4000 and 9 stops of phisical ND's. This camera is packed!
I only had about 1 week and a half to test it out but be sure I will drop more content with it!

Alex, this is the highest compliment I can give; you move like I do with my R4D. This footage is 🔥Beyond the 8K or 6K module, the footage you got is amazing, most especially that 50 F1.2 content. I'd love to see you mount the Ironglass 58MM Helios and perhaps the GreatJoy on this as well. Awesome job dude, you're putting out high caliber content, and I rarely comment on this stuff, let alone subscribe to channels, so well done!

Man the Ronin 4D actually made the Fx6 look kinda artificial in low light. That 8k sensor is a beast. This thing resolves an amazing image.
my 8k version arrived in the UK a few days ago - just a few days after I had ordered it - great combo with the zoom lens - I was shocked when the 4D 6k first came out that you had to then buy a lens too lol! will open it over christmas

We need a comparison with the black magic full frame
Does not compare whatsoever. The blackmagic image falls apart very quickly in low light. The camera itself (L Mount Cinema Camera 6K) is great just not really suited for low light in my opinion. I have owned both cameras.

Have you been able to use Prores 444 on 8k? I don't seem to be able to select that option.
whoops @9:00 lol this is an amazing do you know if they fixed the back focus/autofocus issue if you heard about its in the 6k version? I've seen one CZcamsr mention not to calibrate it then it would be fine.
Is there a big difference between ProRes raw and regular 8K footage as far as image quality?
Id love to purchase this for more serious client work it looks like my kind of camera but the budget is hurting me lol. I currently film with the FX3 and sony A7 IV
How did you edit and color grade the Prores Raw footage? You mentioned DaVinci Resolve can't do it.
I converted the prores raw footage into cinema dng
The Ronin 4D-8K weighs over 10lbs, do you feel heavy ?

You don't need to buy the prores raw, it comes with it as standard but I used a preproduction model which didn't have it when I got it.
