It's amazing how evocative music can be, and how it takes you back 40 odd years. A time of telly's on trolley's with the VCR locked away, 30 air guitar solos, an uncomfortable plastic mat that left indentations in your legs and most likely gave you piles as you sat for the 20 odd minutes. Heartbreakingly good.
One of my early memories around 1981, when I was 7 years old. I heard this on the TV during the summer holidays and absolutely loved it. Immediately after, I went to the park with my mum, dad and older brother, to play football on a bright and hot summers day. I remember taking a break and drinking cool orange squash. This music just took me back to that very day. Thank you so much!
I well remember this tune when growing up (aged seven at the time of this video). In 1981 I was eleven, moving from junior to senior school, so four years older than you. I also remember the dots - a staple part of my childhood!
And why not indeed so too of course?! It is nice to have such memories really too, and you are so right there then too I am sure! Well done though too.
I remember the edits to this, but don't think it was until about 1982 that I heard the full version on BBC Schools of Bart - and sometimes it was used for intervals on the weekend on BBC1
Yes, i also recall this. Even heard the 2 and 3 minute edits played in the same interval occasionally. Yes the testcard version on 'Pretty Girls' was editied down to 3:45
