- This time at the Quick Speed Shop I've got my 1937 Ford dialed in with the new 59 AB flathead after some ignition and battery issues. It's time to take a loop around the block and listen to the straight pipes in a drive-by. Check it out!
Please like, share, and subscribe. I put out new videos every Wednesday and Sunday.

This makes me smile from ear to ear. I have a 37 Tudor humpback that was me and my dad’s project and I’m now going to get my son in the garage to finally get it on the road
That's awesome!
Ive been fortunate to have had a couple big 80s American luxury cars a couple years ago, but one of these 1937 fords will always be my goal to obtain someday! Nothing beats the sound and styling of those things man
wow !!-nothing--but nothing beats the sound of an "old-flathead-ford" !!-If I was on Mars,-I would know that "sweet-music''---it really gets in your blood !!!
Yes! 👍
The sound when it drives by 🤤
Great job on the engine swap. Love the that flathead sound!!
Thanks!
I started out with a flathead , had the u block's , then the FEs , at 82 yrs I'm back in a flathead , 51 Vicki with a fordo & smitties
Nice!
Sounds great .
I love being taken for a in a classic oldie down a country road, looking ahead as though I were a passenger, admiring the dashboard and the gear shifting, and the sound of that engine. Thanks for the ride!
👍
Oh man she sounds AWESOME! I love it. thanks for the video
Thanks Ray 👍
Congratulations young man for restoring and preserving in its original form that beautiful 1937 Ford. I remember my pregnant mother driving an identical 1937 Ford Flathead V8 engine. I love Ford V8s and even today I enjoy the sound of my free exhaust from my 96 Explorer 302 V8 engine.
I look forward to your next videos
Thank you for 👍
Waugh .!. i'm drooling 🤪 3-speed & everything !!!
Nice Car!
Love the daylight comin’ in the floorboards! VERY cool ride.
I had the tranny cover and passenger toe board out in this video.
Awesome 👍
Thanks for sharing this beautiful car with us, Josh! Loud? Nahhhhh....! I believe she sounds exactly as she deserves to sound! 'Love the jeweled tips, as well! Classy! Enjoy! Be safe! Bro Harry
I love how it sounds. If I close my eyes it's almost like cruising back in the late '40s to early '50s.
Sounds great!
👍
The '37 Ford will be a eye catching view as you driver her on by! Even the Chevy lovers will take notice. Sweet ride with fancy tailpipe tips to shoot flames one day?? LOL
No flame throwers here! Just an old flattie rumbling down the road.
Cool ride bro
👍
Beautiful car ...all the way
Nothing like the sound of a ford flathead V8
Looks great, and love the sound of the flathead V8, but I suspect that you'll be putting some kind of mufflers on it if you drive it much!
No mufflers! It's not loud inside, but sounds badass out the back.
@@QuickSpeedShop i got a 36 ford pickup with the orignal flathead and no mufflers also
That's a cool car! Don't sell it, you'll be sorry later on. It can only fight you so long and then you'll win!
I really don't want to sell it, but I'm getting to have a lot of cars and it's hard to keep up with everything.
@@QuickSpeedShop Believe me, I know, I've got 5 old cars and I can only seem to keep one going at a time! But I don't mind if they all don't run, I like looking at them too! LOL! Hang tuff friend, I love your videos.
👍
keep working on sharing good contents ! thanks
Yup, sounds like a ‘Hot Rod’......👍
😎
I remember an uncle of mine owned such a Ford car, and as a little kid, clearly remember his rubber bladed fan that appeared to be mounted on his dashboard near the driver side window (rather than on the steering column).
Cool 👍
The first car I remember was my dads 37 Ford 4 door. We drove from Lockport, Illinois to Galveston, Texas in 1947.
Oh wow. That's a good memory to have!
is that a 136 or a 221 engine .. love it, i just read the description, it's an AB, going to sub up and watch them all ...enjoyed
Car was originally a 136 V8-60. This engine is a 239 59AB
"GOD-BLESS-AMERICA !!!"--
💯💯🇺🇲
Looks good, fancy tail pipe tips nice touch. I love the sound no such thing as too LOUD but that's just me. Is the 40 Mercury on hold for now I know you had some suspected clutch issues and engine temp concerns keep up the good work look forward to Sun and Monday videos.
Merc is going to come back around in the fall. Going to get my lift installed so I can pick it up to work on the transmission.
❤
👍🏻 On the gas and kicking A$$!
You won’t be able to do no moonshine runs with that they’ll hear you 10 miles away.
They'll have to catch me first!
Take off the exhaust tips. Doesn't look good at all. Put some Cherry Bombs on. It will sound a lot better. As is would be ok in the wilds of Montana or streaking along Rte.2 in N.Dekota. I keep hearing a valve tap noise. It may be the exhaust note. Car is really cool though. Flatheads are awesome engines. Best wishes for a great car.
I have a ‘37 mill in my ‘36. It sounds great with duallies and cherry bombs. Mellow compared to the straight pipes.
Nice
So I couldn't find where you updated us as to if the reverse eye rear spring mod was a success with the longer shackels. Do you need a panhard to tighten up the rear? And how much did the rear actually drop??
Didn't need a panhard. Seems to handle okay, but haven't driven it more than a mile do to engine issues.
What's the top speed?
It sounds great 👍
I don't know what the top speed is. It's an 87 year old car, not a racecar.
Sounds like she's going to need that tune up soon or your going to be fouling plugs every time you fire it up. once you get it hitting on all 8 you're going to feel the difference and it should sound a bit better.
It's running with a really old condenser right now because the brand new one failed after about 10 minutes. Rest of fuel and ignition system is new or rebuilt.
Camera mics never do justice to an exhaust note, I know from buddies that have had stock flat heads with straight exhaust that they sound really good in person, the camera mic makes it sound obnoxiously loud like it has no pipe what so ever.
Now you got to put in a "3/4" race cam (aggressive but streetable cam) to make that pipe sing.
I hear you on the camera mic problem. I think the engine might have a cam in it as it idles lumpier that other stock flatheads I heard run. It has adjustable lifters in it so might have some sort of cam too.
Sounds it could taller gears
Has 3.78s in it.
Sounds like an old pulpwood truck.
Drive much? 🙄
I drive every day, why? Oh, you mean you don't like how I drove this car in this video? FYI, I had just swapped a 59AB into it, had literally just got it running, this was pretty much the first drive and the first time the car had been around the block in several years. It also needs tuning and shaking down, but that can't be it. It just must be that I suck at driving, yeah that's it.
