Lol but anyways she is the one who should learn French since she lives in Paris
I totally agree!! I was enjoying the video until he apologizes for his bad English. I know this is a sketch but why would it make her mad? If there's a misunderstanding, she can just ask him for more details.
Thats a racist, antifeminin and natinalist comment in 2021.
But since im a conservative i like it 😄👍
@@MetalMusicMonkey remember to add the /s
@@MetalMusicMonkey ooh edgy comment. I agree that the British woman should make an effort to learn French if she is living in France. And no, I'm not a conservative, I'm a liberal/leftist. Although perhaps we are taking this short film too seriously. The Frenchman obviously wants to improve his English and that's fine.
Obviously she needs to learn French. But we don't know the full context. May be she's just there temporarily for a few months. So she might not be willing to put that much effort to learn it. There might be numerous reasons.
Besides, that guy might just want to learn English to impress her. It's common to learn the language of your girlfriend/wife.
But the most important reason is that it's a French company that offers English classes. So obviously they'd promote speaking English
It's kinda funny how literal her mind was when the guy said he made foot and little box XD
The reference to the movie ‘Ghost’ with Patrick Swayze & Demi Moore was also hilarious.

@@frankbassoff stubborn, why cant people just accept their mistakes and learn lmao
I'm American and my husband is Indian. He's fluent in English and has been speaking it his whole life but he still has some funny ways to say things. One example that drives me nuts is when he refers to other rooms in the house as outside or inside, meaning in relation to the room you're currently in. We're sitting in bed and he gets up, "I'm going outside to get blah blah, do you need anything?" ... "Why are you going outside for that?" *He laughs* ".. babe you know what I mean" *I laugh* "honestly.... No 😂" 2 years and we still do this because it throws me off every time.
Yeah, to him it is outside of his current location.
I'm German and pretty confident with my English skills, but I can certainly see me doing similar 'mistakes'!
My Irish grandma also use to say "outside" meaning the living room or just outside of the current room. She use to say loads of things that showed the Irish language was still in her. She was among the first to be allowed to study Irish language in school in Ireland, after the Irish war of independence from Britain. But she had to come to America in the 1940's just to survive, because Ireland was so poor back then. (On top of which, all of Europe was war-torn, after WW11.)
It use to bother me that she "spoke funny." I was at that age when I just wanted to fit in. Such a shame.
Looking back, I am SO GRATEFUL that she taught me a little bit of the Irish language!
We yanks must get over ourselves, expand our minds, and stop being "driven nuts" by the fact that other ways of thinking exist (lingusitically and otherwise).
Being pedantic about the English language is a gross colonial way of thinking. (In fairness, English may be the biggest colonizer, but it isn't the only colonial language. French, Spanish, Dutch, and a few others have violently forced themselves upon the world to varying degrees, too.)
My Irish great-uncle would smile proudly and say "thank you" whenever someone told him his English was bad. In other words: since the Brits killed our language, the least we can do is return the favor. 😉
@@themaggattack I am Indian and I can't believe how much I agree with you!
Oh my god it's hilarious
@@themaggattack you should get over yourself, I never said his English was bad or anything like that.
I just adore these! Reminds me of a French friend who years ago, stopped a dinner party when asked if she enjoyed the movie earlier in the day. She replied that the movie was nice but the "foreplay" was better! What she meant was that she enjoyed all the movie trailers before the film :).

I see after all those lessons, he was still stuck with using the verb "make" in all his sentences.
And she still didn't even try to learn his language.

Clever way of putting the ads! LMAO!!! Funny sketch! I speak some french and that's exactly how it would sound in English!
"Je fais du sport".. Kinda thing

Those comedy skit ads are pretty nice.
Just wanted to point out that imo, it's the British woman who should learn French because they're both living in Paris.
Her face of disappointment @1:25 is way too hilarious 🤣😆😂
I showed this to my French ESL students who loved it. It 'made' their day!
We are in the process of learning the differences between make and do, which is not easy. In French 'faire quelque chose' covers both.
This an excellent little video that creates great interest and stimulates learning. Thank you for posting.
Are you guys experts at English or at comedy ?!! I'd not mind paying you for teaching me both! 🤣🤣
Because 'faire' means to make or to do...yes, it is tricky. I once said, when asked about my weekend, 'J'ai fait un petit chat,' which referred to my pottery class, but made the teacher think I was violating animals....One can use 'constuire', to construct, or 'fabriquer', and one probably will in time...
Here we are again my algorithm friends

Yesterday my Japanese student told me about her "kinky cat". She meant it has a kink in its tail XD
The ending music is outstanding. I love it.
I once had this Italian labmate in Delhi who commented "Have you never seen whores before or what"? We were walking through the university in the dead of the night and suddenly came upon a group of Asian antelopes. After some time I understood he meant "horse". He still got it wrong as they were antelopes, but well, how wrong would he have been if he had meant "whores"! 😅
Omg this is so funny, I'm french and people in my english classes sometimes talk like François xD
Guys, you are the best. Love wathing your genuine videos, totally awesome!

Bonjour 👋 from 🇮🇳
It's all three of them.
Seriously? If it's an art, it's the art of being extremely deceiptive.
OMG this is hilarious! This is what men say and what women expect 🤣 and why is he using make only! I am learning Spanish and trying to know verbs more than him. Anyway she too has to learn french!
because in French, the verb "faire" can be applied to many different meanings (like, to play sports, to bake, to make, ...) , but the representing form is usually translated as "make" in English, thus the reason why he is only using make, I think XD i hope that makes sense
the song is amazing, what's the name?
Where are they?!
We need more videos 😭😭😭
Words don't matter -- she wants him for the *accent* !
I love these videos. Some quality puns here :)

What's the background soundtrack called?
Funny everyone came here from one video i guess
Faire du foot ⚽️, (play football), faire du boxing (do some boxing), faire de la vaisselle (do the dishes). So basically, hobbies use the word “faire” (to make or to do)….. Vous faites tous les choses. Je suis américaine Chinoise. 🤣🤣
Awesome
An English speaker would never think "little box" has anything to do with boxing.
A little boxe not like a small boxe but rather a bit.
Cardboard box with the foot in it would look better as it doesn't repeat the same joke.
French: Je t' adore
English: Shut the door yourself
This is so funny
Let's not even go to "I have twenty five years."
I'm sorry but eating on a british flag is a big no for me :')
Why?
Disrespectful, duh
@@ainunnabile well, it's a question of principle, nothing big. You know, the brits are supposed to be the big rivals of us frenchies, even if this rivalry is more often just to make fun of each other. But so, if an British girl was inviting me at her place to eat on British flag, in France, it would be like a provocation to me ahahahahah
Is this because british were colonize your country?
@@ainunnabile No no, it has nothing to do with this, since the brits never colonized France ahahah! How to explain, we have a "friendly rivalry" with Uk, we like to make fun of each other whenever we can, to beat them in any competitions, etc... It's a kind of love hate relationship, it's pretty funny :)
Could someone please inform me what's the name of the background song? I'd be extremely grateful. (0:00 - 1:09)

Yes, you used petite amie. Be thankful you weren't referring to a 4 year old girl who happened to be a 'little friend' of yours.
👌👌👌👌👌👌
That could be a good Duolingo ad
Is he using "make" because the verb ("metre") for "to do" and " to make" is the same in French?
"mettre" means "to put something somewhere" or simply "to put". "Faire" is the verb that means "to do" or "to make". For example, we would say "faire du foot" which means "play football", but its word by word translation would be "to do foot". Same thing for "faire la vaisselle" which means "to wash the dishes", but its word by word translation would mean "to do dishes". However, the confusing thing about the verb "faire" is that it can also mean "to make", like "faire un dessin" which would mean "to make a drawing", "faire une sculpture" would mean "to make a sculpture" (as in, to create/build a sculpture with our own hands). This video is joking about the fact that the word "faire" can both mean to do an action, and to make/create an object
@@yurisakamaki7469 well explained! thank you
Yes.
To make : faire (to transform, to create...)
To do : faire (to do)
