A year ago, I used to listen to this trying to fall asleep. Coming back now, having memorized the lyrics to heart, hearing this again feels like a homecoming party shaped like a soft blanket.
This does seriously feel like a very ancient song... Like something you'd expect our ancestors to sing from way long ago... A lullaby of a language we can no longer understand because we are too withdrawn from our past. (It's just how I perceive the song)
I love how how you took the effort to make this langue sound like a real language. You're not just making the sounds the way they would sound in English, you made it into something that might really have existed. I don't know anything about linguistics, but I think what you gave it is its own phonology, that is, the way the langue has its own sounds. You doing that for this songs fictional langue takes it from something that just sounds nice, to something that gives the world this song comes from a new depth.
sorry if i'm commenting on a 2 year old comment for no reason but while this rendition is beautiful in its own right, the language should be attributed to emi evans, the lead vocalist for the nier/drakengard series, the song itself to her and keiichi okabe, the composer for the series. both of them are absolutely amazing and deserve all the credit for the soundtracks.
@@aperfectlynormalinternetus6715 sorry I'm also commenting on a 11 months comment, I agree with you they are really amazing all the soundtracks are good I listen to them all the time even after I stopped playing the game, I really like Lizz cover and it's great job from her to do it and I think it's not very easy to sing in a different languages at once (I know cuz I can speak in different languages as well) but tbh I'm really like Emi voice and all her soundtracks

And i probably like the way she pronounces the lyrics more than Emi (o god the blasphemy 😱), but not sure, must listen more to the og og to be a shore 🏝

Personally I prefer Popola's version over Devola's but with your voice everything sounds just perfect so I can't even dare to complain ;_; You're really doing this song justice! Also: I don't mind if you cover even more stuff from NieR, I am addicted with the games and the OST as well, so you really make me happy by these uploads! :)
Adilliosz That's not what I meant ;W; There are two versions of the song in the original NieR (well, actually three, but the third is a more dynamic one) - Lizz used Devola's version for this cover but I actually prefer the instrumental of Popola's more :)
Ah my bad, I misread cause of the excitement of Lizz doing this cover:P. But I agree on the instrumental one, that one just gives me goosebumps. NieR is magical like that.

This made me cry, really beautiful. I have such an intense fondness for the Nier franchise. I remember just sitting in-game or visiting Popola or Devola every time I went to town just to hear this song.

Changhyun Woo exactly, someone like j'nique nicole was a good addition of vocals to the Automata soundtrack. Her vocals on The Tower makes my heart sink to my stomach. And i think lizz would be a good addition aswell if she ever had the chance

Yeah..i agree..Kuwata look like a japanesse language, Jiunmata its a korean, Manja i think its a Indonesian language, and then a russia, german, france and more. They can combine the different language into one beautiful lyric and song.

It's probably normal to not understand what anyone's saying in this song because it's a fictional language from the game NieR, just in-case you didn't know that already.
The language in particular is known as 'Chaos Language', or at-least, that's what I've heard it is.
{ GYAKU KUTIKKU } It was made by taking about 10 different languages and imagining what it would evolve into over 10k years
Lizz you truly are an amazing singer. I never really paid much attention to the lore of the drakengard/neir series, but then I listened to this. The moment I did, I was immediately enraptured by how beautiful it was from start to finish. Something about it just soothes my soul. I think your version, your cover took this song to the very depths the creators envisioned for the original. I personally feel you realized a level of majesty that they could not despite the original's own grandeur. You truly are a talent worthy of recognition.
