Do Donkeys ever have shoes on their feet? If not why do horses but not donkeys their hooves look very similar so must need shoes if walking on hard ground like roads?
It’s old owner should have his feet bound up and made to walk like that for 2 years and see how it feels!!!! What a horrible person to watch that donkey suffer!!! This is not an overnight problem and if they was unable to take care of him then that person should have sold him when they were unable to get his feet trimmed!!! Maybe karma will take care of them!!!

That blade is pretty sharp. If that can slice through a hoof that easy, slicing a finger or 2 wouldn’t be that hard either!
There is a real danger cutting too deep. That's why this master hoof trimmer is hired to trim donkey's and those other men watching aren't doing it. These donkey's are mostly untrained at having hoofs trimmed so all of the fighting they do raises the risk for injury, to the donkey or themselves, if an inexperienced person would attempt this. The master may have cut himself in the past but I don't see any scars on his hands so he is skilled at what he does.

"don't know how to cut their hooves" I'm a western trained farrier. I was never taught like this. I've watched more than a few of these now and the man does have a technique that seems to work. Boy that knife is brutal. Is it any less brutal than the planer I saw used in another video or the grinders used in the west? It's fast and that's always a good thing. These examples are the worst of the worst and as we all know it takes time to get them back. This is just their initial trim. I think that these animals were on their way for a painful death and it is good the Master does what he can for them. These are not exactly Lipizzaners. They are only 'worth' so much. Western values are also only worth so much in this world.
