I've been working this type of job for almost 8 years, and I'm so done with it !!
I'm thinking of working something else, because I am pushing myself to my limits on a daily basis !
I've loved trucks all of my life, but the disrespect, stress that I get everyday,is killing me !
I am starting to fall into depression, even my family life isn't as it used to be before !
I completely understand you my friend, those who have never driven a truck don't have a clue what a terrible job is !

That was a dreadful junction where you wanted to turn right where the car found out you can't.
I've a class 2 licence but my CPC is long out of date as I haven't driven HGV’s for seven years or more.
Got my form in to renew, and get my medical, but as I'm approaching 65 I think I'll not renew my licence.
Don't really fancy going back to sitting waiting on getting unloaded/loaded, all the rules and regs on hours etc, and nowhere to get to the loo... The job I'm in now, is fewer hours and flexible on when I take my breaks and its my hobby too.

Bit of an insult to say that a rigid is like a van. I’d love to see a white van man just hop into a 24 toner with rear steer and navigate urban innercity streets. The length and height are just two factors then the weight limits too plus the rear swing and absolutely crap turning circle. Stick a moffett on the back end and it’s even worse.
