  • Welcome to the first video in my marathon training series! This was a huge project and I am really happy to finally share it with you. I plan to make the next videos more vlog-styled but I believe this first video needed a bit more. I’m aware it’s long but I hope you enjoy watching it anyway! I’m here to chat with you in the comments if you may have any questions or insights yourselves.

I am SO THRILLED to finally share this first video in my marathon training series with you! As noticed, it’s quite long but remember I put the chapters for you :)
This marathon training has started off extremely well and I am surprising myself every, single day 💫! Not only is it fun because I genuinely enjoy it but documenting the process for you excites me a lot! I’ll be sharing much more of what I do on a daily basis (vlog-styled) but I just needed for you watch this first!
Let me know if you’re working towards a goal yourself (doesn’t have to be related to running) or, if you’re in-love and obsessed with running like I am, any tips and recommendations would be amazing! 💕 💕

obsessed with this! i started running during recovery and it's helped me sooo much. i also eat sooo many oats. sometimes i worry that it's "too much" (even though that isn't really a thing in recovery) and have to remind myself how important it is replenish the energy used when running so that i can continue running. since eating lots more oats and bread my times and distance have improved enormously!! thank you so much for the video, it helps ensure that i am also hopefully on the right track!

Did you see a doctor for your foot? And get a proper diagnosis? It’s really uncommon to heal a stress fracture so quickly and it’s quite serious if you return to run too soon. It’s a literal broken bone.

Thank you so much for asking! Believe me, I was quite nervous and unsure if running again was the right thing to do. The day of my test run, I went with my gut feeling. I did go to my doctor after recording this portion of the video who confirmed for me to be fit to run again - assuming I don’t feel any pain, whatsoever. They couldn’t tell if it was an actual stress fracture I had recovered from, I just assumed it because of research (a bit dumb). It turned out not to have been a broken bone but my joints being damaged because of too much continuous pressure, overload and primarily running in the wrong shoes.
I’m listening to my body every, single day and I am so happy not to be experiencing any pain at all. My runs have only become better and I have never seen this much improvement as within the last month!💫
As mentioned, if it returns even the slightest bit, I’ll quit. The last thing I’d want is to damage myself permanently ! I’m being careful every single day and watch my every step - literally :)

I sold shoes in a technical running store for a few years a while back and different shoe companies use different lasts and different people need different lasts based on their feet, their weight, their running volumes, styles and intensities. Over the years, I’ve used many different brands depending on the best fit for me. And since shoe companies think they need to redesign often, shoes that I used to love often get redesigned into something that no longer works for me and I find myself switching not just shoes, but brands.

At 13:59 you've said that you have no idea how far you've runned. Small advice...why don't you get yourself a running watch. You can find amazing running watches for 200-500€. There is a Coros Pace 3 watch that is a 230€, Apple Watch is amazing too if you love Apple ecosystem. I know you can use your phone to track your runs but I would not recommend that. You do not need to spend a huge amount of money on a good GPS watch. I'm a a little shocked to see you prepare for a marathon and not use a GPS watch. Great video BTW😜

It started improving only once I started doing proper physio excercises. I felt so depressed and frustarted not being able to walk comfortably! There are many factors that might have contributed to my infury, but inappropirate footwear was one of them I believe. now, I pay more attention to what I buy... lesson learned I guess.
