Way before the current boom in live-action Disney reboots, the company extended their most beloved movies through direct-to-video sequels, prequels, and mid-quels. Starting with 1994’s Aladdin sequel The Return of Jafar, Disney made sure their straight to DVD releases were there to give fans more of what they wanted. And what an amazing number of titles there are to choose from!
In this video, we’re ranking Disney’s straight to DVD movies by just how weird they got. Sometimes the movies were simply odd choices for sequels like The Fox and the Hound 2 or Bambi II. Sometimes they just didn’t add anything to the original story like Cinderella II: Dreams Come True or Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas. And sometimes the stories were just odd like Leroy & Stitch. Some were even pretty solid efforts like Aladdin and the King of Thieves and The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride. No matter what, though, before streaming services came to be, these direct-to-video movies were all the rage. Click play for our ranking of the weirdest entries in Disney’s straight to DVD collection. - Krátké a kreslené filmy

Title of video: "Disney Movies You Didn't Know Existed"
Me: "Not only did I know, that all of these movies existed, I watched them all. And greatly enjoyed the majority of them"
Same lol
I haven’t watched them all but I still enjoy watching some of these movies
Same for the most part.
Same lmao
Same. And I still LOVE the opening song of Lion King 2
I love how they use clips from Ariel’s beginning when talking about the little mermaid two
Katie Eckert I noticed that too
Right?!! I'm like, so which one are they talking about again? And anyway, The Little Mermaid II was a great movie! I loved Melody!
I was wondering if anyone else noticed lol
It's cause the second one is HEAVILY copyrighted so it's hard to find footage of it without getting flagged
Ikr
I remember watching literally ALL of these movies when I was little and got so confused when other kids in my class hadn't seen it. But why does the guy gotta make them seem bad. Kids don't think about this stuff, they just love it.
I actually watch Mulan 2 more than the original because I love “Other Girls” I really liked it
Foxy Producciones “no pinchy shoes ?” 😂 always laughed at that part
Robbie Bobby YES! Lol
Me too
I loved the song "Lesson number one" and I adored the 3 guys romancing the 3 princesses XD
Thorki Hiddlesworth this soundtrack was superior ! Lol
ummm... i really liked mulan 2 ectually haha
I have it, and I liked it! The arranged marriage thing was just a product of the times in ancient China.
m3🙂
Yasss i wove that one
Pernila Kerkhof right!!
Me too honestly
I actually enjoyed Cronk's New Groove.
SAME
i love cronk and the mitten lol

It's way better than the emperors new groove in my opinion.
@@ravenya8502 I agree
You forgot Brother Bear 2, Atlantis 2: Milo's Return, The jungle book 2, Peter Pan 2: Return to Neverland and all Winnie the Pooh sequels.
Jungle Book 2, Return to Neverland, and the Tigger and Piglet movies were theatrical, not direct-to-DVD (even though they were made by the direct-to-DVD crew instead of Walt Disney Studios proper)
Atlantis 2 doesnt exist in my mind
@@neothalamus same
That was the dumbest thing ever
@@harrysgirl101 it should be nonexistent

You forgot Peter Pan: Return to Neverland, The Jungle Book 2, Atlantis: Milo's Return and Brother Bear 2. Also if this was a ranking then why did you talk about great sequels so low on the list like Lion King 2: Simba's Pride and talk about horrible sequels so high on the list like Mulan 2?
Actually Jungle book 2 and the return to neverland were only released on theaters before it was released on dvd
Who said it was a ranking
@@AtypicalIC Go to 0:30
I loved all these movies as well
@@sheepysaccount I understand what they mean by a great sequel and I all for their opinion on the film, but they literally say at the beginning of the video that it's a ranking, so when something positively spoken is at the bottom of the list and something negatively spoken is at the top of the list just doesn't make sense.
Lion King 1/2 is a masterpiece, I won't accept other opinions
I loved it. For some reason, I had convinced myself that story was from the cartoon show until I watched this vid.
Agreed
I loved it as well
It still to this day my favorite Disney movie it is so funny and I love how showed how the events took place
Preach
Me: *looks up Mulan 2*
Me: Mulan 2 has 79% on Tomato meter
Thank you for this. I hope they make the live-action movie ! and make it right !
Kronk's New Groove was not a misfire, it's one of the best disney sequels
Anyone that never watched mulan 2 had a terrible childhood.
I actually saw Mulan 2 before Mulan 1 XD XD XD
I never watched it until like December of last year
I only watched it once, and that was when I borrowed it from the library years ago. I never even knew it had a sequel until I saw it on the library shelf. I grew up knowing about Aladdin having a sequel, being Aladdin and the King of Thieves, because I had it since my childhood, but a lot of Disney sequels I've never even remotely heard about since this video now make me want to find a few of these.
@@opAmayaN same
@@ZandieBird He actually gives these movies a very fair shake. Not all Disney movies are worth watching. Cinderella 3 is though.

Anybody else have a thing for Aladdin’s dad as a kid?..... Just me? Okay 😅
i did but also he looked like my dad
Yeah no...
Well he IS a charming man, and a lot of people find smooth-talkers attractive.
u cought me...
Now that you mention it.. lol But I remember feeling VERY uncomfortable throughout that whole movie. I think I hated that his dad was a bad guy, and my brain was like, "DOES NOT COMPUTE."
This is not ranked! It's all over the place
This is not meant to
The lion King 1 1/2 is so freaken hilarious 😅 Memories
I like the lion king 2

IMO It was better than the original (not that the original wasn't good, it was FANTASTIC, but I like the 2nd even better)

i like both
Great movie as well. I just discovered the tv show Lion Guard recently and even though the first two seasons are obviously targeted at younger viewers the third got more serious in several ways and integrates itself pretty nice into the whole canon short after the second movie.
The Tarzan tv show did make it to air, I remember watching it every Saturday night!
Ok! I wasn’t crazy lol i remember it airing
I watched it weekday afternoons during Disney afternoons on nbc I think
Not the episodes that they used for Tarzan and Jane.
@@demonag5842 They aired in Finland when I was a kid. :3 man I loved the show. It had Paavo Kerosuo aka Finnish voice actor of Simba do the voice of Tarzan. I fell in love with his voice.
for a show that "didn't make it to air" it sure had some good viewing ratings over the course of it's 2 seasons ^_^
Legend of Tarzan was a show. It was on toon Disney in the 2000’s lion king 1 1/2 is hilarious 😂😂😂😂 and it makes sense on what happened in the beginning 😂😂😂😂😂
I was looking for this comment the show had 2 season and was actually good use to be shown on Jetix when it went to Disney along side Aladdin, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command series
Was I the only one whom had Toon Disney on TV growing up? Because I remember The Legend of Tarzan being on TV like Hercules.
Jazmin Clark it nice to know im not the only one that remembers the tarzan tv show
And the little mermaid, 101 dalmatians, tail spin, darkwing duck, the adventure of the gummy bears, gargoyles, etc toon disney was awesome.
Aladdin had a TV show too! :)
Thank you I was thinking the same thing
It was on the air. The three episodes used to make Tarzan and Jane didn’t air on tv, however.
Aladdin and the King of Thieves was an excellent movie! Capped off the end of the TV series too.
I love how all the “straight to DVD movies”/“direct to video” were shown in theatres in Denmark...
So you really gonna disrespect our movies like that...
Lion King 2, Little Mermaid 2 and Cinderella 3 were my JAMS.
Alexandra S I love the little mermaid 2 in my opinion it was better than the first in some areas at least. In the first movie I felt like Ariel didn’t learn anything and she got everything handed to her but in the little mermaid 2 I felt like not only did Ariel learn something but I could relate to Melody

XD I loved 101 Dalmations II though with my favorite puppy and Thunderbolt !
>Disney Movies You Didn't Know Existed
Everyone: 'uh....we've watched all of these' >.>
"Disney Movies You Didn't Know Existed" makes the assumption that people never watched television.
Then things go into a generalized "These movies shouldn't have been made for the following reasons, and I'm going to use my opinions as facts."
Omg I've seen all of these while growing up in the early 2000's
Edit: i love these sequels they aren't bad
When you trying to find a movie you haven’t seen but realize you’ve seen all of them
Title : Disney Movie That You Didn't know Existed
Me: Heh, Even the title knows comedy 😏
Okay but like “Lesson Number One” from Mulan 2 was my JAM THOUGH
I think that every true Disney fan already know this movies so... I was really hoping for some discovery but I'm disappointed.
I think you messed up the pictures for two sequence of the little mermaid.
I realized when I was a child we always used to have the sequels of Disney movies but we never had the first parts
Same
Tarzan 2, Lion King 2, and Return to Neverland are in my opinion good movies
What about Bambi 2, Aladin 2, and Cinderella 3? This is, combined with what you mention, is my favourite movies for the sequels.
I agree with thing too
I forget what happens in Return to Neverland, but I feel like I've seen it before...
@@miamazingness Jane, Wendy's daughter is kidnapped by Captain Hook and goes to Neverland.
Kronk’s new Groove was *actually* pretty funny.
The Loin King 1½ is awesome because the song the hyeans comes
Yes it was so funny
It was hysterically funny having things from the perspectives of Pumba and Timon. It was that rare sequel that was actually successful.
That song is such an earworm
@@GhostLight-vz3nh why
@@bridgetmistryable it stuck in my head for like days 😂
FYI the scene with aerials mother for the little mermaid 2. Are actually from the little mermaids:aerials beginning which is a prequel
Even when the choice to do a sequel was weird, some of the sequels e.g. Bambi 2 was incredible made. The story was simple and sweet with heavy moment which shows the grows of bambi. Also the animation is just beautiful, it is like the original just with upgraded animation but still beautiful landscapes and drawings.
Same with the Ariel Movies. It doesn't have super complicated stories (never had), but the presentation, pacing, animation and characters made it entertaining, true to the original and are perfect examples how to do a sequel.
I wonder, will the direct-dvd(blue-ray) sequels ever come back? Or maybe we really missed some for the series like Tangled.
I’m pretty sure the Tarzan TV series Did air
I vividly remember it
Hana S I think he meant, additional episodes that never aired
Yupp. It was on Toon Disney.
If people didn't know these didn't exist, are they really disney fans?
I'm a Disney fan I know about all these movies
I may of not watched all of them but I still knew about them
RIGHT
Just a little bit about Bambi: In the books he does end up living with and learning from his father after being wounded as a young adult. In his youth he and his mother had met up with and even travelled with other deer in leaner times (which you do get a glimpse of in the film) and one of the older deer they knew was named Ronno. Initially Bambi had looked up to him but as adults Ronno confronted Bambi over Faline and lost.
In the first film the larger deer he fights is also named Ronno. Since the midquel lacked any major enemies outside of man I guess they just wanted to work that rivalry further into Bambi’s past. Being a much more kiddy movie they made Ronno younger than he was initially let on to be in the first film, given the three pronged antlers.
I was about to comment that Ronno did appear in the original film as Bambi's rival. Thank you.
Why do you say the legend of tarzan never made it to air? I watched that show as a kid on Jetix
I think it didnt air in some places? If it did, then this video doesnt make sense at all... I think they just recently crawled outta a rock or something lol.
omg i miss Jetix
I think it was that specific episode or something
He didn’t say the show didn’t air. He said three episodes that never aired were made into the movie.
I don't understand how you can be a Disney fan and not love the sequels?!
Necessary or not, it is Disney!!!
They will forever give those who were raised by Disney a sense of nostalgia!
I am a Disney baby and I have watch every single one of the sequels you mention and love them as much as the original maybe ever more.
Pretty sure return of Jafar is amazing. "Forget about this guy..." 🎶
i remember that i loved mulan 2 and krong's movie
Lady and the Tramp II was actually pretty decent, especially after having such a large time gap between the first and the second
I loved it!
Wonder what you meant by"you didn't know existed" yet I e watched all of them 😂😂😂 I'm legit a Disney addict
“Disney movies you didn’t know existed”
Bruh...I’ve seen ALL of these. I had a FUN childhood. The hell you talking about?
We used to own Scamps Adventure and I watched it so much we had to replace it at least once.
I knew of most of these and loved them a lot.
Favorites are pocahotnas 2, the little mermaid 2 and 3, Lion king 2 and 1 1/2, Bambi 2, lady and the tramp 2 and Kronk's new groove
The serie Tarzan did show on Disney channel, loved it
He said that it was unaired episodes of the show, not that the show never aired
Bruh this made me laugh so hard everyone knows about Lilo and stitch and all the others that are on here
Who remembers in Lion King 2 when Kiara meats Kovu how she introduces herself? right away she was flirting, instantly!(pretty much)
I knew about all of these, but I have't watched all of them. My favorite one on this list though is The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride
"You didnt know existed"
Has them all on VHS and DVD
I'm sorry, but I DID know these existed.
I've watched a lot of these old movies back when I was younger, most of these were pretty much my childhood. They weren't bad and they were pretty apart from the original versions but the plots were okay. Didn't matter to me that the movies were low quality and stuff back then. lol
I think I still have these old movie, though they're kind of scratched up.
They were entertaining enough and believe it or not, taught me some morals that I still remember to this day.
Aladdin and the King of Thieves was one of my Favorites!
Anyone here saw every single video that they mentioned? 🙋🏻♀️
the editor did an oopsie mixed both the little mermaid prequel and the sequel shots together.
Kronk's new groove was amazing tho
Isn't the bully deer in Bambi II supposed to be the deer that Bambi fights against in the first Bambi and tosses down into a lake?
that s him, his name was not revealed in the first film but in numerous storybooks and old storyteller records
@@ginauccelatore3002 Nice

I like how they talk about it little mermaid 2 and show scenes from little mermaids: Ariel's beginnings smh lol
I wish they made a sequel to Tarzan woncwere where he Jane we’re living in the jungle
They made that tv show.
The lady and the tramp 2 is one of my favourites
I watched lady and the tramp 2 like 4 times a day everyday when i was younger
This title is misleading. I feel like most people probably know these existed. Rating Disney Sequels would've been a better title since that's literally what you did.
I knew about probably 3/4 of these movies. And I'd probably seen a little over half of them. Diehard Disney fans would know every one existed, but I'm sure that a large percentage at least learned of one title (at minimum) that was unknown to them.
Says ‘Little Mermaid 2’. Shows ‘Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning’ 🤦🏼♀️
I remember all of these movies, and any of the "Lilo and Stitch" movies are the best.

“Didn’t know existed” just lists the most well know sequels..... I only haven’t seen 2 of these and when my non Disney fan bf he knew majority of them too

Can we accept how good of a joke this is
I have seen Tarzan 2 first, and it kinda gave me some nightmares, but all in all it's was fun.
The enchanted christmas is the movie of my childhood... Because of nostalgia i actually prefer it than first one 😅
I remember thinking I wanted to see the movie and wondered how in the world I was supposed to be able to watch it lol
Cinderella 2 & 3 were way better than the first movie. That’s all.
I'm not gonna say they're better, but I genuinely enjoyed both of them. Specially the second one! I loved how they had some character development for Anastasia cause all she wanted was love! :3
Kronk's New Groove was amazing and I loved it!
Lady and the Tramp two was my absolute favourite as a kid. I. actually have a chihuahua named Angel that looks exactly like the animated Angel... its a complete coincidence since her old owner never saw the movie and actually named her after her mother "Angela" .
I was also super obsessed with lion king two and honestly i loved most of these movies but, that.s just me ...
i loved these sequels deffently lady and tramp 2 scamps adventure and hes a kids what do u expect and king of thieves and my fav is lion king 2 i love it so much and it did good too in box offices
how in the world did you get The Little Mermaid 2 mixed up with the 3rd Little Mermaid 😭??
You should make a video called, Disney shows you never knew existed. There's a lot of shows people dont really remember.
Ex. Brandy and Mr. Whiskers, Dave the Barbarian, Ed, Super Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!, and Gargoyles, and more!
I've seen every one of these movies and I loved them what? These were my childhood! I watched Tarzan 2 like 3 weeks ago lmao
I've seen all those movies on this list
Um I have not seen the comments yet but you used scenes from Ariel's beginning for Return to the Sea.....😅
Yup, noticed too xD
Im definitely subscribing after seeing this video. I've watched a few on this channel before and liked them, but I think this video is a perfect example of how these types of videos should be. each segment is short and to the point, but gives you enough information that you could decide whether or not you would want to see the movie if you haven't already. and despite the fond feelings I have for some of the movies that were called lower quality in this video, I feel like it was done in such an unbiased way that I don't feel offended on their behalf, and I can just enjoy the commentary for what it is.
i watched half of these movies and loved them XD love the video btw! imma go watch the rest because of this :3
Uh, I've either heard of or have seen almost all of these 😂
I’ve seen all those movies lol
Some of them are even among my favorites X’D
I remember seeing trailers for the Fox and the Hound II as a young child and even then being pissed off that it was even a thing. I watched the original multiple times by that point, and understood that the midquel had no business existing.
I liked the second one when I was super young, then I rewatched it this year. It's bad..
I liked Kronks new groove better than Emperors New Groove 🤷🏼♀️😂
the story is more moving
No I Know A lot A Cinderella 2 I Have It On Vhs
I could watch Cinderella III so many times it’s amazing.
I love Cinderella 3 i miss that movie
I love every single one of these especially Lady and Tramp II and Lion King II
lady and tramp now one of my 4TH july traditions, LOVE that opening
I have entire shelves of disney films to watch at christmas and halloween (if you count live action) but not much for the other holidays
Lion King 1 1/2 was definitely something I needed
I would choose Mulan II over any other Disney Princess sequels.
Ok maybe, not the Ariel one, but definitely over Cinderella and Belle. (And 100% over Pochantas II, never seen that sequel and never will because it's just so messed up.) Not sure if I should include Aladdin II...but you guys get the picture.
Kronks new groove is kinda good tho
Scamp didn't want to be cool, he wanted to be free. And that movie was fantastic
I love Tarzan 2 ! God I adored it as a kid
